I stayed at the Hotel Beacon in New York from March 30 to April 4, and while the stay itself was fine, what happened afterward was completely unacceptable. On April 30, the hotel charged my credit card over €287 without any explanation or prior notice. Since then, my travel agency and I have been repeatedly contacting the hotel requesting a credit note and a clear explanation for the charge. Despite multiple follow-ups, we have received no response at all. The lack of communication and accountability is extremely unprofessional and disappointing, especially from a hotel of this level. Until this issue is resolved, I cannot recommend the Hotel Beacon. Travelers deserve transparency and respect—neither of which we received. Read less

We are so grateful to all of the staff at Hotel Beacon. We had a family emergency and needed to converge on the Upper West Side of NYC. From our first call with the reservation team to the check-in at the front desk to the housekeeping staff, everyone was welcoming, gracious, responsive and helpful. We are so grateful. We booked 2 2-bedroom suites and 1 studio. All of these were comfortable and spotlessly clean. The location is also ideal for so many reasons. Hotel Beacon -- many thanks. Read less

We did an extended stay at this hotel while we did some light remodeling at our apartment down the street. Loved everything about it. Staff are great, rooms comfortable and it's convenient to everything. Kitchenettes are very handy. Would highly recommend.

While the room was a little outdated, the beds and pillows were incredibly comfortable, and housekeeping kept everything spotless each day. The location is fantastic, in a lovely Upper West Side neighborhood. My teenage girls were thrilled with the Sephora right across the street—never crowded, unlike the ones in SoHo or on 5th Ave, which made shopping a pleasure! Also there is a cookie crumbl a few mins walk from the hotel which they loved. We weren’t sure we’d use the subway before the trip, but it was just a few minutes’ walk from the hotel and turned out to be so much quicker than Ubers at busy times. Hotel is in great location walking distance to central park and natural history muesum and short subway to most other places we visited. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Our only small critique is the hotel has no bar even the café next door could make a fortune with a little renovation and some inviting outdoor seating instead of just an awning. Overall, a great place to stay when visiting New York, and we’d definitely book again! Read less

We stayed for 12 nights in a very comfortable spacious and well-furnished king suite. The daily housekeeping was to a high standard and all the staff were friendly and helpful. One problem was that the hotel’s wifi disconnected from time to time, with no indication that it had done so, causing our phone to switch to mobile data until we again logged in. This resulted in unexpected use of mobile data - and is probably why we had to buy more mobile data during our stay. On previous visits to Manhattan we have stayed in midtown. We very much liked the area around the Beacon, which was less frenetic. We were also easily able to walk to and around both Central Park and Riverside Park. As we were self-catering for many meals, we found it useful that there were two fair-sized supermarkets opposite. We also liked the fact that the Beacon was close to 72nd St Subway station, which is on the express lines, and close to bus stops on several routes. Read less
