Went to DC to meet family that was in town for the weekend. Stay at the Hamilton because it was close to their lodging choice. The Hamilton was not only convenient but an excellent choice . The rooms were spacious , the restaurant was super convenient . They brewed one of the best coffees I’ve ever tasted. Super centrally located - close to everything without the hassle of having to deal with traffic and noise. Truly, the best thing about the stay was the friendliness of the staff. Everyone was so nice, eager to help, professional and courteous . Definitely will stay here again … Read less

What a horrible experience. Journey starts with circling around almost 20 minutes to find the hotel entrance due to main entrance being closed due to construction. Finally found the side entrance which was being power washed and the worker seeing me going in never stops and my very expensive shirt gets all the disgusting dirt and stains. After 15 minutes of waiting in front of the lobby finally some one comes and does the check ins. Arriving the room dirty bathroom and not working shower valve. They never fixed or cleaned. When I was checking out two individuals introduced their selves as managers and as an apology waved the valet fee of $69.Today I checked my statement and the charge is still there. So on top of everything there are dishonest so called managers. Absolute disaster hotel to stay. Read less

This is a wonderfully located hotel for business or tourist activities in Washington. At 14th and K streets, it is not far from the mall, the White House, K street corridor offices, the Museum of African American History and Culture, etc. The lobby is unexceptional but functional. The rooms are consistent with DC standards for all but the top-tier hotels and are larger than many I've stayed in. Beds were comfortable. The check in experience was easy even though we were staying 3 nights on 2 reservations and asked if we could keep the same room throughout. The front desk staff all were very professional, very competent, and very efficient (I was stunned by how quickly they processed people through checkout). Ms. B. Guardado, in particular, was very pleasant and helpful as was our bellman, Manny. I would definitely stay here again if I needed to have a room in this part of town. They have an on-site restaurant called Via Sofia. Breakfasts there were superb, both in the quality of the food and the service. On the other hand, our dinner there was definitely meh and was not improved by a completely disengaged server. In addition, the bulk of the tables are wood and have some type of finish on them that results in the plates, cups, saucers and silverware sticking to them, sometimes to the extent that it is very hard to free the object from the table. It made the tables feel grungy even though I suspect they were clean and just had an unfortunate finish. I would suggest they quickly rectify this as it really impacts on the dining experience. Ultimately, though, the lackluster nature of the restaurant is not much of a problem, however, given how many fine restaurants DC is blessed with. Read less

Upon arrival Sabrina and Manny went above and beyond with helping us. From making our exhausted toddler laugh repeatedly to making sure my family and I have the perfect accommodations for our stay! Couldn’t have asked for a better way to start our stay at the Hamilton! Thank you Sabrina and Manny!

The hotel is under renovation and that’s ok but I find the bedroom non that clean. The floor was quite dirty (or in need of restoration if the files are ruined not dirty). The bed was really good but…. The air conditioning too noisy.
