I had not stayed there in many years and was delighted with the staff, the rooms check-in was quick and easy. My room had an excellent view looking into the east side. Bed was comfortable, great linens. The small kitchenette was more than adequate with everything you needed, and you can't beat the location. The concierge even took us on a trip of their new beautifully renovated floor. The rooms are kind of a great Gatsby look and are really five star. I look forward to going back and staying in one of those rooms. An upgrade was offered, but we were not gonna be in the room that much so I appreciate it, but didn't do it I usually stay down in the theater district, but this was lovely to be up on the upper west side lots of great restaurants. The diner connected to the hotel was terrific for breakfast. It wasn't all over a wonderful stay. Read less

I was with my family in this hotel for one week one month ago. Everything was perfect: the location in Broadway, the people who worked there, the laundry. We had a kitchenette where we can heat very delicious food bought in the nearby supermarket. I would definetely reccomend it.

When we have gone to New York in the past we have stayed in Times Square and I much preferred being able to step out of the Beacon and feel like I was in a real Manhattan neighborhood rather than in the thick of the tourists. The hotel is two blocks from the 72nd street subway stop and it took about 10-15 minutes to get down to Times Square when we wanted to go there. We saw a show one night and ended up walking back to the hotel which took about 30-40 minutes. The Fairway Grocery store across the street makes it really convenient to pick up snacks. We ended up not cooking in the room but another time I can image we might take advantage of that capability. The room itself felt clean but had certainly seen some wear (e.g. wear on some of the seating and chips in the bathtub). The staff was unfailingly friendly and helpful. A few gems we went to in the neighborhood: Salt & Straw (ice cream), Levain Bakery (cookies), Lenwich (deli type food for breakfast), Fairway (Groceries), Pop-Up Bagel, Papardella (Italian restaurant - my son went here with a babysitter and liked it). In particular we had great service from Anthony who helped with a slight issue with the room (caused by the travel operator not the hotel) which made a huge difference to our stay. Read less

We loved our stay at the Beacon. We were upgraded to an executive suite on the 25th floor. Kitchenette was so useful, and easy to stock up at Fairway right across from the hotel. Easy to get around on subway and bus - the upper west side is quieter than around Times Square, and full of character. Staff were so helpful, and room, kitchen etc all clean. We felt it was good value, given the space on offer and location. Read less
