Studio Rooms are located in the tower and offer views of Mission Bay and downtown San Diego or Pacific Beach. They also feature a dining area, and private balcony, with 2 queen-size beds and a sofabed, sleeiping maximum 6 adults.

Suites offer direct access to Mission Bay's beach and boardwalk. They also feature a separate living area with pull-out sofa, dining room and balcony or patio, with either 1 king-size or 2 double beds, sleeping maximum 6 adults.

Tired, dirty and dated.with guest experience not high enough on the agenda

We are currently staying here and from the outset there have been issues At check-in no information was provided about the hotel, services, activities, restaurants etc however, lots of discussion about how much we would need to pay to park, concierge costs etc The room allocated was on the 4 th floor of the tower and opposite the lifts. We requested a change of room and were moved to a 2nd floor room, nice view but next to the AC plant room so,noisy The room was tired, dated and not cleaned to a suitable standard. The bath plug would not fit into the plug hole and whilst trying to do so found that the reason may have been the amount of accumulated slime and filth in there. Maintenance came and fixed the plug bit it took several calls to get someone to come and look at the filthy state of the toilet. Very badly stained and dirty where the toilet is secured to the floor- eventually someone came with bleach, sprayed one side, left the other and it is still not clean. Communal and public areas are also not clean, dirty carpets, tables and pathways , some with dog mess on them I had to ask daily for coffee and cup refills and getting clean glasses proved an issue too. This is a busy resort with lots going on however, I feel that as a tourist I was overlooked in terms of customer care due to all the events taking place at the hotel Service in the dining areas is dire and after waiting half an hour for a server I went to look for one and was rudely told by the restaurant manager that there were servers but he would take our order anyway. When I requested a pasta side instead of nachos with my meal he said only possible at an additional cost!!! Some staff were friendly enough however, reception staff looked bored and just not interested In hospitality the customer is King and there is only one chance to make a good first impression however, in my experience neither of these things happened for me Read less

Avoid the Catamaran, not worth the money

Overall I would not recommend staying here based on our last experience (July, 2025). We have stayed in the past and really enjoyed the location (still great), property itself (ok but clearly slipping) and staff (previously great, really poor last visit). The biggest issue was that we booked one of the two story buildings with a garden view as we liked that room type in the past. As we check in the woman at the desk told us they had an upgraded room for us in the tower. I expressed some concern as I didn't really want to be on the tower but she assured me the room was 'much nicer with a great garden view' OK sure let's try it. We arrive at the 'upgraded room' and it is smaller, dingy, right next to the elevator and with a view of the top of a parking garage (see pic). I immediately went downstairs to tell them we wanted the original room booked. Dante was actually helpful and a lone bright spot but told us they were now booked and we had to spend one night at least in the tower. He gave us a small credit and did get us into the desired room type for the remainder of stay but still it's not fun to have to unpack repack and move in the middle of a vacation with two small kids. To top it off one of the tower elevators broke soon after, making for huge waits or lots of stairs. This really soured our experience (worst part was front desk staff initially lying to my face!) and is one reason we will look to stay elsewhere. The other glaring issue was the general unfriendliness of the staff (front desk, restaurant staff was especially poor, restaurant hostess the worst). The valet and landscaping staff were quite nice however. We also had our room cleaned only one time over a 5 night stay despite requesting additional service. Good location, well landscaped and themed property, but mediocre service for the price.

Property and grounds were well landscaped and themed. A fair amount of activities were included in the stay. Rooms was okay (it’s an old property so it’s gonna have some rough edges). But for the price, the overall service experience did not rise to my level of expectation. At check in, the front desk agent did not provide any details of activities, amenities or services (I.e. daily housekeeping) available, only our room number and where it was located. Given the activities and amenities available (I.e. Yoga on the beach, beach toys and equipment for checkout, etc), it would have been good to have some knowledge of it all from check in, rather than figuring it out on our own throughout the trip. Frankly, I have received better property and services overview when checking into a Hampton Inn. Additionally, friendliness of staff was hit and miss. It seemed like many of them did not want engage, or even acknowledge guests as they entered the lobby. As for the room condition, despite finding some “overripe” bananas in our refrigerator when we arrived to our room, the housekeeping staff was very attentive and did a good job keeping this older property looking good. One of the positives I must say is location. I lived in San Diego for five years and worked for a local tour company during that time, so I wanted to stay in an area where we could walk to restaurants and decent beaches and knew this location would fit that bill. If you are wanting a beach vacation where you don’t have to drive, this is a good spot. Overall, I had higher expectations for this property given the cost of the stay and my previous experience staying at their sister property, the Bahia. Would I stay here again?
