The Adam Morgans neighbourhood is known for being a 24-hour 'hood' if you like - but as it's developed over the years the restaurants, bars and shops have become seriously cool, so it's perfect for weekend breaks for couples and friends alike. Your rooms is made to feel like a home from home. with bespoke furniture and unique artwork that keeps each room different, and will give you that warm-fuzzy feeling (don't worry - there is aircon for those summer trips!). No Goodbyes is the all day hangout thats on hand to cure those cravings, from coffee to cocktails, and brunch to late night bites. There's even a record player and a huge vinyl collection on hand for you to pick your own soundtrack.

“Some rooms have no heating or cooling whatsoever”

I have stayed at this hotel more than a dozen times over the last two years for work. I love the ability to stay in a real neighborhood during my work travel with incredible places to eat nearby.
That said, the experience at the Line is entirely dependent on whether you get a room with working heating and cooling. There is an issue at the hotel that is known to staff but has not been fixed, and it impacts a number of rooms where the heating or cooling simply does not work. If you are unlucky enough to get one of these rooms, staff will "send an engineer," but it has never made a difference. It seems to be a larger issue with the hotel rather than something that can be fixed in an individual room. This has happened to me on 4 separate occasions. One time during the winter, I was put in a room that never got above 50 degrees (they moved me to a room with working heating though it took 2 tries because the second room also lacked heat).
I typically in these cases have asked to move rooms, and the staff have always been accommodating because this is a known problem. During my most recent stay in September, I suffered through stagnant air and a room that never got cooler than 78 degrees. The hotel was fully booked, so they couldn't move me. Unfortunately, that will make this my last stay.
It is otherwise a great, clean hotel with awesome design and the staff are friendly, but I will not be back because I need to know that my hotel room will have working heating or cooling.
Also, some of the rooms have nearly zero water pressure, I'm talking a TRICKLE, although in most cases this has not been an issue. I would only book this hotel during a low period when you are more likely to be able to switch rooms if you happen to get unlucky.

Just had an incredible stay at The Line DC! It's such a cute boutique hotel, and the rooms were immaculate. The on-site cafe serves delicious coffee in the mornings, and the restaurant was perfect for grabbing dinner with friends in town — it really has everything you need, and the location is very walkable.
The staff made the stay. Charlene and the hotel team were an absolute delight — warm, welcoming, and made sure everything I needed was taken care of.
