The Barclay first opened its doors in 1926 under the aegis of the Vanderbilt family, quickly achieving a reputation as a hotel of distinction and exclusivity. Bette Davis, Marlon Brando and other celebrities have enjoyed its brand of hospitality in the past, now it's your turn! The hotel manages to combine old-world glamour with modern 21st-century functionality. Guests can enjoy an elegant residential design and state-of-the-art room facilities. There is also a health club for you to take advantage of. If you want to start and end your New York travel in style!

This hotel is one of a kind in NYC. It feels as coming home. Staff is impeccably and rooms are stylish and cozy.
The bar is a nice place to relax and we have had a nice meal there as well.
And a great extra perk : it’s location. Perfect to get to all the spots in NYC.
I already booked my next trip here!
Great location and beautiful hotel

I stayed here impromptu due to a flight cancellation. Beautiful hotel and a great location. The room was very nice and quiet. Housekeeping wasn't great; there was a half drunk bottle of water on the nightstand and the previous occupants pants were still in the bathroom.
Excepetional Experience

I had an unforgettable stay at the InterContinental. The room was stunning and the staff was exceptional. The general manager Sofia gave us amazing restaurant recommendations and the most magical New York City experience.

The InterContinental Barclay in New York offers an "old-world charm", such as the checkered bathroom floors and classic framed art over the bed. However, the overall experience falls short of expectations, especially considering the brand and nightly rate.
Service was polite but unremarkable, with no recognition of IHG elite status during check-in or throughout the stay. The room, while clean and well-maintained, didn’t justify the added premium. A “premium” room cost about US$50 more than the basic classic room, but the difference was marginal at best (if any). You’re better off saving that extra charge.
Breakfast was decent, offering the usual mix of hot and cold items. However, it’s served in the same space that doubles as the hotel bar at night, which unfortunately suffers from the lack of natural light.
Overall: A decent-looking property in NYC let down by underwhelming service and lack of elite perks.

First rate NYC hotel

As it is always, my stay at the Intercontinental Barclay in New York was fantastic. All of the staff particularly check-in at the ambassador desk, check out at the front desk and the cleaning staff go above and beyond all while being so friendly and helpful.
