The hotel

Like a beautiful, glass puzzle box, this newcomer to Seattle’s luxury boutique hotel scene stands just a block away from Pike Place Market and the waterfront. As such it commands disarming views of Puget Sound through to the distant Olympic Mountains from The Nest – the Thompson Seattle’s urbane rooftop bar and outdoor living room – and many of its rooms and suites – through pulse-quickening, floor-to-ceiling windows. Decorated with elegant materials given quirky contemporary life through an understated colour palette, the look and feel is very much 'comfortable luxury residence'; something that’s only enhanced by a 24-hour fitness centre, complimentary WiFi, and California Kitchen, a restaurant that turns the finest locally sourced ingredients into dishes that become lifelong memories.

I stayed at the Thompson Hotel during a business trip and had a wonderful experience. The location is excellent—not only is it convenient for getting to business meetings, but it's also easy to access great restaurants and popular sightseeing spots in the area. The staff were professional and attentive, making the entire stay smooth and comfortable. I especially enjoyed a delicious glass of wine at the hotel restaurant, which was a perfect way to unwind after a long day. The room was clean, quiet, and very comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel for both business travelers and those looking to explore the city. I would definitely stay here again. Read less

Friendly staff, great service, less than stellar air conditioning. The check-in and out was seamless, but our AC even on full blast just would not cool down our room. We couldn't enjoy the view because we had to keep the curtains closed to try and keep the room cool.

Google review summary 4.4 1,534 reviews 5 ★ 4 ★ 3 ★ 2 ★ 1 ★ Reviews on other travel sites High praise for the team at the Thompson Seattle, with a special thank you to Keonne, the front desk supervisor! My partner and I planned our Pacific Northwest summer trip in early June. We started in San Francisco and drove up the coast to Seattle with several beautiful stops along the way. When we arrived at Thompson Seattle, we had just completed the drive from Portland. Imagine my surprise when the valet reported he could not find my reservation and directed me to the front desk. I know my attitude and countenance wasn't the best when greeted with a warm welcome and smile by Keonne. I relayed what the valet told me and shared the details of the booking with Keonne. She explained the hotel was fully booked, but assured me she would resolve the issue. Keonne confirmed the original booking information and simultaneously put me at ease. When we walked away from the front desk, we had an immaculate room with an exceptional view and a thoughtful room credit for a meal or cocktails. Everyone we came in contact with during our 3 night stay was exceptional - from the valet, to the young man who transported our luggage, to the rooftop bar waitress, to the in-room dinning staff. It is apparent, kindness and professionalism is the culture here. Thompson Seattle is still doing hospitality right!! Read less

The Thompson hotel is beautiful, and the staff are above and beyond welcoming. We spent our honeymoon here and just went back for our two-year anniversary. The staff left us champagne and treats in our room with a note for our anniversary. We can't recommend this place enough! The location is also perfect, just steps away from Pike Place market.
