I stayed recently for weekend and location is perfect, some of staff are nice and few are just there as bodies. But I heard that about many Ny union run hotels and its mediocre service. Some guys are just like statues like are part of the decor. Breakfast restaurant and rooftop are nice with good food. Didnt try the steakhouse. Room service… Read more

The entire staff was amazing, courteous, and professional at all times. This hotel (and staff) exceeds a 5-star rating.

We have recently returned from a 7 night visit to New York and had a wonderful stay at the Knickerbocker. Our room was large with two comfortable beds, a massive bathroom with a huge walk-in shower and plenty of storage for clothes etc (we did ask for more coat hangers and these were quickly brought up to our room). Our view wasn't brilliant but it didn't really bother us as we were just sleeping in there and the added bonus to this was that we couldn't hear any noise from the city that never sleeps! We had breakfast each morning which was excellent with plenty of choice on the buffet (our son also had steak and eggs a couple of times which he really enjoyed). The hotel is extremely well situated with easy access to the subways and it wasn't too far to walk to a number of areas/attractions and restaurants. All the hotel staff who we interacted with during our stay were very professional but a big thank you in particular to Victor, Migdalia, Janelle, and Gania. They were all so friendly and really went out of their way to make sure we had a great time. They were all very knowledgeable about NYC and every time we saw each of them, they always enquired about where we had been and what we had done. Great customer service! We can't wait to return to New York and will definitely stay at the Knickerbocker again. Read less

We had a terrible experience at the Knickerbocker Hotel in New York. • Nowhere was it clearly stated that guests under 21 cannot check in, even if the room is prepaid. We had to urgently call a friend over 21 just to check in — completely unacceptable. • Staff were unhelpful and rude, showing zero flexibility or courtesy. • Extending the stay? Impossible — again, only if someone over 21 is present in person. • Meanwhile, hotels like Hilton and Marriott allow 18+ check-in without any hassle. • On top of all that, the fire alarm went off, and there was no clear coordination or communication from the hotel staff. This hotel does not deserve its reputation — poor management, inflexible policies, and bad service. Would not recommend to anyone, especially younger travelers. Read less
