We stayed here for three weeks and left with mixed feelings about our experience.
On the positive side, the location is absolutely nice – right on the beautiful 7 Mile Beach – and most of the staff are genuinely friendly and welcoming. The setting itself is what makes this place special.
However, the hotel no longer lives up to the 4+ star standard it advertises online by TUI Netherlands. It feels like it once had great charm, but is now in need of significant attention and investment.
While staff members are kind, only a few appear to have formal training in hospitality. Professionalism could be improved, as uniforms are not consistent and sometimes look untidy.
Several facilities were also disappointing during our stay:
• The swimming pool was closed and did not look hygienic.
• The jacuzzi was out of service.
• The restaurant and on-site shop were closed.
• The internet was unstable and very slow.
• Breakfast was sometimes served very late, or not at all.
• Overall, the property shows clear signs of wear and a lack of maintenance.
With proper upgrades, improved reliability of services, and a stronger focus on hospitality standards, Sandy Haven could once again become the luxury boutique hotel it claims to be. For now, the incredible location remains its greatest asset, but unfortunately the overall experience falls short of expectations and drops below 3* rating.
I advice TUI Netherlands to make changes on the website more then they have done mow after our feedback!
