Round Hill Hotel & Villas

Montego Bay, Jamaica

Star rating

The hotel

Undoubtedly one of the most sought after hotels in the Caribbean, Round Hill Hotel & Villas has been a long-standing Jamaican icon since its opening in 1953. A former pineapple estate on the outskirts of Montego Bay, what is it about Round Hill that makes it such a magnet? Round Hill is where Jacqueline and JFK spent their honeymoon, where Rodgers and Hammerstein wrote the Sound of Music, where Hitchcock got sunburned and where Noel Coward, if egged on enough, would sing for the guests. Today, this elegant beachfront resort offers the same blend of qualities that has always pulled the famous names and faces; namely a well-preserved slice of old Jamaica and tremendous hospitality. You still enjoy the estates' stylish architecture and a predictably colonial pace of life, but with the added pull of an oceanfront spa, an exceptional family program and refurbished hotel rooms designed for beach living by Ralph Lauren, (perhaps whilst visiting his own villa at Round Hill) as so much more. The ocean side restaurant perfectly blends the hotel’s historic pedigree with its new energy.

Highly recommend for a luxurious family friendly getaway. The decor and design of everything is stunning, the amenities are great. Only change I would make is get a room not on the top floor of the hotel, it was too warm for our liking.

Unparalleled elegance and service at Round Hill! We splurged on a villa with a private pool and it was so worth it. The housekeeping staff were so kind and attentive, and the breakfast experience was world-class. Ackee tree right outside our window! I wish we’d had the energy to enjoy late night entertainment, which sounded both tasteful and fun. Daily tea time was such a treat. We loved the beach bar and all of the staff. The folks at the kids club were so friendly and made my son feel welcome and at home. Thank you!! Read less

For my girlfriends birthday a total of six of us rented a villa here. The villa was nice with three bedrooms accommodating all of us comfortably. We had a staff daily that prepared us breakfast as well as cleaned the villa. We also had our own private pool that made for some interesting activities after dinner. They also have a restaurant, spa & pool with beach front. A concierge that could plan daily activities in Montego Bay and we hired a van with driver for the entire stay. If you go I would recommend book directly with the hotel rather than a travel agent who used a third party Classic Vacations. Also use Club Mobay for navigating the airport and lounge use well worth the money. The Villa comes bare no drinks or food for snacking late night and room service is expensive a bottle of Don Julio was $450. Also no tv or microwave. And if you go to dinner in their restaurant they automatically add 18% gratuity and another 10% our server said was tax which I didn’t see elsewhere in Montego Bay. That’s 28% added and I still haven’t tipped the server so I felt that was enough so unfortunately nothing for her other than share the 18% with restaurant staff. If you have a mobility problem this is a problem you have to go up stairs with no railings. My girlfriend used the spa and they charge you by how much pressure is applied . 🤷 The staff was friendly as are most Jamaicans but if something goes wrong they won’t correct it especially if it involves their money as what happened at a restaurant in Montego Bay. Overall the trip was memorable. One love ❤️ Read less
