Image of the Tripadvisor rating Mixed feelings about allergen catering

The hotel itself is clean and well maintained in most areas. However, some tiles are missing from the small pool near the splash park. I cut my knee quite badly, could be worse for a child. The hotel itself is clean and well maintained in most areas. However, some tiles are missing from the small pool near the splash park. I cut my knee quite badly, could be worse for a child. My main issue though is with the lack of clarity about food allergens. The staff seemingly ask the question about allergens and hand out cards but that’s where it ends. I have to follow a strict gluten free diet and the first evening had a chef come out and show me round the buffet and the bread section… The gluten free separate section is shocking with just bread at breakfast and a couple of small cake offerings the same every day. Another evening a chef made a plate of food from the back but had used soy sauce with wheat in it. The overall lack of allergen information on dishes made the buffet difficult to trust. Would expect more from this level of hotel. Some gf cereals and labelling would go a long way. Local Jamaican cuisine was by far better than other dishes served. Three of the other restaurants are worth mentioning as a better experience with gluten free. The teppanyaki chef was brilliant catering for 3 allergens with live cooking. He was very reassuring. The sugar cane restaurant was clearly labelled and the same for red snapper. Read less

After extensive research of which All Inclusive close to Montego Bay, I selected (Ocean Coral Spring). Upon entering the property it makes you feel EXCLUSIVE! The welcome staff is very professional, took our luggage, (Doorman: Devontae) offered us a welcome drink and directed us to the Check-in desk. (Travis Privilege front desk) assisted with one of our check-ins and accommodated a room request for an elderly man which I am appreciative of. I got one of the BEST experiences at an All Inclusive, so this review will be detailed but helpful. Quick Tips: - Best time to check-in: 04:00pm - Best room type: Building #2 Pool view or Prestige - Best time for "First come first serve" restaurants: 6-7pm especially large groups - Best restaurants: Sugar Cane, Thali and Red Snapper if you want authentic cuisines with BOLD flavors My detailed review: I booked a pool view room in Building #2 (Rooms are next to activities and all the restaurants). It was convenient during the hot sunny days to run from my room to the pool and restaurants. The room for 2 or more beds is HUGE and as pictured online. Martha's Buffet was the quickest option since we arrived around 5pm. It has a wide variety of international dishes and you can let them know your food allergies. I'm allergic to shellfish, so to avoid any issues, I selected pasta made to order and Chinese noodles which were both delicious. My favorite restaurant was hands down (Sugar Cane). It had the authentic flavors of Jamaican dishes and our group kept asking for seconds because it was that delicious. Trishna-Gay (Waitress) was very professional, gave great recommendations for our meal and provided excellent customer service. Second restaurant is Thali which our group ended up one night because nothing else was available and the restaurant supervisor (Riley) was willing to accommodate our party. He did family style and gave us a wide variety due to 2 of us having shrimp allergies which was PERFECT for even the picky eaters. I would definitely return for Riley customer service and how well he treated us that night. Red Snapper was my last breakfast before check out and I WISH I knew the breakfast was the best on the property. Everything was FRESH and flavorful as well as replenished quickly. Odane (Server) took excellent care of us and didn't complain about multiple requests. Overall this resort is perfect for couples, groups and families with all the beautiful property, amenities, multiple pools and activities. You NEVER need to leave the resort because in our short 4 day stay we didn't get a chance to do half of what they offered. Based on my social media posts and recommendation I have friends and family who will also be booking future stays with me. Customer Feedback: Below is my feedback for Ocean Coral Spring and H2O management. These 2 employees deserve a promotion based on my interaction during my stay and justification. - Loraine (Assistant Front desk Manager): Loraine came from her office to assist one of the front desk staff then walked around to check on all the guests waiting on line to assist and make the Check-in process smooth for all guests. She is a proactive problem-solver with the ability to manage situations, from guest complaints to operational challenges. My dad lost his car and house keys in the lobby and we immediately reported it to Loraine who contacted security to assist with finding the keys. I would trust her during any crisis management if I got stuck in Jamaica at the hotel. - Brison (Food & Beverage concierge): She overheard me complaining to someone in my party that I have not been able to get into any restaurants my first 2 nights, therefore I can't add them in my Trip Advisor review. Brison immediately introduced herself and asked me what was the issue. She then went into crisis management and told me to go with her to Thali to speak with the supervisor. 5-10 mins later, we were being seated at a table for my group. She also asked me if I would like for her to book a reservation for my group the next day at Sugar Cane and I gladly asked her to arrange it. I like her A+ customer service, professionalism and problem solving skills. She turned what could have been a negative experience into a positive review. Read less

Hello people, i am not the person to leave reviews on anything never did but this so called 5 Star Hotel deserves this and people should know about it before they actually waste their hard earned money on this place. We travelled from the UK two adults two infants. when we got into the hotel we was held up for 20mins in line just to check in then was given a little beeping machine as said the room was not ready apparently. Fair enough Got to the room out of good will i wanted to tip the guy that brought the bags up gave him 1000 JMD as he said it is rude to give this to anyone as a tip and he wants more. ROOMS - DIRTY+MUSTY all they do is fix the bed sweep and mop even that if there bothered. Balcony never gets cleaned glass is full of dirty. for some reason we didnt get our room cleaned the entire day after we came back from the whole day spent at the pool. The people are not respectful to others as its a family hotel Adults screaming shouting down halls. FOOD - just terrible and everything mostly re-used Bars - PLASTIC RE-USE cups are never washed soaped or dried. The pick them up from peoples left overs rinse them with water quickly and use them again for others. Disgusting STAFF - so rude so miserable The customer service at this place is a absolute JOKE. You was for a drink either you get the side eye or them kissing their teeth's at you. Unless you tip them a dollar like the americans do 24.7. Life guards will ask you if you want to buy any substance’s everyday. You go to the beach and theres a place on the side with horses. They will ask you for drugs such as white. Why would i have to tip any staff member when i have already paid for all inclusive. long story short im guessing the hotel will reply to this and back themselves up as ive checked on the most recent reviews which are similar to mine. Do not even bother. Just wanted to warn people who are considering this hotel as this is nowhere near a 5 star. Horrible horrible “vacation” Spent to much money just so i can sit there and want the holiday to end. Such a disappointment Fix up. Read less

Outstanding experience with the family at Ocean Coral Spring. Staff: Very friendly and accommodating. My advice...BE PATIENT. This is Jamaica! The whole vibe is "no problem." Outstanding experience with the family at Ocean Coral Spring. Staff: Very friendly and accommodating. My advice...BE PATIENT. This is Jamaica! The whole vibe is "no problem." The staff works at their own pace and I loved every minute of it. Room: Very clean. The bed was a little hard, but that didn't matter. If you're using the pull-out sofa, they will remove the bedding every night. Be sure to request the bedding again. Food: Enough said! This is what keeps us coming back to Jamaica. The food, even the buffet, is good. Especially the grill on the beach. Pool: Very big! You pretty much feel like you have your own space. Beach: We visited the beach twice. Wear water shoes because it's a little rough. Ladies: If you are taking pics at sunset, stay off of the rocks. There are stickers that will get under your dress, and you won't know where the "pokes" are coming from. Otherwise, it was great. Entertainment: We stayed out and caught the live band which was amazing. Be sure to do the virtual reality and bowling. You have to pay for the VR, but the bowling is free. Overall, we had a great time at this resort! Read less
