“Multiple Mice and Shower Shoes”
Jul 25, 2026Unknown U
Cabin was old and dirty. This was the first time in over 15 years I felt compelled to where sandals to shower. We also shared our dwelling with at least 4 mice. We had booked a 2 night stay but left after 1.
“A little too rustic experience”

We were awoken around 1 am to multiple mice in the room. The front desk gave us a trap to catch some that night. We only caught 2 that night. We were supposed to stay another night but since they were full and we didn’t want to stay in a mouse infested room (they did offer to remove the mice we caught and bring more traps), we did not stay a second night. We were not required to pay for the second night and were given a discount for the night we had to set the mouse trap. I understand this a remote location and mice happen; however, this was not one or two mice. The room was dirty when we got there. The shower dripped constantly and there was visible mold on the walls. The location is perfect but I would much rather backpack in with a tent than stay in a dirty, dated hotel room that has a mouse infestation.
“Peaceful and beautiful”

Pricey, but great way to experience Pacific beachs on Olympic peninsula. We had a lovely view of the ocean when it wasn't cloudy and easy access to the tidepools full of starfish and other sealife. The Macy cabin had a wonderful wood-burning fireplace. We loved hanging out at the kitchen table which was surrounded by windows on three sides. Rest of the kitchen left a lot be desired and supplies other than a Keurig were non-existent.
