Where do I begin, granted the hotel has a dozen elevators, yet the group behind their programming had to be truly incompetent (if you ever make the mistake of booking, you will understand my statement). The entire business ideology is predatory and pathetic. Here in NYC, the streets are littered with some of the best dining in the country, yet Marriott won’t give guests any access to reheating or preparing food. Doesn’t matter if you have leftovers from a Michelin star restaurant, the hotel has no microwaves, ovens, stovetops, etc. as there greedy business model desperately wants you to dine at their restaurants and bakeries with goods that have been under heat lamps for days. I employed you to pay attention to the donuts and pastries in their bakery and you will notice the same donuts and banana nut loafs that have been sitting in the counter for days (I wish I could provide the images of this shoddy establishment). Additionally, if you don’t spend $40 a day on their sub par food then they charge $40 for that day. Once again, in NYC surrounded by some of the best eats in the world, yet they charge you for not eating their stale ass food. Furthermore, they are so money “savvy” that their cleaning staff will change your room thermostat to save energy, because there is nothing better than exploring NYC just to come back to your hotel and find that it is just as cold as it is outside. We left the thermostat between 75-80 everyday in hopes of having a warm comfortable place to return to after exploring the chilly city just to discover that house keeping turns it down to 50-60. Even after calling the front desk multiple times asking them not too, they refuse, who knows, maybe the cleaning staff just love that temp. Additionally, this is the only hotel I’ve stayed at where the employees act like giving out water comes directly from their paycheck. This is the only hotel I’ve been in where I can ask the receptionist desk for waters to be delivered to my room and they hand me two mini water bottles then inform me “that is enough and you can head back to your room”, another guest saw them give me water and asked for some and the receptionist had the audacity to tell him no, you have to reserve the waters. This is a truly greedy business. Additionally, we went to the Cursed child broadway show, bought the limited edition cursed child cup souvenirs, and they were thrown out by the cleaning staff. 2 cups, each costing $22, gone. We asked the office if they could find them or compensate them, of course they refused, why couldn’t they. This is the greediest hotel model I’ve ever had the displeasure of encountering and I will spend the rest of my life recommending to my friends and family to avoid at all costs. I’ve been to broken down motels that have had kinder staff than this. 0/10, would never recommend.
