I had one of the worst resort experiences of my life here. The customer service was beyond disappointing — especially at the front desk, where the staff were shockingly rude and unhelpful from the moment we arrived. We were told that check-in would be at 3:00 PM, so after a 4-hour drive, we arrived around 2:30. At that point, we were told our rooms weren’t ready and to come back at 3:30. That turned into 4:00… and by 6:00 PM, we still didn’t have our rooms. To make matters worse, we had booked our stay weeks in advance for the other side of the resort, but were told upon arrival that it was fully booked and we’d been moved to the Cornwall side — without prior notice or explanation. When we finally got access to our rooms, they were not properly cleaned or stocked. There were no towels, no washcloths, and not even a bath mat. I called room service, and someone eventually brought a few towels — but when I asked for washcloths, the staff member casually told me, “We don’t provide rags.” When I asked what I was supposed to wash with, she shrugged and said, “I don’t know.” That level of indifference was insulting. We then discovered that our shower had no running water. When we contacted the front desk again, we were met with nothing but attitude and no urgency to resolve the issue. Adding to the frustration, we had specifically requested a ground floor room for my elderly grandmother, who has had multiple surgeries and struggles with stairs. Instead, they placed her on the fourth floor with no explanation or effort to accommodate her needs. And the food? Absolutely terrible — bland, limited, and nowhere near the quality expected from a resort. I was born in Jamaica and visit often. I’ve stayed in many different resorts across the island, and I can honestly say this was the worst experience I’ve ever had. Between the rude staff, poor accommodations, and lack of care for guest needs, I will never return Read less

Old rooms that need renovation. The bathrooms are very old. Tub is rusted. The floors have stains on them. The worst part is NO HOT WATER! No elevators. The buffet is less than desired. Not many options. Rude staff. The other reviews must have been bots or managers with fake accounts. Horrible is an understatement.

We had two rooms and had booked through a travel agent. The staff was great - the beach was lovely - but the facility itself was absolutely not and I will not be recommending this resort and I will be letting the travel agent know so that she either doesn't send people to this resort or at least is able to let them know of our experience. There was no elevator - and when they asked us what floor we wanted and we simply said not the first floor, they didn't tell us there was no elevator. So we ended up on the 3rd floor with a whole lot of stairs. It appears this is not a new issue - but it never occurred to me that there might not be an elevator in a multi-floor, family resort. I'm grateful I didn't have kids and strollers to lug up the stairs - I only had myself and my personal belongings and that was hard enough. Trying to manage that with hot and tired children? No, thank you. We had very little hot water for the first few days. Then, on our 3rd day, the water in the shower had too low pressure to even go into the showerhead - turns out they were fixing the hot water, which was great but there had been no communication about the plan nor was there communication when it was fixed despite having complained about my inability to shower. Then, on our last day, I got up to take a shower before a long day of traveling and there was no water AT ALL in the shower. My son had these same experiences in his room. My son's room had a toilet that ran constantly - he reported this issue repeatedly. They sent a repair person two different times to fix it, both said they had to get a part and never came back. My room had no wash clothes - my sons room also had no hand towels and when we asked at the desk, we were told they would notify housekeeping but this issue was never resolved over our 5 day stay. The rooms are a little bit rough - but I expected that with a coastal hotel where I know they sometimes experience bad weather and the evidence of prior water damage is not unreasonable or unexpected. The tub in my son's room was warped in the middle, causing water to pool in the tub area. The tub in my room was worn and very slippery. The food was fine - nothing exciting, but certainly acceptable. The staff was friendly and kind - but the facility itself was absolutely sub-par. I recognize this is a discount resort (although I didn't realize that before hand - but that's probably on me) - but, even with that, an elevator for the 3rd and 4th floors (or a comment at check in about the lack of an elevator when asked what floor we wanted to be on), hand towels and hot water/any water in the shower are pretty basic requests. This is my 3rd trip to Jamaica and it is the first time I have been dissatisfied like this. There are a lot of resorts that hit the basics - and even some flourishes. The Grand Decameron Montego Beach did not even hit the basics. Read less

When you first pull into the resort, you already know that you made a mistake if you’ve already been to better resorts. 1. there’s no working elevators so if you are handicap, do not book this resort. 2. Waited a hour to check in then we got to our room bathroom horrible, no hot water for the four days we were there, an empty refrigerator. Small face towels are not a part of their amenities so you get hand towels that are filthy dirty. They also take them and don’t replace them. Tub had a stain that would not go away so make sure you bring some shower shoes and towels. No liquor in the room. Our patio door was broke. Took a day to fix. 3. Pool and Jacuzzi closes at 5 o’clock. Food is mediocre. Serves the same thing every day mostly fish and chicken. fruit flies took over all of the fruits, covered by thin layer of plastic wrap. One of the cooks in charge of the meats attitude was horrible to all the black people, but treated the white people Vikings in Queens and we were told by the supervisor that the black people that they have gotten recently treats them like dirt and they are not supposed to. Converse with us. Which made no sense because how do you know if I want mommy well, medium or medium? Well, it’s all a part of customer service, and this was explained to the chef to stop teaching them to treat black Americans poorly because of what they experience because of their attitudes. we did receive a complementary bottle of wine in the room with apologies for the inconvenience.. 4. You cannot take food back to your room. There’s also no room service. after hours at the snack bar they also decide which day they want you to take food to your room as one day we could, and the next day we couldn’t, so I politely packed my burger in a napkin and left I didn’t need anyone’s permission. But security is present to stop you. So, if you or your kids are tired or anybody that’s handicap is hungry because there are no elevators. they have to find a way to get food from the first floor . And eat outside in the dark with all of the flys flying around your food. There’s also a ton of flies in all of the condiments that they have open outside at the snack bar. 5. The resort itself is very boring. The nightclub was empty every day we were there because I’m guessing that there’s not a lot of people staying at this resort, I was bored you have to book an excursion, or get out and walk the strip because the entertainment on the resort is lacking. You don’t even get music during breakfast lunch or dinner. The neighboring resort is way better, but run by the same management. Stay at your own risk. Read less
