We stayed at the Asher Adams during a holiday break and booked one of their Historic Studio Suites with a downtown view. Upon arrival, valet parking was backed up and difficult to navigate, as we had to wait on the main street, which caused a bit of a traffic jam. Overall, parking at this hotel isn’t ideal and on the expensive side so consider this if staying here.
The check-in process itself was fairly seamless, and the front desk area and lobby are absolutely gorgeous. The renovation of the old train station is beautifully done and gives the hotel a unique, nostalgic charm.
Our room was lovely and very clean, but the noise level from the street was quite loud, and the bed was very hard in my opinion. The bathroom was fairly basic, featuring only a shower and a separate toilet area. Hallway noise can also be an issue, especially when there are large groups who aren’t mindful of keeping noise levels down.
The Bar at Asher Adams offers good cocktails, along with small bites and lunch options. The Rouser Restaurant was very good and provided excellent service. We ended our evening at the No. 119 lounge, enjoying a nightcap while overlooking the hotel lobby, which was a nice touch.
Overall, the hotel is attractive and full of character, but considering the noise, parking challenges, and uncomfortable bed, especially at this price point, I’m not sure I would choose to stay here again.
