All Virgin Atlantic flights depart from and arrive at the North Terminal.
When does my flight depart/arrive?
Unsure of your timings? It's best to be safe than sorry. Check your departure and arrival time with our handy Flight status tool.
What time should I arrive at the airport?
Leave those last-minute airport dashes to the big screen! We recommend that you arrive at least two hours before your flight is due to leave.
Do I need a visa?
Check out our Visa information pages for every country that we fly to.
Online check in
The best way to check in is online where you can pick your seat and print your boarding card. If you’re travelling with carry on baggage only, you can print off your own boarding pass and we’ll see you at the gate. Alternatively, you may use our automated self service kiosks at the airport. You'll find them in Zone A and they're open between 05.30 and 22.30.
Counter check in and bag drop
You’ll find our desks in Zone A of the North Terminal. Check in starts from four hours before departure. If your flight is in the early hours, you may drop your bags off the night before. All passengers will need to be present for this option. Twilight check in is available from 17.00 to 21.00 - please note, there is no dedicated Premium Economy desk.
Got another flight to catch? Virgin Atlantic customers may use the free GatwickConnects service for a quick and stress free way to connect to your next flight.
Travelling with kids?
Gatwick airport has a family room equipped with amazing soft play areas and games rooms available for free, so you can let the kids enjoy themselves whilst you sit back with a well-deserved cuppa.

Trains arrive into the South Terminal, close to the airport shuttle. The free airport shuttle goes between the North and South Terminals. It runs every few minutes 24/7 with a journey time of just two minutes.
Just follow road signs to the North Terminal drop off, short-term or long-term car parks.
'kiss&fly' drop off
We have a number of free ‘kiss&fly’ spaces at the North Terminal for those dropping off customers travelling with Virgin Atlantic. Once you've checked in online, you’ll be able to pre-register your car details so the car park system will give you access.
