The Knickerbocker Hotel is a historic gem right in the middle of New York City's Times Square. Opened back in 1906, this luxury spot has been a go-to for celebrities and big names over the years. It's famous for its stunning Beaux-Arts architecture. After being closed for a while and going through some changes, it made a grand comeback in 2015 with a major renovation. Now, it offers modern comforts while keeping its old-school charm.

This was our first time in NYC and the City didn't disappoint - absolutely incredible.
The Knickerbocker Hotel is in the perfect location for all the key tourist activities in Manhattan and is aesthetically very nice with a great rooftop bar.
The Concierge team were also very pleasant and helpful.
There were, however a few disappointments which made the hotel not great value for money and means we're unlikely to return next time we visit NY:
1. We paid for a 'Deluxe Room with Two Queen Beds' which is advertised as "overlooking the glitter of Times Square". This was absolutely not the case and instead we had a view of a messy courtyard-type area in between our hotel and the next building. We were really disappointed as clearly the website is misleading. This was addressed with the hotel via one of their early feedback surveys, to which no response or acknowledgment arrived.
2. On two separate occasions we returned to our hotel ready to chillout after a hot day only to find our door key didn't work. Both times the Reception team resolved the problem quickly, but it was annoying having to go back down to the front desk, especially when the lifts in the hotel are generally very slow to arrive. On neither occasion was an apology given.
3. Despite there being four of us occupying the room, it wasn't until day 3 of our trip (and after having asked three times) did we get more than 2 glasses and towel sets for the room.
Point 2 and 3 above are of course minor, but highlight that the service levels probably aren't at the five star level we'd paid for.
All in all, whilst we'd give NY a firm 10 out of 10, the hotel was probably a 7.5 at best, which is a shame when paying for 5 star.

Our experience at the hotel was exceptional. The property itself is stunning, complemented by the remarkable hospitality of the staff. Additionally, the location is superb, making it an ideal choice for visitors. We are certainly looking forward to returning in the future.
Great hotel in the ideal location

The hotel is ideally located just off Times Square. The room was quite large and there was no noise pollution from the street. All in all I was delighted with the Knickerbocker hotel and would highly recommend it
A pity that the receptionist was so rude

Our overall stay was great. The bedroom was comfortable and big. We really liked. The reception could have more seats, like, to wait. It was a shame that our last experience at the hotel, the check out was done by an extramally moody and rude attendant.
Second visit and love it here!!

Quality hotel on W42nd, situated in great location between Times Square and Bryant Park. Hotel is beautiful and rooms are lovely and also pretty spacious by NY standards! Great coffee shop on property and fun rooftop bar. Staff are super friendly and can’t do enough for you. Suitable for couples, families and business travel. Would 100% recommend!!
