“Fall family trip to New York - Times Square! Crushed it!”

Really liked the hotel - location was great, staff very friendly. From front desk to cleaning staff. Very clean hotel. Large rooms and large showers which I was not expecting. Felt secure and not noisy despite being near Times Square. Free water and fridge in the room. TV worked and easy to use. However, the food / breakfast was more to be desired. Microwaved, processed food was a big let down for a hot breakfast. We had a breakfast credit, but wished I had not credit and gone out for breakfast. We threw the food out. On day two, we decided to take sandwiches and snacks for a picnic lunch instead and found mould in the sandwiches. Looked at the best before date and they were all out of date. So we had to throw away the food. The location was great and we had a fabulous time. Two nights stayed here! Would recommend the hotel for sure. But not the food at the marketplace. Bar54 was very nice. We popped in for a drink to see the sunset!

The location is superb for mid town meetings. The executive suite is well appointed. The rest of the experience was nothing but a headache. The Thompson is definitely a better choice for seasoned business professionals.

“Rude staff member ruined our experience”

I was extremely disappointed with the checkout experience I had at the Hyatt Centric Times Square on October 27, 2025 around 1220pm. The front desk staff member, who appeared to be in his 20s/30s of Hispanic origin with tattoos on his arms, was unprofessional, rude and condescending. When I politely requested clarity on the charges that exceeded our allotted credit, he became defensive and refused to provide itemized receipts or even give us basic information on amount that was charged over the allotted credit. He kept pointing to his screen and repeating that we had gone over our limit without providing any further information. After insisting, he eventually provided the itemized receipt, which showed a minimal amount of $12 over the limit. This was frustrating because for such a small amount I wouldn't have cared to even be shown itemized receipt What was more concerning was this staff member's aggressive tone and refusal to provide his name. When I asked to speak with a manager, Tyler, he also declined to share the staff member's name. The staff member's behavior during my conversation with the manager/Tyler was also unprofessional as he hovered behind the desk and smirked. i couldn't help but notice that two front desk employees on duty at the time had clear name badges, which raises questions about whether this staff member's behavior is habitual. It's concerning to think that he may have treated other customers similarly, and that his lack of a name badge may be a deliberate choice to avoid accountability. The manager, Tyler, did listen to our concerns and apologizd, but I did not get the impression my concerns were being taken seriously. Despite having a good experience during our stay, the checkout experience was disappointing and has deterred us from booking another Hyatt property in the future. I hope the hotel takes necessary steps to address this issue and provide better customer service training to its staff.
