Stayed here for 4 nights during UNGA Week where every hotel is overcharging and booked up. This hotel was shrouded by construction scaffolding and trash bins, so not so easy to spot while driving by. $900+ a night got me a compact room that was shop-worn with scraped walls, peeling veneers, a basic shower (no handheld option), no cable news channels, no mini fridge, and a carpet that felt damp all the time. No place to put luggage except on the far side of the bed next to the window so glad I was traveling solo. The good parts: The hotel is well located on 36th Street and about 25 minute walk to the UN HQ. It was also an easy walking distance to other meetings near 42nd Street. For Manhattan, the double glazed windows squashed most of the street noise except for sirens. The staff were helpful. There are ice machines on some floors-be prepared to move around as the basement machine was empty on several trips. There is coffee and tea available in lobby 24 hours a day. Wifi signal was strong. The window in my room opened so I could get fresh air and not run AC during the daytime. Be aware: room 1704 is across from the elevator. Ding ding! No ice machine on 17. The insides of drawers look battered snd rough so didn’t put anything in them. Brought slippers so I didn’t have to walk on the damp carpet. There was a slight off/moldy smell in the room. No mini-fridge! Housekeepers chat a lot in the hallways so you will be awake listening to them yell at each other. Housekeeping took away a towel I had hung up on a rack to reuse. They also took away the toilet paper roll and didn’t replace it. Glad there was a spare roll under the sink. There are 2 elevators and 20 floors so there can be a wait to go up/down. Boildown: it was a functional bed and bath in a decent location. Nowhere near worth $900+ a night but all hotels jack up rates 2x - 3x during UN Week. Scouted other hotels nearby for next year during the trip.

Great location. You are centrally located so a lot of the popular sights are under a 15 min walk. Subway station is close. Rooms are a good size and breakfast was much better than I expected. We would definitely stay here again.
