Hotel was great - got a globalist upgrade to a studio suite, guest services was quick to get me an extra robe and bar soap (I don’t like body wash), and the Durga bath products were a great luxe touch. Bed was comfy and overall the room was very nice. I would say I even prefer it to the Park Hyatt in many ways. Hotel is very up to date, modern, clean and chic. My only complaint was breakfast took a really long time for a bfast sando and avocado toast. I imagine a lot of stays are business travelers given the menu pricing ($100 w gratuity for what we ordered, coffee, latte and juice) — however the pace of service is not reflective of a business travelers needs. Once I told them I needed them to speed up, our food came out. Unfortunately, by that point, My husband and I were both already late for our meetings. Besides that, I’ll definitely stay again. Staying at the Thompson Central Park is one of my favorite parts about visiting New York. Everything about the hotel, from the beautiful rooms to the friendly and helpful staff, is top-notch. The beds are so comfortable that it's hard to get up and out for the day. I highly recommend The Burger Joint, too.

We had an awful experience. Bad comforter, shower didn't work, waited forever for a fruit plate to share for breakfast before giving up and going elsewhere, right down to the missing battery in the TV remote. We complained several times and were promised things would be fixed right away - empty promises. We will never stay here again.

Fabulous Jazz night on Thursdays. All of the Above blew the roof off the Arcade again this week!! Ajada is amazing and the band is tight! Starts at 6 and went to 10. the waitstaff is cool and the place was rocking at the end of the night. a true hidden gem!

We were underwhelmed by our stay as a family of four traveling during the holidays and since this is the only Hyatt out of multiple hotels that week that didn’t send me a survey, I’m guessing they knew it could have been better, too. When we first arrived to check in, there was a very nice lady at the desk, who let us know our room was not ready yet, which was understandable as we arrived a bit before check in time. We left our bags and returned after receiving the text saying our room was ready, and someone new was behind the counter. She started whispering to the person next to her, and they seemed to do some room shuffling in the computer. Meanwhile, no one is looking at us or speaking to us, but finally we get our room key and sent on our way. Our bellhop, an older gentleman, was excellent. He brought us extra slippers and gave us tips about where to find a 24-hour grocery store. He was personable and helpful and the best interaction we had that stay. Once in our room, we quickly realized we had some bizarre bathroom plumbing issues. Since we only had one night there and clearly the hotel was busy, I didn’t notify the desk, That evening was windy and cold so we came back early and tried to order chicken nuggets, fries, and hot chocolate for the kids via room service. They let us know it was an hour and a half to two hour wait and they had run out of chicken tenders. Hot chocolate and fries sufficed. It was a nice touch that they provided whipped cream, plus a carafe of hot chocolate along with 4 cups despite only ordering two. The luggage hold at the front doors is strange and chaotic at check out. We did not eat at Parker’s, though I noticed about an hour after check in we had a bill for it. To their credit, they “did some investigating” and were able to remove it from our bill. I heard from others the wait for food was abnormally long and the food just average. Because of its positioning, it’s basically in a hallway with foot traffic and cold air blowing in, so we chose to dine elsewhere. The location is incredible and the hotel is beautiful, but it just did not delight me. Read less
