The hotel

The Knickerbocker Hotel is a historic gem right in the middle of New York City's Times Square. Opened back in 1906, this luxury spot has been a go-to for celebrities and big names over the years. It's famous for its stunning Beaux-Arts architecture. After being closed for a while and going through some changes, it made a grand comeback in 2015 with a major renovation. We had a wonderful experience at the knickerbocker especially the staff. Gania was so attentive and so nice to all of us and made the breakfast time a delight. We really enjoyed the rooms and how quiet it was. Overall great experience and would highly recommend.

I had a great experience at The Knickerbocker! As others have noted, the location is fantastic if for Broadway shows and subway access. The hotel is situated in a very walkable area with many food options and conveniences very close by (Whole Foods is at the end of the block, CVS is 1-2 blocks away, Joes's Pizza is 5 min walk, and many fast casual spots as well as restaurants are all in a stone's throw). It is a great hotel and I plan to go back (it is a 5 star hotel but realistically for the price point, you are not going to get Peninsula or Ritz experience, and that was ok! Truly it was a good stay!) Other points about the hotel: - Quiet - Bedding and towels were nice - Robes and slippers provided - Water pressure in the shower was good - Room service was fast and ok (what I ordered wasn't great but I think that was just my taste/expectation). Limited menu after 10 pm. - I rarely waited for the elevator - Windows open a bit for fresh air What set my experience apart was fantastic experience with the following people: - Jared: Doorman. Jared provided excellent directions to Joe's Pizza on Broadway and suggested a backup spot if the line was too long at Joe's. What I appreciated most was that he remembered me and took the time to exchange a few friendly words. When in a different city, sometimes even the simplest directions feel complicated and Jared helped me out with kindness. - Pauola: Pauloa was working at the reception desk when I needed to change my payment method before checkout. She provided excellent customer service, was incredibly polite and followed up with me quickly to confirm a few follow-up issues. She also offered me something from the coffee shop for my trouble (which was really no trouble at all). - Then when I was leaving with my luggage and my hands full, there were no doormen available so a gentleman that was behind the concierge desk went out of his way to hold the door for me, went outside in the freezing cold and confirmed my Uber and helped with my luggage. He also helped me decide between Uber and cab to the airport. Apologies, I did not catch his name but I'm certain he was a concierge. Read less

Just a few minutes away from all of the Broadway theaters. The thing that amazed me most was how quiet the room was. Although the hotel is located right on Times Square, the soundproofing in my room on the 11th floor blocked out all of the noise from below. It was a very calm refuge each night, giving for a restful sleep. The room itself was spacious, the bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom facilities were excellent, with a large rainfall shower and thick towels. Also plenty of counter space for toiletries. Every member of the staff with whom I interacted was helpful and pleasant. I would recommend the Knickerbocker without hesitation. Read less

Wonderful reception area and staff. The room was spacious, modern, with robe and slippers! Significantly the staff was attentive, friendly, and interested in actually helping you out with answers. The bars and restaurant are excellent areas to have a drink, relax, enjoy a great meal. Rooftop champagne is a must!
