We’re so proud of our long-standing charity partnership with WE (formerly Free The Children), which supports our goals of sustainable change in the destinations we fly to.
In 1995, 12-year old Canadian Craig Kielburger rallied his classmates to raise their voices against child labour. From these humble beginnings, a movement grew across North America and the UK, engaging thousands of schools and university groups and working to empower people in rural international communities to break free from the cycle of poverty. Their model works on the belief that if community members are empowered with access to education, healthcare, clean water, food, and new income sources, they will create sustainable change.
Through empowerment programmes and leadership training, WE inspires young people to develop as socially conscious global citizens and become agents of change for their peers around the world.
Members are able to transfer miles into the WE account at anytime. The miles in the WE account will then be used to fly volunteers to destinations where Virgin Atlantic operates.
You can transfer a minimum of 2,000 miles, and it's a great way to keep your account ticking over if it's due to expire before you get a chance to fly again.
