The Adam Morgans neighbourhood is known for being a 24-hour 'hood' if you like - but as it's developed over the years the restaurants, bars and shops have become seriously cool, so it's perfect for weekend breaks for couples and friends alike. Your rooms is made to feel like a home from home. with bespoke furniture and unique artwork that keeps each room different, and will give you that warm-fuzzy feeling (don't worry - there is aircon for those summer trips!). No Goodbyes is the all day hangout thats on hand to cure those cravings, from coffee to cocktails, and brunch to late night bites. There's even a record player and a huge vinyl collection on hand for you to pick your own soundtrack.

The hotel itself was mediocre. The electrical was antiquated. All the lights had to be on or all the lights had to be off. I had asked for a printout of my bill and was told it would be emailed to me. Never happened. When I got my statement I had/have serious concerns about the charges. I called numerous times and was told a couple of times someone would contact me. Again, never happened. I have to pay the bill to save my good credit. Would never return

I live six blocks from this hotel and have routinely referred friends and family to stay there. When the current Middle East war forced our family to evacuate to DC within 36 hours, I frantically searched the internet and was glad to see The Line was available, so I booked through Expedia.
Once settled upon arrival, I asked the front desk about the 10% Ward 1 discount - for those who live in the neighborhood. I was told by one clerk that because I booked through Expedia the discount could not be applied but she would check with her manager, even through I explained the extenuating circumstances.
I checked again with the same clerk the following day and was given the same response.- would have to check with the manager. At the same time, when asking about replacing a room key, another front desk clerk SCOLDED me for not saying “good morning” to her.
Upon checkout I inquired a third time about applying the discount and explained the extenuating circumstances of my booking. A manager finally came out and confirmed a third party booking precluded applying a discount.
I serve the United States overseas and my referrals have generated thousands of dollars for this hotel, but no longer. Their lack of flexibility and poor customer service means I will actively dissuade others from booking here. For a two-night $900 stay (yep, all those taxes and fees!), a 10% discount could have been a meaningful sign of support for a neighbor whose life was upended.
The hotel may respond to this comment, but it doesn’t matter. Damage done.
