My husband and I stayed at the resort from May 4 to May 14. I agree with many aspects of previous reviews—the resort is older and could use some upgrades. The outlets in our room were outdated and loose. Since we wake up frequently during the night, we brought a nightlight; otherwise, we had to turn on the large overhead light, which made it difficult to fall back asleep. We brought our own K-cups along with creamers—this made our morning coffee much more enjoyable. While the coffee maker in the room functions like a Keurig, it isn’t branded as one. Jamaican coffee tends to be a bit strong for our taste, so having our own was a nice touch. Gym & Fitness I used the gym every morning, but they need to maintain supplies better—the sanitary wipes were empty every day except the first. The towels were convenient, and the treadmills and equipment were great. Unfortunately, the air conditioning was out during my last two visits. I reported it to the front desk, and while they assured me it would be addressed, nothing changed the following day. Only after two of us complained again did they finally fix it. Entertainment If you’re over 55, you may want to reconsider the Catamaran cruise—the music was loud, and some songs were rather inappropriate. A cruise featuring hits from the ‘60s, ‘70s, and ‘80s would have been far more enjoyable. The TV worked but offered very few channels—mostly news and a limited selection of HBO movies. The WIFI was rather unstable. Dining Experience Caravana Terrace was our favorite spot for breakfast and most meals. The omelet station was fantastic, thanks to Venido, the true master of omelets! He was incredibly fast and friendly—we were sad to say goodbye on our last morning. The Menus were Physically posted and so if you wanted to see what was available for the day you had to either memorize several sheets or take photos and review later. It would be helpful if the website for couples posted the menus for the day. The Ottalie Restaurant, which requires a certain dress attire, had the best service. Our waiter, Rhori, was outstanding. However, restaurant service elsewhere was painfully slow. The buffet options were more efficient. As repeat guests, we attended the special dinner for returning customers, which was nice—but we waited over two hours for our meal. For lunch, the grab-and-go pizza and nachos at Heliconia were the best option. Quick, easy, and perfect for a beachside snack. Beach & Service The beach was amazing—calm waters with no rocks, well-maintained seaweed control, and plenty of shaded areas. A tip I received from my "mentor" was to head to the beach early—so I made sure to secure our spot by 6 a.m. Towels weren’t always available that early, though, as laundry service wasn’t ready yet. If you see the towels during the day, pop over to the towel hut and grab your towels for the next day. The ability to move plastic lounge chairs into the water was heavenly. The turquoise waters were peaceful and stunning. Beach service was average, except for Teanna, who was in training. She regularly checked on us and remembered our orders, making the experience much more enjoyable. Other than her, the service was sparse. Bringing Yeti cups was excellent advice—our drinks stayed cold for much longer. Miscellaneous The Au Natural beach was oddly positioned between the neighboring resort and Couples. It was a narrow, tree-covered strip, with water-side dividers marking the boundaries. Housekeeping was excellent. Our room was always clean and tidy, and the stand for drying clothes was extremely useful. Final Thoughts The weather was incredible—hot and sunny every day. However, I did get several bug bites, so bringing bug spray is a must. One downside was the cats lingering around the property—they tended to get a little too close for comfort, even attempting to jump onto chairs in the restaurant. Read less

We had a wonderful experience at this resort. Highly recommend! Third visit to Couples and it was amazing as always. There are many repeaters who have been going there for years. Rooms: our room was in Building 2 first floor. It’s such a short walk to the beach. I love the cold air in the room and it didn’t disappoint. Ceiling fan and air conditioning keep the room nice and cool after a long day in the heat and sun. Beach: this is what keeps us coming back every year. The water is crystal clear and warm. The water is also very calm. Very few waves except when small boats go buy advertising parasailing and a few other things. We were able to get the same chairs everyday under a shade tree. There is an abundance of chairs so you don’t have to get up early. There’s also plenty of shade trees if you don’t want to sit in the sun all day. The floaties on the chairs are a nice touch because you can take them into the water and float all day. Restaurants: the food is very good. I did have one bad meal but Caroline who runs the resort rectified the situation and compensated. Their main priority is the guests. They go above and beyond to make sure you have a nice time and address any issues you have at the resort. We ate at every restaurant and each one was very good. I think they took guests advice and changed the menus. Many people stay for 2 weeks or more so they now provide more variety in meals served everyday. The beach party is great. They set up tables on the beach at night and have stations set up with a variety of food. Entertainment staff: I can’t say enough good things about them. Dushane, Tiann, Franchesca are amazing. The make the activities so much fun and make you laugh. I love playing the didn’t games they offer. You get funny money and every Friday they have an auction to bid on items from the resort and local vendors. It’s a lot of fun bidding against one another. This is a small resort and everything is so close. You don’t have to walk far. We never encountered a rude employee. They were most gracious. I loved casino night. I never participated in piano lounge but I heard it is fantastic. We met so many people and see them the same time every year there. We made good friends with Pam and Malcom from Scotland. We keep in touch and see each other in April at the resort. We have already booked our trip for April 2026. We have been to other resorts and this is by far our favorite. We won’t go anywhere else. Highly recommend using Mobay on arrival and departure. You bypass all the lines and they take you to a lounge where you can eat and drink until it’s time to board your flight home. Read less

Our fifth visit to Couples Negril, and once again it did not disappoint. There is a reason the staff say "welcome home" when you arrive, as it feels exactly that. There can be very few hotel chains that have the sort of loyalty that Couples Resorts have. We had an amazing time - the food is delicious, the accomodation superb, and the staff are sublime. We are swcuba divers, and between 2 of us, we managed to do 45 dives in 2 weeks - sharks, dolphins, turtles, rays, lionfish - it doesn't get much better than that. Here are some views: accomodation - the rooms are amazing. However if you are looking for 6 star Dubai style accomodation, this is perhaps not the resort for you. The hotel has a great "vibe". We were in block 1 (our preferred building). There can be nothing better than hearing the sound of the water outside and the clinking of scuba air tanks in the morning. They have just introduced food room service for lunchtime and evening too (previously it was breakfast only). food - delicious. My favourite is Lychee (an Asian restaurant), but Otaheite runs it a close second. Cassava and Helliconia are also fantastic, and I would also thoroughly recommend you try the Veggie Bar for lunch too. staff - simply cannot be faulted. We ere treated like long lost family when we arrived. They are the friendliest staff of any hotel I have ever visited. Every department is the same - waiters, coffee staff, watersports, berach, scuba, reception, maintenance netc etc. The repeaters dinner was amazing, and I am always so glad to see various staff introduced whio have worked at the hotel for years (sometimes decades!). Special mention to Dean the restaurant manager. scuba - the main reason we return year after year. The guys in the scuba team are ther best in the business. This year I did a PADI peak performance buoyancy course which made such a difference. A big shout out to Richie, Suga, Byron, Courtney, Omar, Willy, O'Jay and Jordan. They are like family now. waterports - again such amazing staff. The wakeboarding is particularly good (Derrick is a fantastic driver). Particular mention to Jerome, Maliki, Chris, Milton, and Michael for being such great company. entertainment - still superb after a few visits. The silverbirds are always good fun, the house band (Roots harmonic) still fantastic, as is Leo Carmichael, the beach party, Moses playing at the bonfire, and of course Paul the pianist in the piano bar. Francesca in the entertainment team is great! The hotel has a great feeling about it though. The beautiful trees throughout the resort and lush greenery make it beautiful. The staff cold not be more helpful. We had an issue around late check out and they sorted it out superbly (many thanks to Ricardo Samuels!). I cannot praise this place enough. It is a piece of paradise, and we shall be returning next year God willing. Read less
