This was my first trip to Jamaica. When I visit the Caribbean I usually go to Cancun. We went for my sister’s birthday. Here are my experiences at this resort. PROS: The staff is all very friendly! We loved Mark at the swim of bar and Sharon and Tennika at the Spa. 10/10! The resort had plenty of photo ops and a great view of the ocean. We stayed on the adult side but was able to go to the family friendly side as well. Most of the restaurants were there anyways. The pools were nice! You had a variety of them to swim in and they were a good temperature. They seemed to be well cleaned. We loved the Italian restaurant and the buffet. The SPA was awesome! CONS: Our room. We stayed 4 nights. On night one we noticed our air wasn’t working right. We called the desk they sent someone up right away. The guy came up and pointed his reader at our vent and said it was working and turned on our fan. The second day it still wasn’t working right. We thought we figured it out and it was an issue with our sliding door that would shut all the way. We called down again and it still did help. Day 3 we called own again and two guys came up who seemed to know what’s going on. I thought they fixed it but nope…by night 3 & 4 we were sleeping in damp linens. We should’ve been demanding of a new room but it was also never offered. Our room also had lights above our bed that would keep randomly turning the on while we were sleeping and we have to get up and turn them off. Entertainment. While there was entertainment happening we never knew where it was. We missed a big outdoor event because we knew nothing of it. They should have a communication that shows everything and the staff should be telling you throughout the day. They had a QR code that we found out about on day 2. Beach. Not good. Very rocky. Food. Aside from the buffet and Italian restaurant the others were not good. Calypso had frozen shrimp and a buffet outside that the flies would frequent. The fine dining was ok I suppose and the Asian wasn’t good. I did try the Jerk Shack and it was ok. I don’t think I’ll be back. was ok Read less

Very disappointed in management stuff of the resort. I went with my mom ( mom/daughter BD trip) , reserved an ocean view king room. As we checked in, the front desk “upgraded” us to a junior suite. We walked in to junior suite 4204, and it had no view, 1 small room, 2nd floor, end of the resort, balcony facing a fence and a path walk, no ocean view whatsoever… we went back and I asked to get us the original booked room bc I would prefer to be in smaller room but with an ocean view, so we can seat at night and enjoy the ocean. They gave us EXACTLY same size room 4404 2 floors up!!! And it had a glimpse of ocean view!!!! So I truly believe they tried to downgrade us vs upgrade our stay…. It was also my BD and my husband who booked a room for us, gave instructions over the phone for a surprise upon our arrival. NOTHING!!! As we changed rooms twice. Later on, I saw a guy delivering BD cakes on our floor. He had like 5-6 cakes on his cart and I made a comment to him that he is most likely will come to my room, he smiled but he never came. Next day, my husband called and complained that nothing was delivered and they assured him that smth will be delivered today… yes, as we came back from dinner, a bottle of wine was delivered to our room with ONLY ONE GLASS and a card stating HB Thomas (my husband name, not mine…). Finally, on 3rd day, after another complain of messing up a simple HB surprise, a bottle of prosecco was delivered with 2 flutes and fruit plate. Also, we took a shuttle from airport and they automatically checked us in and charged $300 for accident/damage insurance. BUT… as we arrived at the resort, the front desk charged my credit card AGAIN for $300. As I questioned them why I’m being charged twice, they said no worries, it’s just insurance and I will get everything back if no damage. We are already home, and I see that $300 was returned but only ONCE. I really hope that in the next few days another $300 will show up on my credit card and I don’t have to deal with this resort ever again. Read less

Disappointed with the Service – Not What You Expect from Hyatt We had high expectations coming in, but unfortunately, our stay fell far below standard. From the moment we arrived, we were left to handle everything ourselves. No welcome drink, no cold towel, and no one to help with our luggage until after check-in. We struggled to unload multiple bags while staff watched on. The room itself was clean, but the fan worked on and off throughout the stay. Even more frustrating was the overall attitude of the staff. Every interaction felt like we were inconveniencing them. When we asked for coffee, we got attitude. At the buffet, we were told bluntly to “come back at 7” with zero effort to accommodate or offer options. The bar experience was the worst. When we went for a drink before closing time, the bartender said, “I don’t want to be here and neither do you.” Completely unprofessional. We also asked for mangos and were treated as if we requested something outrageous. We’ve stayed at many all-inclusive resorts where service and hospitality are top priorities—this was not one of them. For the price we paid over five days, we expected much better treatment. Oddly enough, we had a far better experience with people outside the resort who genuinely cared about making our stay enjoyable. The one bright spot was the poolside service. The bartenders there were friendly and attentive, but overall, this resort needs a serious reset in customer service and attitude. We won’t be returning. Read less
