We had the best week at this resort! Our butlers Lennox and Robert (aka Toby) were amazing, grabbing great dinner reservations every day for us. They left us treats in the room. The pools and beaches were very clean. Nikki the activities director kept us engaged while at the pool most afternoons.

However, In addition, you have information on external tours which the burners can help you organize. Thanks a lot to our butlers Suline and Orrett. The kids did not really want to leave. We had an amazing time. Your time and effort on the job made the visit heavenly for us! 🙏🏾 Read less

Grand Jewel Resort and Spa Although dated, the hotel was clean and our two bedroom suite with 2.5 baths and 3 balconies was amazing. We were very impressed. The lobby was quaint and had a small piano bar that offered entertainment from 10 pm to midnight. Gary the main bartender was funny. If I had to make a recommendation is that more time is spent in training staff of consistent drink mixing. For example, martinis were made different every night. All of their fruit drinks were a powdered mix. No fresh fruit was ever used. You were never served the same drink the same way twice. All staff made them differently. The two pools on site were extremely cold. Probably due to the days being so windy. No one used the swim up bar. There is no adult pool. Not Even a roped off area which would have been nice. Constant young kids running around you was not very pleasurable. They did have a hot tub that clearly stated that children under 12 were not allowed. Daily and all day, every day, there was a minimum of 5 children and sometimes as many as 10 children under the age of 5 in the hot tub splashing around with their goggles and water wings on. Zero enforcement was done. Unbelievable. As a smoker, I appreciated the fact that there was no smoking in the rooms and balconies. They had designated smoking areas which I was more than willing and did use that were located around the resort. What was bad about that was that they were in the front of the hotel or parking lot or in far off area on the beach. There was a steal ashtray with a sign to please use ashtray. No seating was available unless you wanted to sit on a cement garden wall. There wasn’t a seating area that you could enjoy a drink and a smoke after dinner. It was degrading. I felt frowned upon and honestly for the money I paid, they could have accommodated an area that was pleasant for smokers. The common washroom facilities were disgusting. The washroom that was used by the steak house, waves, the lobby and the piano bar as well as the cricket lounge was out of order for 4 days of our trip. We had to walk the stairs to the second floor. The washrooms by the pools and the buffet restaurant were always leaking from the bottom or plugged up. All sported a sign caution wet floor. The staff Our butlers Neo and Paul were outstanding and catered to our needs. Special Shout out to Gary (piano bar), Toby (waves) and Evan (jam-mex) overall all staff were great and if it wasn’t for the outstanding service, our stay would not have been as nice. The restaurants The sit down restaurants were great. No complaints there. The buffet however was terrible. Breakfast and Lunch only. Only two food items were switched up daily. Everything else was the same Dinner buffet was closed. Bottom line if you didn’t get a dinner reservation you had to order room service and were charged 10 dollars service charge. Reservations for some people were made for 8 and 830pm because they could not get a reservation. Who wants to eat at that time and honestly some people we met couldn’t get a reservation because they were full and were forced to get room service. If there is no food choice after 5pm then you should not be charged. Super bowl Party They offered an outdoor super bowl party livestreaming the game. What was wrong each person was charged 25 dollars US to go? They served hot dogs, hamburgers wings etc. They would not even allow the piano bar to put the game on one of the three TVs Just wrong!!! We watched it in our room as a lot of guests did and ordered room service. So So disappointing The Beach Red Flag appeared every day which was a swim at your own risk, Followed by a sign saying beware of sea urchins and other creatures when water is rough. They recommended wearing shoes. The sand was not soft and had a lot of rocks. Very small beach to walk on before you hit a sign saying this is the end of the property and security was there Shopping No shuttles to shopping, you have to take a taxi which is extremely expensive. It would have been nice to see a different vendor on the beach instead of the same one every day. Or have a vendor day on the Jamaican Street party. The Spa The Grand Jewel Website advertises a 15 percent discount on spa services. We went to the spa to book, we were told the discount only applies at the time you book your stay and only if you book your stay through the hotel. We found out later that was not the case from other guests that booked at the front desk. Carol and I booked the same service for $183US plus a 15 percent service charge plus 10 percent tax (total $228.50 US) I was supposed to get a 50 message with message to sinuses, hot steam on face, hand and foot reflexology and back compressions. It also included the use of the hot and cold pool and sauna. Well the hot pool was just above freezing, the jets didn’t work and we were told to use the pool before the message. I only received a 20 minute message and 10 minutes of the girl trying to upsell me products. My hands and feet were not touched. I got a 10 min message on my face and then lied there face down breathing in steam and essential oils for 20 minutes with literally a two minute compression on my back. When we were done I went to the change room to wait for my friend who came out 20 minutes later and her person laughed and said she needed more time. At first I thought I read the description wrong but I didn’t. My friend got what she paid for. Clearly I didn’t. After putting back on our wet bathing suits we were going to go into the sauna but the staff were all waiting at the exit door with the door open? We just left. After that we contacted guest services and told them to cancel the second spa treatment we booked on the Tuesday. Entertainment All-inclusive type style shows. The Michael Jackson Tribute was outstanding. The rest of the week were dancers just basically doing the same dances but different costumes and a different theme. Dance shows for 7 days is a little boring. It would be nice to see something other than dancing and perhaps a host to entertain the crowd. Very Lame Read less

I just recently returned from a week long stay at the Jewel Grande and I was pleasantly surprised. My Son and Daughter in Love got married there, and based on some of the reviews, I decided to book another resort. I later changed my mind and I'm so glad that I did. First and foremost the property is Gorgeous! No, it's not brand new, but it is very well kept, and we saw upgrades being done every day we were there. Our room was a large ocean front suite with many desirable amenities. The staff that I encountered were great. I especially remember Moya from the front desk. She was extremely helpful in helping me extend my stay without the need to move to another room. Richard, from the beach activities was amazing. He took us sailing and we had the best time. Our room attendants (B804) were also amazing. The restaurants gave great service and the food was delicious. The wedding facilities were beautiful , from. the bridal suite to the reception hall. Yes, the walking can be a bit much but that's only if you choose to do that, because they have rides available within minutes if requested. I wear a knee brace due to a torn Meniscus and I had no issues with getting to where I needed to go. If you're like me and rely heavily on reviews, please take my advice and give it a try. I promise, you won't be disappointed. My family has already decided that we will return next year to celebrate the one year anniversary of our children. Read less

Basement area in the Sentry building needs to be updated (that is where the elevators are located, some parts of that area are creepy). Great staff, but I would not return to this location (lack of activities, delivery fee for room service, transportation not included and they will place a 200.00 holding fee for incidentals on your credit card).
