“One Star Quality-Stay Elsewhere”

I was highly disappointed in Kalaloch Lodge! We had the first room in the main lodge at the top of the stairs. It had a smell in there, almost like mold, so I couldn't breathe with ease. The windows looking out to the ocean were so dirty and stained it ruined the view. The room felt like a 1960's room with very little updates. I understand it's an historic lodge, but one can still paint the walls and ceiling and update the furniture and surroundings. The dinginess of this room was depressing, plus the smell that I couldn't stay the night. We had checked in about 2:38 pm and checked out within 15 minutes it was that bad. The manager gave us no grace and still charged us for a full nights stay. There was little pride in the accomodations. The ceiling looked like asbestos tiles that were stained as well. Oh there is no TV either. The staff said we'd have decent Internet which was not the case. Our phones kept buffering.
The manager said there was a split system in this room that has an air filter in for A/C. I don't remember seeing this unit, but who would want to turn on the A/C if it's chilly? The Lodge staff chaulked up their lack of care for the rooms because the building was "historic". I get that to a certain point, but I think it was laziness. The charge for the room was just over $200 for the night with a one star motel atmosphere. I would NOT recommend this Lodge.

Outstanding location on the spectacular Olympic NP beach. Our cabin was cozy, comfortable, and ciean with amazing views of the ocean. Breakfast and dinner in the lodge restaurant were great. Highly recommend!

Wonderful location. Lodge rooms are dated, but comfortable and clean. Noise does filter in from the hallway. Need better seal on room door. Shower head has poor water pressure, but considering the location...........
The attached restaurant is very good. You are here for the access to the park highlights. For that, this place is a 10+.
