“If you are big and tall the cabin furniture will fit you”
Oct 10, 2025bluepotter
We just stayed in cabin 19 at Kalaloch Lodge.
Everything about the furniture in the cabin was big and tall. At 5'1 I could barely get up on the beds and the kitchen table came up nearly to my neck with giant chairs. If you are big and tall, this is the place for you, you will love it.
This place is amazing we had a wonderful time at the lovely beaches and the food in the restaurant was great
So I am not saying don't come to this place but if you are small find another place to stay that cabin 19. I don't know if the furniture in the other cabins is the same, but I know I will never stay there again.
“Shabby stay but at $400 a night this is a rip off”

Buyer beware! Check you bed linens. We are fully aware that national park hotels tend to be on the shabby side and went in with low expectations. We can look past the mold in the bathroom, peeling and chipped paint and plaster around light switches, chipped tiles, and weird film on the floor from what is likely too much bleach being used but at least give the sense that clean linens are being used. We notified the staff on our first night that our linens on the bed appeared to be soiled and ended up using our own blankets. Because there is no wifi we did not see until morning that the hotel staff had contacted us to reassure us that the linens were indeed clean but that we could get more to replace them. They did replace the next day however these stains are so large and in multiple places. The cleaning staff should have seen them and they should have been discarded even if they were laundered. The fresh sheet at least had smaller stains. We accidentally clogged the toilet and after the maintenance person plunged he walked through the whole cabin dripping toilet water on the floor. How hard is it to use a bucket to catch drips? We had a nice meal in the restaurant but this is NOT worth almost $400 a night. To pay that and not get unstained linens is just not ok. Giving it two stars for the location only.

Could not be more pleased with our stay at Kalaloch cabins at Olympic National Park. Before we even arrived I was impressed with a text asking if I had any questions about check in. During our stay I received other texts asking how the stay was going and if I had any concerns or questions. When I did have questions, they were answered promptly and professionally.
We loved the cabin. It was cozy and very clean. The wood burning stove was a nice touch as was the daily delivery of a stack of wood to our doorstep. The cabins also have a heating system but we enjoyed the warmth of the fire after a wet day hiking.
The location.....wow. Steps away from the ocean, located on the edge of Olympic NP -- ideal. The only dining option is the Creekside restaurant and it is small, so if you're visiting during the busy season - this could be a problem. However the cabins do have a nice kitchenette so if you can find a grocery store (good luck) there's that option. There is a convenience store located right at the cabins but I didn't think to check out the food and grocery options there. I think Forks may have the nearest grocery store, but not sure. Def. something to think about if you visit Kalaloch. And be sure to gas up as we were arriving at night and gas stations were nowhere nearby. So, yes -- some inconveniences in the lack of dining, stores, and gas stations - but it's nature.
All-in-all our visit to Kalaloch was exceptional and I highly recommend it.
