Lotte New York Palace

Midtown, New York

Star rating

The hotel

Railroad magnate Henry Villard's 19th-century mansions were combined with a sleek tower to create one of the city's best hotels. It's a place where the staff greet you as if they have known you all their lives, and nothing is too much trouble. The location is one of the best in Manhattan, right in the middle of Midtown, but hidden away in a gated courtyard. There's dining options suited to all at the Lotte New York Palace, from luxury brunch to baked goods, whatever you opt for you'll be in for a treat. Enjoy handmade cocktails in one of Manhattan's most popular bars, Trouble's Trust, or relax in 19th century-style surroundings in Rarities - either make for the perfect post-day-in-the-city tipples.

A wonderful historic hotel in the center of it all! Great for couples or families! It was my second time staying there and I will be back! The line for checkout was pretty long, so account for extra time, however, it was a busy weekend for the hotel

Mimi and her team are first rate and I highly suggest working with them for any stay while in New York. The hotel is a historical landmark and situated in the perfect location to get anywhere you need with ease. Read less

I stayed in the Towers, Corner Suite - room, hotel, service, staff, space are terrific - for both business and family. Terrific concierge staff to help and orchestrate almost anything I threw at them for my business and family stay.

Last night was my first night. I arrived at approx 730pm, had a quick shower after checking into my room and did a quick tour of the room. I noticed that the control for the lights (the lamps don’t have their own switches) was not working. As I left the hotel about 30 mins later, I advised at reception and was told it would be fixed. I arrived back shortly after 2am and this wasn’t fixed (it’s now 3pm the next day and it still isn’t fixed). I called the service desk and was told someone would come up. 15 mins later I went down to reception and was confronted by an obnoxious, aggressive night manager who came right up to my face, trying to start a fight, when I told him his comment that “things breaking even in 7 star hotels” was ridiculous and that I know things breaking even, but they also get fix and a simple thing like turning off lights shouldn’t be a challenge. When eventually someone came to my room with the manager, again he was rude as apparently I’m suppose to know that another random device and not the controls right next to the bed also work to operate the lights. As I spoke, he turned his back and walked off muttering something. The guy was worse than obnoxious and should not be in customer service, never mind the night manager of a supposed 5 star hotel charging 700 dollars a night. Read less
