“Birthday getaway!”

Amazing waters! Beach is great, plenty of room and chairs! Stayed in the Bamboo Grove Swim up rooms, even with construction it was still amazing and any issues Cion fixed for us and some! Michelle at Sundowner, Maryanne at Barefoot were so sweet! The Piano Bar bartenders are wonderful! Was lucky to have a couples massage with Marcell and Vanessa…. Top notch, one of the best ones we’ve had! Overall, this location is about relaxing and unwinding! Just what we needed! Thank you all!

If you are looking for a "luxury 5-star resort" I would not recommend staying here. We picked sandals for our honeymoon because it was relatively affordable, and Sandals has a good reputation overall. I would give this resort 2 stars, but the saving graces were a select few of the staff members, the activities around the resort, and the location (sunsets were beautiful). The good: - fun atmosphere/entertainment. The entertainment team was on site basically all day with shows/events every night. They were high-energy and had some amazing singers. Sometimes during the dances, you could tell they were improvising, which added to the comedic factor. - water sports (kayaking, tubing, boating, paddle boarding, water bikes, etc) - location (nice/clean beach, amazing sunsets) - massages. We got a couples massage and it was well worth the money. The spa was clean, especially in comparison to the rest of the resort. - Private beach dinner was great. Nice one-on-one service and a great meal. - strong drinks and most of the food was good... if the resort was a bit cleaner, I wouldn't have been grossed out by most of it. The bad: - check in. Check-in was supposed to be at 3 p.m. My husband did the pre-check in which made the actual process very easy. However, our room wasn't ready until closer to 5:30. They kept telling us to get a meal/drink, and the room would be ready. After 2 or 3 drinks and a meal, they still didn't have it ready. Apparently, it was clean but "needed to be inspected by the supervisor." After waiting for hours, a lady at the front desk said she would just inspect it herself and then we finally could get in. - facilities/cleanliness. I understand the resort is older/dated, but that should not mean that it is dirty or unsafe. Our room was tucked into a corner of the building with very little light or ventilation, making it feel dark and damp. The A.C. was mediocre at best. Things around the resort seemed to break or malfunction every day. One day, the water in our building was out for hours, the ice machine never worked, the soda machine at the main bar broke, a woman fell through rotten floorboards by the pool and busted her knee and toe open, some alarm was intermittently going off all day, I could go on. The bars/restaurants were out of a lot of items, and meals often did not match the description at all. - communication: staff seriously lacked communication between each other and guests. You'd ask a staff member for something (ex. ordering a meal) and they would point aimlessly and say "order from them" and nobody else would appear for 40 minutes. Everything was written on paper (like a literal sticky note). They had no POS system so orders, refunds, or excursion information was often incorrect or miscommunicated. It seemed as if staff members were given too much responsibility, which led to long waits for most things, even simple requests like a bottle of water. I was disappointed in our stay and my husband and I will not be returning to another Sandals. If you're looking for a fun trip and you don't want to spend an arm and a leg, then it COULD be worth staying here, but definitely not for a honeymoon. From what we gathered, most of the issues are not because of the staff on-site, but major issues with management and owners. Very unfortunate because Jamaica is a beautiful country.

The gazebo was a beautiful location for the ceremony, and the Sandals team provided worry-free customer service for the wedding party. The on-site restaurant options include Bayside (Day Buffet, Mediterranean dinner) Sundowner (Caribbean) Kimonos (Japanese) Barefoot by the Sea (Seafood) Bella Napoli (Pizza)—and very tasty pizza! Brava (Tapas) Perla (Latin) Crema (Café) The food was solid, but not as memorable as the food experiences I have had at other all-inclusives.
