The Knickerbocker Hotel is a historic gem right in the middle of New York City's Times Square. Opened back in 1906, this luxury spot has been a go-to for celebrities and big names over the years. It's famous for its stunning Beaux-Arts architecture. After being closed for a while and going through some changes, it made a grand comeback in 2015 with a major renovation. Now, it offers modern comforts while keeping its old-school charm.

Jake’s at the Knick

I have been going to Jake’s at the Knick (the lovely cafe in the hotel!) almost daily for close to a year now. I work in the neighborhood and stumbled in one day when I was on the hunt for some great coffee that’s not Starbucks.

I have been going to Jake’s at the Knick (the lovely cafe in the hotel!) almost daily for close to a year now. I work in the neighborhood and stumbled in one day when I was on the hunt for some great coffee that’s not Starbucks.
The coffee is fantastic, as are the pastries, but it’s really the people that keep me coming back again and again. Marilyn and Saiful work at Jake’s nearly every day, and I really have become friends with them over the months of going to the cafe for my morning coffee. I always walk in to a cheerful greeting and can expect a lovely conversation with the two of them while I wait for my drink. After a month or so, Mary and Sai had my order completely memorized, and they always have my latte in progress as soon as they see me open the front door!
Highly recommend popping into Jake’s for a coffee or snack if you’re in the neighborhood, and to give Sai and Mary a warm hello!

We ordered room service once and ate at Jake's twice, both were tasty and convenient. Definitely want to return in the future!!

Beautiful hotel, lovely staff

The hotel was absolutely beautiful, well appointed and the staff was amazing. It was difficult to access room service, however, (our room phone didn’t work and couldn’t get through so we had to go to the front desk) and I wish that the roof bar was open past ten. Would definitely stay again.
