“NOTHING SPECIAL”

4 nights at Hyatt Place Riverwalk. Positive points: spacious room and furniture in good condition. Room very clean. Paid extra for river view. Worth it. Fridge, safe and kettle in the room. Negative points: bathroom extremely small. Sink outside the shower room. No door on the shower so water going on the floor when showering. Need to squeeze in to go in the bathroom as toilets very close to the door. Mattress is on the soft side. No possibility to open windows. No microwave in the room only near the elevator in a small room. On our first night when I asked the receptionist if sofa bed was made with the bed linens she said yes. Once in the room we opened the sofa bed for my son to go to sleep and bed was not made. Late at night we had to make the bed ourselves. Hotel knew we booked for 3 adults. Once they forgot to give us 3 towels so late at night had to call reception for extra towel. AC extremely noisy. Had to switch it off at night. Breakfast was poor quality. Choices very limited. No pastries, no muffins, no cakes. Only poor quality bread. Only one toaster which toasted very slowly. Coffee very bland. At 8.50 they run out of fruit salad. Also big queues at breakfast as hotel had huge groups of teenagers staying for some competitions. We had our breakfast in the meeting room which is used as an overflow room. Parking expensive $29.23 per day. They took $200 deposit for 4 days, refunded only a week later.

Perfect location just outside the main Riverwalk by the Nueva Street Dam. Rooms & hotel recently refurbished and everything in excellent condition

This hotel has a lot going for it. It is in a good location, walking distance to downtown, in a quiet area, easy access to the highway, good staff, great breakfast, clean rooms. Unfortunately someone thought that having a functional bathroom was not important. It wins the prize for the smallest bathroom imaginable. It contains a shower with no door and a toilet. The gap between the door and the toilet is less than 1/4" when opening and closing the door. It is difficult to find a place to stand while trying to shut the door. Because the shower has no door, the water goes everywhere and you have a nice pool on the floor when done. The TV channel selection is also on the very thin side. If you had basic cable and you then removed 60% of the channels, you would have what this hotel offers.
