The hotel

In a city where it's all about location, nothing beats a stay in Manhattan's theatre district, moments from the most guidebook-worthy sights, shops, and dining. You can survey all that surrounds you from Bar 54. Fittingly named, it sits on the 54th floor of Hyatt Centric Times Square – making it the highest hotel rooftop lounge in the whole of NYC. It doesn't just give you magical Manhattan views though, it also delivers small plates, handcrafted cocktails, and unique seating in igloo-style bubbles. You can get a view on Manhattan from your guest room too, with its floor-to-ceiling windows sure to distract from the complimentary Wi-Fi. When you're not staring at or exploring the city, the hotel's also home to Times Square's only full-service spa.

Image of the Tripadvisor rating Want a large size bedroom, stay here! Fantastic hotel right beside Times Square!

Had business meetings for our team at the Hyatt Centric and everything was fantastic. Great large rooms not your typical small size bedroom! Very hip modern decor and amazing bathroom! The meetings rooms, catering and staff were all amazing and they took care of our needs without us even needing to ask! Would definitely stay there again!

While the hotel location was perfect the fact that they force a $40 daily fee for a discount card for local businesses that you can get in the t-shirt shops or off the street for free is ridiculous

The Hyatt Centric Times Square was a perfect hotel and location. It was close to everything, but a quiet hotel since it was around the corner from Times Square. Maria the service manager helped me out with the reservation and when we arrived. She was so helpful! We also had Rosalba assist us when we got to the hotel. We paid for an upgraded room which was worth it. We loved our oversized two queen bed room on a high floor with city view. It wasn’t really ‘oversized,’ but a good sized room for a NY hotel. We loved it! The room was nice, quiet, clean, and spacious. The bathroom was very nice with a tub. The shower was good and had great water pressure. There was a ledge on the mirror to put all your stuff on, good sized counter, and plenty of shelf/storage underneath. We got a microwave delivered and there was also a small fridge already in the room. I asked for a luggage rack and extra towels/hand towels/wash cloths. The staff was so gracious getting our items in a timely manner. There were also two closets in our room. We really enjoyed the room. The beds were really comfortable. My only issue would be that the pillows are so flat. We asked for some others that were a little firmer. We slept really well on the beds. The lighting was good throughout the room. My son liked pushing the button that turned all the lights on or off at once. There also was a desk area that I could use my laptop. The guys out front that helped with our cabs or valet were also very nice and helpful. The hotel is expensive and they charge an extra $40 a day for destination fee. We were aware of this, and you can read what that fee is on their site. Although we spent a lot on the hotel, it was worth it to have a good room and location. There is a Walgreens right next door which is convenient. There is a small food market downstairs. I wish there was a restaurant or bigger lobby area, but that wasn’t a huge deal to us. You can get free water bottles throughout the stay because of the destination fee. There is a little area of benches outside the hotel. We went up to the 54th floor to the rooftop bar. It’s really cool being up there. At 10:30 they let families go up, so kids can also see it. Our hotel had good AC…we definitely cranked it because of the heat wave. I really loved this hotel, staff, and was happy we stayed here! Read less

We had an amazing stay at the Hyatt Centric Times Square! From start to finish, the staff really made us feel welcome. Dyana at the front desk was incredibly kind and helpful—even with my kids, which isn’t always easy! She made check-in feel personal and warm. While our room wasn’t quite ready at the 4PM check-in time, we came back around 5:30 and they did a quick walkthrough to get us in shortly after. No big deal, and they handled it quickly and professionally. A big shoutout to Mariona, who reached out before our stay to see if we needed anything. Thanks to her, we had the extra linens we needed for the kids, and she even upgraded us to a suite—which turned out to be the biggest hotel room we’ve ever stayed in while visiting NYC. It made a huge difference for our family. We also celebrated my husband’s birthday during our stay, and the surprise balloons in the room were such a thoughtful touch. It really made the whole experience extra special. We enjoyed the casual breakfast at T45—super convenient and the staff there were so friendly and welcoming. We do wish there were a few more food options, but it still hit the spot each morning. All in all, a fantastic experience and one of our favorite stays in the city. We’ll definitely be back! Read less
