Overall a really good stay at the MARRIOT Marquis The team at Marriott did their best to accommodate all our requests and most of the staff were super helpful. (We had one sub optimal experience which was quickly and politely corrected - thank you!) The hotel has spacious and comfortable rooms with great air conditioning. The $40 per night resort fee can be offset against food and drinks, but it expires every day and doesn’t go that far as the food and drink in the hotel is expensive (as is New York). Location is on Times Square which is very a very busy, vibrant and at times noisy area. We used earplugs as it was noisy from 10pm to the early hours outside. Very central and easy to get to most places but the trade off is convenience vs a very busy area. Security were insistent on seeing cards during the day to get in, but this didn’t seem to happen in the evening which was odd….. We didn’t experience any issues with the lifts which was mentioned in some reviews - all super quick and easy (and it was busy). Had to query the bill and the allocation of the resort fee which has still to be resolved Overall a good experience - thank you team Marriott Read less

Not sure why there's a difference of $10.50 from my confirmation, but I'll take it! A group of us take a yearly NYC trip from San Francisco. I typically stay at another property from another hotel loyalty program, but Marriott recently acquired that hotel. I was looking to use my FNC, but by the time I went to book, the price went up and I could no longer use it there. Found this hotel and even tho it's in Times Square (which I try to avoid), it was the closest to our friends hotels, which were closer to Central Park. And one of the only hotels with two bed rooms where I could use the FNC. The M Club is a great perk for having platinum status. You get a separate key card for it and are granted access for two. Went and grabbed coffee a few times. And checked out breakfast once. They had a pretty good and varied spread. One of the breakfast staff was fun, talkative, and gave us some suggestions on what to do in the area. We tipped him which he seemed surprised about. But they help out and I think they buss the tables, so why not? We got upgraded and were granted late check out. I believe the room was exactly the same. You just get a nice view of Times Square. I adored the late check out at 4pm. I actually called once the night before and once the day of check out to see if I could get a late one. They said they would only grant me a 2pm check out. This is a conference hotel, so I guess it's not guaranteed. I also requested it thru the app. I was actually given a 4pm check out there, so not sure why I wouldn't get one by calling. I guess I won't look a gift horse in the mouth. What I found weird about this hotel is housekeeping did not come by once during our stay. And I purposely brought smaller bills for tip money. Idk if you have to request it thru the app, but one thing to ask about if you stay here. They do offer robes and slippers. You just have to call and ask for them. Our phone was broken when we first arrived and the shampoo pump wasn't working. They quickly sent a new phone and shampoo bottle for us. My one gripe about all Marriott hotels? The destination fee. I don't mind paying it since they give it back to you to spend at the hotel. But I think it's stupid it resets every day at noon. We only took advantage of it once when we went to the rotating restaurant / lounge upstairs. It would be nice if they could just credit the entire amount and you use it any time you want. Who spends that much time at their hotel?! I'm here to check out NYC! Overall, a nice hotel if you want to stay in Times Square. It's very big and very busy, so it's basically just a place to stay. No personalization in service or anything like that. Other than the housekeeping thing, I had a nice stay. Read less

The suite was very comfortable, and the view was fantastic. I was overlooking the iconic Times Square scene where the ball drops each new years. I loved my stay here, but the lights were so bright that I had trouble sleeping, even with the curtains drawn. Bring a sleep mask!

The front desk was so nice and upgraded me despite not having a high tier in their membership program. Usually I stay with hilton but I wanted a hotel right in the heart of Times Square and I’m so glad that I choose this hotel. Rooms were okay but expected a little better. This hotel is great value for its money for sure. Thank you to the staff who made the hotel experience!!! Read less
