The hotel is conveniently located near the subway. My room was clean, beds comfortable, good value, friendly staff. Free hot and cold breakfast. We had a minor tub problem that was handled within 15 minutes. I was impressed with the customer service.

This is a perfect place to stay in the city. It is a half block to the Subway station and a 2 minute walk to Times Square. It is walkable to Rockefeller Plaza and many of the theaters. Yes, the breakfast area was crowded but we never had to wait for a table. There were many breakfast choices and they keep it well stocked. Next time I visit New York I will definitely be staying here again. Read less

Louis and Ricardo at the front desk were absolutely great. They both made me feel at home and I definitely will come back again. They both deserve 10 stars.

We recently stayed at the Hampton Inn Manhattan/Times Square Central. The location was excellent and very convenient for exploring the city. However, the hotel facilities are undersized for the number of rooms and guests. The lobby and restaurant areas were small, and breakfast was quite chaotic. The serving area was cramped, and many people had no choice but to eat standing up due to the lack of tables. Our room was clean and functionally fine, but it was far too small to comfortably accommodate four people. Despite being on the 21st floor, we could clearly hear street noise and early morning construction work starting around 4:30–5:00am, which made it difficult to sleep past 6am. The air conditioning unit was also noisy and in need of servicing. The biggest issue, though, was the lifts. They were extremely slow and far too small to support a hotel of this size. At peak times, it could take up to five minutes just to catch one, which was frustrating. Overall, while the location was great, the hotel’s facilities didn’t really match the scale of the property. I don’t normally review hotels, because they’re all kind of the same. I absolutely have to review this one though. I’ve never encountered such kind, thoughtful, client-centred staff in a hotel anywhere in the world. I travelled to NYC with my teen daughter and we met up with my senior mother. I’m always kind of bracing for negotiation and mild frustration when I arrive before check-in at a hotel. Not this time. They were very busy when we arrived at about 11am, but no matter, the front desk agent (a young man whose name I forget but who was working on Aug 17 in the morning) immediately assured us that it was no problem to hold our bags, and offered many times for us to come back anytime to check if our room is ready early! Like….when does that happen?! He alerted the concierge, Joseph (who I think might be an actual saint) of our arrival and Joseph immediately stored our bags, gave a brief orientation to the hotel and offered his services to help us in any way he could. We went out and had a full day and evening, and the second we returned, the new shift of agents were equally lovely, pleasant and efficient. Throughout our stay we constantly commented on how grateful we were to have found such a gem of a hotel. On a rainy day we ended up caught in a downpour and offered to help clean the lobby up (we tracked in a river’s worth of water despite our efforts) but by the time we finished our sentence there was already a staff member happily mopping and someone ran to get us towels as we were freezing!! One night when I had to handle some business at home, Clifton (I believe his name is), the security guard who was working on the night of Aug 19, made the evening fun for my mom and daughter. He chatted with them, gave them a bunch of restaurant recommendations, and took them up to the hotel’s rooftop patio and indulged my teen’s every photo request and took a million pics of my teen and my mom posing in front of the NY skyline. Like how totally above and beyond! This morning we had to leave early. Joseph and the lovely Katherine reviewed our airport transport options and we decided to use their car service as it was cheaper than a cab or uber! Joseph got the car in 30 seconds and we made good time! The rooms were clean and comfortable, they clean routinely every 2nd night but you can call down and ask for anything you need in between. The bathrooms were clean and well-stocked, good hot water, the TVs had a good number of channels and also all the streaming apps so you can log in and watch from your own accounts. The free breakfast looked good (eggs, sausage, waffles, yogurt, juice, cereals, oatmeal, the whole shebang) but we were out and about so we never had it. In the lobby there’s always ice water, tea and coffee available. The location was perfect. Steps from all the theatres, Time Square and basically just the heart of the theatre district but it was very quiet at night. Oh, and the main reason we booked this hotel over others was that the rooms are spacious (by NYC standards). Plenty of space for all of us and our bags and our ever-growing pile of Broadway merch and gifts. Amazing experience, can’t wait to go back! Read less
