The Hamilton is a historic hotel and lovely, but be prepared. Rooms are tiny. My room has a window that looks into an alley so no light comes in at all. Wifi connectively is poor. Cell phone connectivity in the room in poor. Ice machines are available on floors 3,5,7 and 9. I am staying on floor 6 and the ice machine on floor 5 is out of… Read more

Not my best hotel stay but the staff are friendly and helpful. They also accommodated an early check. Read less

I attend a Delta Sigma Theta Sorority National Conference July 10-13. The location of the conference was the Convention Center which was located near The Hamilton. The area was safe, clean and very convenient! The service in the hotel was exceptional!

I have mixed feelings about our stay at the Hamilton Hotel. There were some very positive aspects but some significant negatives as well. Pro: they held our luggage for us until our room was ready, then texted us to let us know when we could check in. Employees are kind, helpful, and friendly. The lobby is pretty, clean, and smells like an Aveda salon, which is odd but refreshing when you’re returning from a long hot day of sightseeing. We appreciated the cold water bottle refill station, and hands down I can’t think of a hotel in a better location - one block to the metro and walking distance to so many things. Comfy beds/pillows/linens, and the curtains are essentially blackout which is lovely. The towels are really big, which seems insignificant, but I hate tiny hotel towels, so it’s such a plus to me. It’s also part of Southwest’s network and we were able to book with points, which saved a lot of money. Con: bring your earplugs, it’s noisy at night. Perhaps true anywhere in the city, you’ll hear a lot of traffic noise, but one night we also could hear loud music coming from somewhere nearby until 2 am or later. Ice machine only on the main floor. The WiFi was TERRIBLE - we found it better to just stay on our AT&T data - and the in-room entertainment system that allows you to stream from your device to the TV was unreliable at best. There were things that were dirty (like marks on the drapes and a rusty area on the bathroom trim). My biggest issue though was that our room was not serviced daily. While I don’t need a linen change every day it would be nice to have the trash emptied daily. We were there 5 nights and had to request the room to be cleaned one of the days because we needed towels and needed trash taken. All that to say, I would not be opposed to staying here again, because honestly I think the location outweighs the inconveniences. Read less

The Hamilton was a great place to stay. Nice, clean room. Friendly staff and they let us check-in early, which was great after a five hour train ride. It’s in walking distance from the National Mall and lots of sites. Would stay there again back in Washington DC.
