“Very Large Room.”

Not crazy about Times Square (was there for a meeting, there are places in mid-town I prefer), but this is by NY standards an excellent hotel for its price range. The room was the largest room I have ever stayed at in NY, larger than what you’d see in some other cities, which makes it very large by NY standards.

We have stayed here before because of the location being near Times Square. Hotel seems like it hasn't changed or upgraded in several years. Basic rooms, a little larger than other older properties. What really ticked me off is the ridiculous money grab they call a $40/day Destination Fee. Do I really need to have a list or things I don't want to do thrust at me for the low low price of $40/day + taxes on top of the room rate? As a Platinum member I already receive breakfast and wifi, so those two benefits are lost on me. We did use the Foundry Kitchen $20/day credit on three days, but when you take into consideration the cost of food and beverage in that location, you end up spending far more than the $20 credit, which is what the hotel wants you to do. Going on a Free Freedom Liberty Cruise or Visiting American Museum of Natural History wasn't in our plans, so that wasn't used, nor did we use the Free Comedy Club offer. Basically the Destination Fee is just a bunch of crap to pad the profitability of the hotel. I wish a good class action firm would go after these hotels for gouging like this. Just because lots of hotels try to charge these fees doesn't mean it's right or in the clients best interest.

Awful outdated rooms….super unclean, location was awesome staff amazing…..but £3500 for 2 rooms is 100% unacceptable when other newer hotels are a similar price…..booking sell this as a 5 star rating not sure how because if you actually read reviews most people complain about the dated and grubby rooms ……beware its pants….its also popular with functions so if the commotion outside doesn’t get you the din from inside will and to top it off they charge me another £150 after we had checked out ……..for nothing
