Review of Couples Negril, Feb. 18-25, 2026
This is home. Something we felt even more strongly this year, as we did a split stay for the first time (7 nights at CSS before 7 nights at CN…) And while CSS was lovely, we felt immediately “at home” when we pulled up to the Couples Negril lobby to start our 8th visit (we’ve been coming to Couples Negril since 2005, and have already booked for fall 2026 and winter 2027!)
Check in: We were warmly greeted with Jamaica smiles and given champagne to sip while we filled out our paperwork, which was all correct and in order. Then it was off to our awesome room, 7201, and then to the beach grille/Heliconia for my first of many snapper sandwiches and saw 3 couples we knew along the way. Welcome home indeed!
Food: Overall, we loved the food…and both gained several pounds to show for it. 😉 We ate at the Beach Grille for lunch nearly every day and had several delicious dinners at Heliconia as well. Staff moved people along so there were minimal waiting times at dinner and were very attentive. We sadly missed Lychee this time (didn’t realize it was closed 2 nights during the week, we will plan better next year!) but had a very romantic special dinner at Otaheite. Cassava Terrace was delightful for breakfast--fresh pancakes and made-to-order omlettes. We also loved the live entertainment at breakfast which started our day out nicely.
Private Dinner: This is the first time we have done this, we had it in the treehouse. Our server was so sweet, picked us up from our room with champagne and led us to the treehouse, which was beautifully appointed with candles, rose petals and other table decor. We were so pleased by her service---especially going up and down all of those stairs! It was an unforgettable way to celebrate my husband’s 60th birthday!
Rooms: Clean, no frills but well-stocked fridge and always clean towels. Loved turndown service. Always enjoy the towel art and special touches, these ladies are fantastic!
Activities: We didn’t do much this year, sand gravity took over! The day we signed up for the Catamaran cruise, it stormed so it was cancelled and we didn’t have time to rebook. Oh well, next time.
Romance Rewards: Couples really knows how to appreciate their returning guests. As the Passionate Love level, the perks we received made us feel special.
Spa: We increased our couple’s massage from 25 minutes to an hour and we left feeling SO relaxed!
Towels: There was always a ready supply of clean beach towels anytime during the day. Don't have to worry about key cards or shortages.
Room Keys: LOVED that they brought back the bracelets. So convenient and much better than the key cards!
Beach: We enjoyed spending time at the beach. Saw how much damage the hurricane did to the foliage, and appreciated the canopy that was put up during our stay. Still. More shade is needed. Maybe extra special (not tacky) umbrellas for us fair folk, while we all wait for the foliage to grow back. Bar was great, and lunch/snacks on the beach was a treat.
Nightly Entertainment: We loved the nightly entertainment and beach & lawn parties. The Jamaican night with the fire-eaters was amazing, the Motown and Tina Turner performers were excellent, as well as of course our favorite, the Silver Birds! We were in Room 7201, so we could hear everything quite well from our balcony. We love it that Couples lends an authentic Jamaican flair to everything they do including the thoughtful entertainment. I don’t come to Jamaica to hear booming party music. 😉
Staff: Couples Negril staff is second to none and a big reason so many guests are repeaters. We felt so welcome and pampered, we can't wait to return in October! If you're on the fence about booking this property, just do it already. ;)
