The location was close to Central Park and also the Subway. Staff were friendly. For a family of five, the space was good. We had two queen beds and a sofa sleeper in the living area in the apartment suite. There is not enough lighting in the bedroom. You needed to pull up the privacy shades to get decent lighting. Also there was no air conditioning. We asked but they said the air conditioning for the entire hotel had not been turned on yet. It was 85F and humid. New York never sleeps, and in our room on the 5th floor facing the street, you do not get to sleep either. It was noisy. Garbage trucks, delivery trucks parked outside, a crane doing some hoisting, some other service vehicle suctioning something, and even emergency vehicles outside. Granted it was timing of our stay, but if you choose to stay here, ask for a quiet room in the back of the hotel. Would stay here again with a family, as long as it was in a room away from the street. Read less

Nice hotel with an excellent location, close to several metro stations and within walking distance of Central Park. Lots of restaurants nearby. I came “home” to New York for Thanksgiving, having lived in Los Angeles for 28 years. I’ve stayed in many hotels in Manhattan, selecting locations that are convenient to whatever family event, business conference, wedding, or vacation destination I’m in town for. I think I’ve found my new fave spot. The Upper East Side location is what attracted me, as my Thanksgiving celebration on Park Ave in the 70’s was nearby. I have stayed in midtown on the westside and been detained by Thanksgiving parade traffic. The hotel is so ideally suited for so many subways! There are great restaurants, stores and Bloomingdales right there, and some of the best hospitals in the world are on the block for those in town for surgeries. The terrace was awesome too, with lovely furniture to sit on if it wasn’t cold out. The staff is utterly amazing and they upgraded me to a suite with a terrace that obviously enhanced my stay. Brew yourself some coffee or tea in the lobby lounge/business center and delight in people watching. I loved it. Great toiletries in the spacious bathroom await you after you awaken from that super comfy bed! I travel a lot and this was a winner! Thank you😀 Read less
