Kimpton Hotel Eventi

Midtown, New York

Star rating

The hotel

It may sit in one of the world’s priciest zip codes, but the radically revamped Kimpton Hotel Eventi has taken over an entire block of Manhattan – proudly showing off that fact with a wall of street-level windows giving passers-by glimpses of its dining and drinking venues. Of course, as a guest, you get to experience the glitzy world beyond those windows (and beyond the view-grabbing floor-to-ceiling windows in every guestroom). Part chic hotel, part art gallery (both in keeping with its artsy Chelsea address), its new lobby feels more like a designer’s living room thanks to the fashion-forward furniture, coffee table books, and warmly lit artworks. And, within four blocks of the Empire State Building, The High Line, and Macy’s, there’s no shortage of dining outside, but Chef Laurent Tourondel has made ‘dining in’ a must, with his Italian-influenced and industrial-styled L’Amico and The Vine.

I’m a frequent Kimpton guest at the Santa Barbara Canary and Paris St Honoré locations, and had high expectations for my first stay at this NYC property. I can safely say the glass ceiling has been shattered! Starting with Chris greeting us at the front door and being a knowledgeable and awesome human being, we were soon met at the front desk by concierge extraordinaire Jennifer Z. She immediately checked us in and took great care of us! The suite we had was wonderful, with breathtaking views from the 19th floor. This was our first time in Chelsea and the close proximity to so many fun and delicious things (K-Town restaurants, Gregory’s Coffee, Starbucks Reseve, etc.) made this a very walkable location, despite the heat! The Eventi is definitely a permanent stay for me from here on! Pro tip: Check out Kimpton’s social media for special perks 😉 Read less

My partner and I visited over a long Fourth of July weekend. We were very impressed with the cleanliness, friendliness and location of the hotel. And the hotel staff, was simply extraordinary - especially the doorman, Chris, and front desk staff Fernando, who deserve special recognition.
