“Brilliant hotel”

My wife and I visited New York for 5 days and stayed at the Riu Plaza Manhattan in Times Square. The hotel was great, it was clean and the rooms were plenty big enough. We didn’t experience wait times with the elevators, even given we were on floor 31 and it was Black Friday/thanksgiving weekend. The rooms were the cleanest I think we’ve stayed in. Our view was fantastic. An iron, ironing board, shampoo, conditioner and body wash was all provided by the hotel. In the hotel was also the restaurant and their “Grab n Go” counter. We didn’t use the restaurant but Grab n Go was a great way to get drinks and snacks quickly and easily. Plus, they were delicious! It was very Christmassy and in a convenient location. Busy area if you exit to go to the Times Square direction, but exiting left out of the hotel, or north towards Central Park, was fine. We mostly went through Times Square regardless as it wasn’t the worst thing in the world. The evenings were busier than other times of day. Only downfall was the taxi booked via the hotel being late, even though I booked 24 hours beforehand and came 30 minutes early, asking that they request it earlier if possible. Unfortunately that led to us being delayed at the airport and literally making the boarding with a few minutes to spare. Leave plenty of time for that. Regardless, the hotel itself was brilliant and I wouldn’t stay anywhere else if I returned.

“Great experience”

Great location for time square and subway. Very easy to get to from JFK, after getting the airtrain to Jamaica, and then you have a selection of subways to pick. Rooms are spotlessly clean and cleaned daily by an amazing cleaning team, there are no carpets so great for asthmatics. Lifts can be slow in the morning but once your aware of it, it makes it easier. Breakfast is lovely and a good selection and the staff have the whole operation. Run so smoothly for the amount of people there is. Second time staying here and didn't disappoint.

“60th Birthday Visit”

Stayed at this hotel when we visited New York for my husbands 60th Birthday celebrations. On arrival after a long flight from Heathrow, check in was very easy and fast. We got to our room, 3903, to find it decorated with balloons and a banner for the Birthday Boy! We also had chocolates put in the room after we came back after a long day sightseeing. A very thoughtful touch. We stayed for 5 nights and had no complaints whatsoever. Right in the heart of New York and so close to Times Square and many more iconic attractions, this is perfect for your stay. Room cleaned well every day and breakfast was really good. Plenty of choice and a well organised system of seating you. The hotel is very busy but we didn't wait at all in queues for breakfast. The lifts were brilliant, not too long to wait at all. All staff were fabulous and friendly. Would not hesitate to stay here again if we come back to this fantastic city.
