The hotel’s location was one of its biggest advantages. It was conveniently located just a couple of blocks from Penn Station, Times Square, and many other popular New York City attractions, making it easy to get around the city.
When I arrived, I was quickly greeted by the front desk attendant and had a smooth check-in experience. One thing to note is that this is a very small hotel. There is only one elevator, and it is extremely slow. If you don’t mind waiting, it’s manageable, but it definitely became an inconvenience during my stay. The elevator was working, but I often chose to take the stairs instead, walking down four floors and up three floors each day, which became a bit frustrating.
The room itself was very clean, neat, and seemed well maintained. I appreciated the small suite-style kitchenette, which was a convenient feature and gave the room a little more functionality, especially for a longer stay.
However, I did encounter an issue with the bathroom. There appeared to be a small gnat issue or nest in the shower drain area, with several gnats flying around. It was annoying and, in my opinion, raised some concerns about cleanliness and hygiene perhaps with the city drain. I contacted the front desk to see if there were any other rooms available, but the hotel was fully booked during my stay, so I had to remain in the same room.
The hotel does offer complimentary breakfast, which included items such as sausage, eggs, bagels, oatmeal, and coffee. It was nothing elaborate, but it was a nice convenience to have available. I only used the breakfast once during my stay since it wasn’t really the type of meal I normally eat, but I appreciated the option.
Overall, this hotel is a decent choice for travelers looking to save a little money while staying in the heart of Manhattan. The location is excellent, and the rooms are clean and functional. However, due to the extremely slow elevator and the gnat issue in my bathroom, I would probably not choose this particular location again for a future New York City stay.
