A Disappointing Experience – Twice!

Beautiful resort by the way!!!
Unfortunately, my experience at Ocean Eden Bay has been nothing short of disappointing, and after visiting twice, I can honestly say this resort has a lot of room for improvement when it comes to customer service, hospitality, and overall guest experience.
My first experience was in February 2026. I was originally staying at another resort and decided to extend my vacation because I wasn’t quite ready to leave Jamaica. Due to overbooking, I ended up booking one night at Ocean Eden Bay for nearly $500.
The check-in process itself was smooth. However, things went downhill almost immediately. After being escorted to my room, I discovered that my key wasn’t working. A staff member simply used his own key to let me in rather than resolving the issue. While I was in the room getting undressed and preparing to shower, another employee walked in with a guest who was apparently checking into the SAME room. Yes, I was walked in on while completely naked because of what appeared to be a double-booking or room-assignment error.
From there, it was one inconvenience after another. I repeatedly attempted to get my room key fixed, only to be told multiple times that the issue had been resolved when it clearly hadn’t. I made several trips back and forth to the front desk, called for assistance, and waited extended periods for someone to come help me. At one point, someone eventually came and opened the door with their own key, but my actual key was still never properly fixed.
What makes this even more frustrating is that I had only booked for one night. I practically spent my entire stay trying to gain access to my own room instead of enjoying the resort.
After I expressed my frustration, I was eventually moved to another room. Management then promised me privileged services for the following morning, including someone personally escorting me and making sure I received the experience I had been promised. I waited all morning, called for assistance, and waited even longer. Nobody ever showed up. When I finally went downstairs, staff members didn’t even seem to know what I was referring to.
To make matters worse, I was presented with paperwork that appeared to be an attempt to prevent me from discussing or reviewing what had happened. I refused to sign it.
I spoke with management, including the manager I believe was named Georgia and the Guest Services Manager. Both made promises that they would make things right on my next visit and do something special for me. I explained that I planned to return in October with my son for his birthday. However, when I reached out in September before making arrangements, I received no response. My message was read and completely ignored.
Even on the day of departure, the lack of organization continued. I was supposed to receive assistance with my luggage and have it transported to the front of the resort. I waited, and once again, nobody showed up.
Despite everything that happened in February, I decided to give Ocean Eden Bay another chance in October and returned with my family. Unfortunately, that experience was disappointing in its own right.
The food wasnt that great while there was a variety of options available, the quality and taste simply were not there. Having multiple restaurants and food selections means very little when the actual food is not enjoyable.
On the morning of checkout, which was scheduled for 12 PM, I was repeatedly disturbed starting at 8 AM. THREE different people came knocking on my door asking what time I was checking out. Why? Checkout was at noon. There is absolutely no reason guests should be repeatedly woken up hours before their scheduled checkout time to answer the same question. Basic consideration and respect for guests’ time and privacy should be expected.
At this point, I have to question the overall standard of hospitality at this resort. My February experience was filled with room-assignment errors, privacy concerns, poor communication, and promises that were never fulfilled. I gave the resort another opportunity in October, and unfortunately, the food and customer service were still disappointing.
Ocean Eden Bay, you cannot continue to rely on the appearance of a beautiful resort while neglecting the actual guest experience. Hospitality is about more than the property itself. It’s about how guests are treated, how problems are handled, and whether management follows through on its promises.
I spent nearly $500 for ONE NIGHT in February and couldn’t even properly enjoy my stay. I then returned in October with my family, hoping for a better experience, and left disappointed again.
I don’t expect perfection when I travel, but I do expect basic professionalism, accountability, courtesy, and quality service, especially at a resort in this price range.
Unfortunately, Ocean Eden Bay or Coral Springs did not deliver that for me. Two visits were more than enough to make up my mind.
