Upon arrival we were given an early check in (1hour) which we appreciated. The room was great except for the dim lighting in the bathroom. Although we really enjoyed the instant (extremely) hot water, I can see it being a burn issue for children and the elderly. The second day our AC broke and they came right away and fixed it 🙂 Outside in the hall was a different story. We were on the 15th floor. All the wallpaper was peeling off and all the corners were dinged by carts. It really gave the appearance of a low class hotel. Tuesday morning in front of the elevators was some trash debris from someone's. I guess, room service. It was there until Wednesday morning. The vent on the 15th floor hallway had visible mold. This was an issue because we traveled south on Mothers day for 2 weeks. I got I'll almost immediately and was sick for 2 months and am still having residual problems from that trip. My doctors thought it was an air-conditioning mold issue. We went up to the beautiful pool Monday night at 8 pm and there were no towels available attendant just shrugged and we were told that there wouldn't be any towels til the next day. We went to the sales presentation on Tuesday (Marina) was wonderful and she told us that was the nicest property Hilton owns in Virginia Beach. That surprised me as we only stay at Hilton brand. One last thing, late Tuesday evening the concierge beckoned us to come to her desk and we had a nice chat. She gave us a discount card that would have been more helpful if we got that on day one. We always went in and out that door but no one spoke with us previously. I thought it was the hostess for Catch 31 Beautiful room and view, the pool was also great when towels were available Read less

Beware when scheduling one of those promotional deals because they will lie to get your business! I was misled about the type of room when I made reservations through Hilton Grand Vacations. When I was asked my thoughts after checking in, I told Ciara and Tenesha that I was disappointed initially! We were put in a very basic room after being lied to about being reserved for an ocean view room. They claimed that they sold out! If you do decide to take up the promotional offer, bring your OWN FACE TOWELS. Expect to stay in the most basic and dated room on the property. There were only two wash towels for the face in this room and our entire stay. (Friday-Monday) l use a towel for my face and one for my body. I don't use the same towel for both. We asked the cleaning attendant outside the room for new wash cloths after we returned the two we had already used on the Saturday morning. However, they did provide new dry towels for the entire body. She stated that she did not have any more face towels. My husband went to the front desk to ask for some new wash cloths and was told there are no more. The next day, we asked the front desk for new face towels, and they sent up 4 dry towels. A different cleaning attendant stated they don't have any and there is a shortage. We decided to try the pool area out. No more than 6 in the spa and 24 in pool. They were very overcrowded each day. And, when you're in that area, you are harassed every 5 minutes about buying something from the grill and bar, which is OVERPRICED for everything they have. The first night, we visited the Sky bar. It was rather irritating to have been harassed twice about showing IDs even after we received wristbands downstairs for entry when my husband has a full grey beard and is almost 3 times the age of 21 and I'm over 50. It appeared to be an atmosphere for YOUNG FOLKS. It was very offensive to have an old picture in the bathroom full of white women. The hotel decor does not diversity of ethnic people. The lotion was hanging off the wall in the bathroom. The screw was coming out of the wall. The tub was old and had a yellow residue ring around it. Even though I informed Ciara & Tenesha about these conditions, because they kept getting on my nerves texting me, they NEVER addressed the towel situation and replied through text claiming to be in appreciation of my honest feedback. I guess the fire alarm sounded when we were out of the hotel, since Ciara sent a text apologizing. I informed them that overall, had I known these conditions, I definitely would not have accepted Hilton Grand's offer. We attended the scheduled presentation on Sunday at 1. But, after completing the application, mysteriously, we did not have to stay, according to the lady at front desk at the Hilton Grands Vacations building. No, I will not be going back to that hotel EVER. Nevertheless, Virginia Beach was nice and we will go back to visit the Boardwalk. It will not be at a Hilton property though. You can bet that!
