Had a great stay, the staff is very friendly. The room was nice and comfy with a very clean environment and awesome history. We will definitely be returning. We never visit Portland hotels due to living in the area, but we will definitely be doing it again soon!

We loved it, old world luxury but with modern amenities and laid back vibe, not stuffy. incredibly friendly staff. Walked in to live jazz in the historic lobby, enjoyed a beautiful spacious room (720), and absolutely loved our breakfast in The Palm Court- our server Bobby has met all the celebrities and VIPs who have stayed over his 40+ years with Benson. Even the historic stairwell showcasing photos of the history Portland and the hotel was cool. We just loved our stay.

The location is great. The atmosphere was awesome after we were told the ghost stories. Our room was very spaciously, clean, keeping the historic value in the room and through out the building. Very quiet during the night, top notch serve! Tara and John make it hard to leave the bar and are the best host ever!
