My daughter and I stayed here May 11-15. This is not a 5 star hotel; it’s a 3 at best. The location is great about 10 mins from the airport. The beach basically saved our vacation. It was very nice, clean and relaxing. With the exception of the lobby, the hotel is torn, tattered and dirty even though the staff is constantly cleaning. Our bathroom was dark, dingy & gloomy. They really need to do a major refresh. The food at the Roots Rock restaurant and the pool bar & grill were really good. The buffet lunch & dinner were ok but the American items for breakfast were not good. I can’t believe the fruit in Maryland tastes better than at this tropical hotel. The food at two of the reservation required restaurants was not good at all. The coffee & juice at the cafe was excellent. The majority of staff were nice- shout out to Jaidene in the Cafe & Orly at the pool. They were great! The dj & the bartenders understood their assignments and were always on point. The above were the main points but there were other problems too. Sad to say I will not be returning to this place. Read less

We visited this resort from May 8-13, 2025. Here's our honest review. Property - the resort is clean, and the aesthetics is very nice. This property has so much culture. The art and artifacts are a great touch. The property has 2 pools, one main pool and the infinity pool. The main pool, I will say, did not appear as clean as the infinity pool. The water was murky. The sea was clearer than the pool water as evidenced when I used my GoPro. The infinity pool was underused, but we loved it. The only issue were the bugs in the infinity pool. Other than that, we loved it! The deck and the views were amazing. They also have swings on the top floor that were underused. That was our spot! We swung almost every day and just talked and enjoyed the view and breeze. At times, we would nod off in the swings. They were that peaceful. Restaurants - There are three on the premises. All were excellent. The food was well seasoned, and the presentation/plating was on point. We have zero complaints. All the restaurants had beautiful views either of the sea or the pool area. Food/Snacks - The buffet had limited options. I would recommend having more options/variety. Although we loved the fact that they made some Jamaican food, that was pretty much all they had for the main course. They did have salads and fruits to compliment, but meat wise and for sides, those were limited. The desserts were ok, but I would recommend more options on that end. They did have a poolside grill if you wanted a hamburger or wrap or even a snapper sandwich which seemed to be popular. They also have a 24/7 cafe that had desserts, coffee and teas, which we did take advantage of. Rooms - The rooms were spacious, and the artwork was pretty. We loved the his/her showers. That was convenient. However, I do have to say that the odor in the room was bad. There must be a sewer issue on the property. In the first room we had, we thought they used a sour mop to clean. Our room did get changed, and when we got to the second room, it smelled better. However, when we left and came back in, it had a similar odor. That night, we heard the toilet bubbling, and the odor came back. When you turn on the sink water, the smell was coming through the sink as well. That needs to be addressed. The cabana that was assigned to our room did not appear as though it was maintained so we did not get a chance to even lay on it. It had bugs and debris on it. To the property's credit, we never brought this to their attention so they could address that issue. The humidity in the room was a bit much as well. For example, it felt like we were sleeping on damp sheets, even though we were not. We had the AC on 72 and the fan going, but it was a little uncomfortable to sleep. I've only experienced that level of humidity on one other resort. I can say that this should be expected on SOME resorts. Service - The service was great. The staff were attentive and responsive. If we reported any issue, they responded to it promptly. We have zero complaints for staff. Everyone was helpful and courteous. I like the fact that Paula emailed me advising of advanced reservations for the restaurants and providing me with the information needed for transportation. Excursions - They do offer excursions. I will say that some are overpriced but that's because you get your own personal driver for most of them. I would suggest offering excursions for groups to keep the cost down because some of us do not mind travelling in small groups. The BEST bang for your buck is the catamaran and snorkeling excursion. We enjoyed every minute of it! Entertainment - The poolside entertainment was nice. They had live bands which was a great touch. It was an intimate setting. They also had a Club onsite. We did not get a chance to go to it so I cannot give a review on that. They did have volleyball contest and pool exercise classes, but we did not get a chance to participate in either. Beach - We loved being on the beach. This resort shares Doctor's Cave beach. The beach was pretty clean; the water is clear and it's near two piers. You can see tropical fish right near the pier. That was pretty cool. The men working the beach were all polite, helpful and down to earth. We just had a great time. Overall, we had to give it a 4.0 because of the above-referenced issues. Other than that, the location, the service, the views, the culture, and the restaurants were all on point. I would still recommend this resort. I will say that me and my boyfriend always make the best out of anywhere we go and will continue to provide honest reviews wherever we visit. Read less
