The hotel itself is stylish and modern, offering both comfort and functionality for solo travellers and couples alike. The outdoor terrace at Highball is a particular highlight. Look over the heart of the city whilst you enjoy innovative cocktails and delicious sharing plates, whatever time of day. There are bicycles available to explore further out, but if you want to keep your feet on the ground - there's so much within walking distance, and you're never far from a subway station either.

“Great location, shocking food”

We stayed 2 nights at this hotel on 24th June 2026. Let’s start with the positives. Unbeatable location right in the heart of Times Square. Rooms are ultra modern if very small, but hey this is prime time real estate in the heart of NY, so we weren’t expecting it to be spacious. The bathroom was also modern & spotless. Staff were super friendly & the hotel is spotlessly clean. Now for the downsides. The modern technology means that the blinds automatically raise every time you walk in the bedroom, meaning you can be seen by people in the building opposite ( yep, we could also see into rooms across the street ) as you scramble to hit the switch to lower the blinds. This led to major anxiety that we would hit the wrong bedside switch to turn on a light & also inadvertently raise the blinds. I would have loved a more basic way of controlling the blinds like a roller chain. Now for the worst bit which for us was a dealbreaker meaning we would not return. On our first night we ate in their restaurant. We paid 135 dollars for a flat iron steak & a chicken dish. Whilst the chicken was ok, the steak was probably the worst I’ve ever had, tough, fatty & overcooked. Considering they charge double for the same dishes in other local Times Square eateries it was not what I’d expect from a Hilton hotel which trades on the Hilton name. The final straw was the included breakfast via a 50 dollar credit to the room per day. The food was served with disposable plates & cutlery that wouldn’t cut through the terrible chewy & hard food. It was so bad in fact that we skipped the paid for breakfast on day two & ate in the local mc Donald’s on broadway street. I’d be embarrassed if I represented Hilton hotels if I thought guests were skipping paid meals to eat at mc Donald’s. In summary, the hotel is clean & modern in an unbeatable location, rooms are small but adequate, staff are attentive & friendly, but the food was so shocking that I’d never go back. Always thought staying at the Hilton sounded posh, but the reality of eating a poor breakfast from disposable plates & cutlery was far from an upmarket experience. If Tempo addressed these issues then it would be a worthy of recommendation…. But not as it currently is.

My stay at Tempo by Hilton Times Square exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the hotel's modern design, spotless cleanliness, and welcoming atmosphere. The check-in process was quick and smooth, and every member of the staff was friendly, professional, and genuinely eager to help. The room was beautifully designed, very comfortable, and surprisingly quiet despite being located in one of the busiest areas of New York City. The bed was extremely comfortable, the bathroom was modern and spotless, and everything felt well maintained. After long days of exploring the city, it was the perfect place to relax and recharge. One of the biggest advantages of this hotel is its unbeatable location in the heart of Times Square. Stepping outside the hotel, you're immediately surrounded by the bright lights, giant digital billboards, world-famous theaters, restaurants, shops, and the incredible energy that makes New York so unique. Times Square truly comes alive at night, and it's an unforgettable experience to simply walk around, enjoy the atmosphere, watch the street performers, and take in the iconic skyline. Many of New York City's top attractions, including Broadway, Rockefeller Center, Bryant Park, and Fifth Avenue, are all within walking distance, while nearby subway stations make it easy to reach every corner of the city. Breakfast was another highlight of my stay. The selection was fresh, delicious, and offered plenty of variety, making it a great way to start each morning before heading out to explore. What really made this stay memorable was the exceptional hospitality. Every interaction with the hotel team was positive, and they consistently went above and beyond to ensure guests felt welcome. If you're looking for a stylish, modern hotel with outstanding service and one of the best locations in New York City, Tempo by Hilton Times Square is an excellent choice. Whether you're visiting for sightseeing, shopping, Broadway shows, or business, this hotel offers everything you need for a comfortable and memorable stay. I would gladly stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting New York.

The security team is phenomenal. I left a few items in my room. Within 2 hours of checking out, they called me, inventoried the items, and had them shipped to me for an extremely low cost.
