The good: Fantastic location for a hotel - literally everything is walkable in midtown and the subway is very close to get to other places. If you're coming from JFK, take the E train and exit off the correct spot to reach just under the hotel. The room was also well kempt and was relatively big, considering NYC standards. Bathroom fixtures are also modern and the cosmetics were high quality. The bad: There's some ridiculous price gouging in the hotel. Everything inside the room is 10X actual price, and it's easy to accidentally charge to the room. Further, they add a $40 amenity fee per night (I'm didn't find any "amenities") out of which $30 is applicable to the overpriced food as credit. This pushes you to dine in the in-house restaurant (The Stinger) which has very average food and drinks (+ is overpriced). This restaurant will not exist if not for the hotel "convincing" guests to dine there. We skipped the overpriced breakfast buffet as well considering the quality of the dinner from first night. There is not phone to customer service/front desk, all the service number does not give response to the billing issue we had, it's very frustrating and we have go to front desk in person for a simple billing question. 3. I ordered $60 breakfast, the charges becoming $84.00, but no bill to present. Overall, the experience is quite awful for an IHG hotel, I am disappointed, I am not sure IHG can be my first choice in my future trips. Read less

As a frequent guest at IHG hotels, and particularly InterContinental, I thought I knew what to expect. For these five nights, booked through a Diamond Elite card, the experience was a real disappointment, an outdated room, damaged furniture, and cleanliness clearly below expectations. The deafening air conditioning required a technician’s intervention at the very start of the stay. The worst part was the front desk staff extremely unpleasant, condescending, giving the clear impression that every request was a burden. The only positives were the breakfast team, who were friendly and professional, and the central location. But these few redeeming factors can’t make up for the obvious deterioration and the unacceptable attitude at reception. This hotel is simply unworthy of the InterContinental name. Read less
