“Fabulous location, room and staff!”

If you are considering this hotel - do it! We loved our stay here. The rooms are clean and big and the beds are really comfy. The location is brilliant if you don’t want to be in the busy part of New York. It takes less than 2 mins to get to Subway and so quick to get to midtown (42nd Street) but it got us everywhere we wanted to go, But the best thing about the hotel was the staff, they were amazing. So happy and helpful!!

“Reservation was not honored; rooms are fine”

We were greeted quickly and politely and given a key to a room. The room was not the room that I had reserved, which had 2 specific elements that I had specifically researched, chosen, and paid for (15th floor or higher & King size bed). Mistakes happen; I called the front desk to let them know this was not the room I had booked - where I was told in no uncertain terms that this was an 'upgrade' (and I should be grateful). I made it clear I'd prefer to not be 'upgraded' as this was most definitely a downgrade to us, and I was informed that what I had reserved was not available. This was for a rare romantic getaway and it didn't have literally the only 2 things we were shopping for. While the room itself was fine enough it's disappointing to feel deceived, and at no time was there an apology. On the way out we mentioned this to someone at the front desk who just nodded at our feedback. Recommendation: 1) honor reservations, 2) life is unpredictable and if you have to change someone's reservation - apologize for the change instead of trying to gaslight someone into thinking you're helping them. This was a very frustrating and disappointing experience - Not recommended.

“Lovely Stay in the Upper West Side”

We enjoyed a truly wonderful stay at the Beacon! Our room was clean, well maintained, and met our needs perfectly. Check-in was a breeze and the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated in the upper west side, making it easy to visit Central Park and a number of fine museums, including the Guggenheim and the American Museum of Natural History. We found numerous lovely restaurants, coffeehouses, and bakeries in the area. Overall, we had a fabulous experience.
