Properly outfitted and we were extremely impressed with our contemporarily decorative spacious room. Additionally, location is perfectly placed near all of the excitement of Time Square and excellent eateries. The properties friendly and proactively helpful staff left a lasting impression, most especially its staff on the ground floor. My niece, Davette Hanna Lundy, who is a very popular Travel Agent booked the room. However, I am a gold Bonvoy member so I will definitely be back to this amazingly beautiful property. Read less

What a poor experience from a great brand. Rooms weren’t clean, staff was unfriendly (even by NY standards), the lobby was crowded. I asked for more coffee packs in the room, and it took a few hours to arrive. The iron was broken—and almost caused us to be delayed for our event. We were here three nights and I am just glad to go. Which is why this was doubly disappointing! Read less

As for convenience of location to Times Square and other tourist sites in the area, the address speaks for itself. One note, I read some of the negative reviews others had left on line and wondered, beforehand, if we made a mistake booking the hotel, but I have to wonder if those folks just had the occasional bad stay or if they were just unfair. We had no problems at all and very much enjoyed being in this hotel. Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Disappointing and unprofessional staff at the Foundry Bar & Kitchen – far below Westin standards

We stayed at the Westin Times Square from August 14–19 and were offered a $20 daily credit for the Foundry Bar & Kitchen. Unfortunately, using that credit became the worst part of our stay. The staff at this restaurant and bar consistently displayed an attitude that was astonishingly dismissive and unprofessional. Whether you dine in or take food to-go, they automatically add an 18% “service charge.” When questioned, the explanation given was, “We prepared the drink/food for you, so we’re entitled to this fee.” This is not only unreasonable, it’s completely at odds with the standards of hospitality expected at a five-star property. Even more concerning was the overall tone and demeanor of the team. The way guests are spoken to — particularly by the restaurant manager, Mr. Bradley — is arrogant, confrontational, and utterly lacking in basic courtesy. It was made abundantly clear that guest satisfaction was not a priority. As Marriott premium members who have stayed at Westin properties in Singapore and Guangzhou, we know how outstanding Westin service can be. This experience was the complete opposite. Ironically, while we met many warm and welcoming people throughout New York, this restaurant — inside a Westin hotel — embodied every negative stereotype of “New York rudeness.” The Foundry Bar & Kitchen staff are not just underperforming — they undermine the reputation of the Westin brand. I strongly urge Marriott management to address this immediately, as no guest at a flagship property should be treated this way. Read less

A great location for us as 1st time visitors to NYC. Convenient to subways, walkable to highline, Rockefeller center, 5th ave if you like shopping, theaters, Times Square, and Madison square garden. I have no complains about the room, it was clean and comfortable, we were on the 44th floor and the views were awesome and we did not hear street noise at night. There was no fridge or microwave though. The hotel allows you to store your luggage at the hotel on the day of checkout so if you have a later flight as we did you can still enjoy your day and come back to get the luggage later. The required $40 destination fee is ridiculous but likely typical. We were given a $20 room credit to use each day but we never did use it because it is not cumulative , you only have the $20 per night and if you don't use it you lose it. My sister in another room did end up going down and getting a $12 coffee a couple mornings which the credit covered. I probably should have tried to at least get a dessert or something each night to bring back to the room but I didn't. If we ever get back to NYC I would definitely consider staying here again.
