Thompson Seattle

The hotel

Like a beautiful, glass puzzle box, this newcomer to Seattle’s luxury boutique hotel scene stands just a block away from Pike Place Market and the waterfront. As such it commands disarming views of Puget Sound through to the distant Olympic Mountains from The Nest – the Thompson Seattle’s urbane rooftop bar and outdoor living room – and many of its rooms and suites – through pulse-quickening, floor-to-ceiling windows. Decorated with elegant materials given quirky contemporary life through an understated colour palette, the look and feel is very much 'comfortable luxury residence'; something that’s only enhanced by a 24-hour fitness centre, complimentary WiFi, and California Kitchen, a restaurant that turns the finest locally sourced ingredients into dishes that become lifelong memories.

We were out celebrating my Mother's 61st Birthday and did a 2 Night 3 Day stay. We were offered an upgrade to a georgeous Suite with a reasonable price that came with a very beautiful view of Seattle's Waterfront, spectacular! You could see the Pike Place Market, the Big Wheel, The Pier, people walking and the Puget Sound waters, Excellent! We were greeted by very friendly staff. They had a smile on their faces and you could tell they were happy to welcome us. They said Happy Birthday to my Mother and gave us both a glass of champaign to start off our evening. The Nest Rooftop Bar is great!, also with great views of downtown Seattle and makes for a great conversation spot with cocktails and small bites. There's also a restaurant called the "Conversation", the food is pretty tasty, price is right and the servings are nicely sized, more bang for your bucks! The Thompson doesn't have a built in Spa, But, they set us up with (2) Masseuse's that came and gave us a nice massage treatment right there in our rooms, it was Awesome and Amazing!. Hospitality is great at this place. They even set up Taxi service for us to and from one of our scheduled Events, we knew we'd be drinking so we didn't want to drive. The Taxi picked us up, took us to our Event and was there to pick us up when our show was over, can't ask for more than that, very convenient. Oh and before I end this review let me not forget to mention, the room was very clean and well kept, the bed was nice and comfy, plenty of storage room for your clothing and what nots. The Fridge was already loaded and stocked with beverages, alcoholic and non alcoholic, there was also a display of snacks perfectly arranged on top of the fridge, oh and let's not forget the Liquor cart, our room came with it all. Our overall stay was fantastic! My mother had a "Bomb Birthday" LOL. Thank you Thompson Seattle for being a part of it all! Read less

It locates well in downtown close to waterfront park and pike market. The hotel staff are super friendly and highly responsive to requests, top notch service ! The rooms are clean and comfortable. My personal favorite feature is the waterfront view from the higher floors (all water-view rooms), bathroom is quite good as it separates the toilet. The Nest bar and restaurant are also excellent with great views! Read less

The good 1. Location - great spot next to Pike Place Market and shops/restaurants The bad 1. My room didn’t feel clean. The bathroom immediately had a lingering urine smell. The bed reading lights were greasy/oily to the touch, I had to immediately wash my hands. 2. Beddings/sheets were kinda rough 3. The walls are super thin and you can hear your neighbors through the wall and ppl talking outside even when they’re not being loud. 4. As a globalist, there are no suite upgrades, at least for me. I’ve read others being proactively upgraded but despite having inventory, I was told to pay an up charge. They should be consistent in their policy and the fact they don’t have “standard” suite is shady. Read less

The hotel has very friendly staff, is clean, and is in a great location. The rooms were quiet. The bathroom felt modern, and I enjoyed the scent of the shampoo and conditioner provided. The bed was comfortable, and they have a good casting feature when you're ready to wind down and watch a movie or TV show. Highly recommended!

The cookie at check-in was a small but memorable treat. The vibe and ambiance of the hotel are spot on — stylish, modern, and relaxing. Some of the room lighting leaned more aesthetic than practical, but it definitely contributed to the overall atmosphere in a good way. What stood out most was the staff. The Nest team greeted me every night when I returned from the city, and that consistent warmth made me feel truly welcome. Housekeeping was pleasant and on point throughout my stay. A special shoutout to one of the bartenders at Conversation — she had such a personable energy and made fantastic recommendations. I love ordering based on what staff actually love themselves, and she didn’t disappoint. The drink she crafted and the food she recommended were spot on. Overall, I felt taken care of, relaxed, and fully immersed in the experience. I’d absolutely stay again. Read less
