Couples San Souci is without a doubt, one of the most exceptional hotel experiences I've ever had. Check in was a breeze and took less than 5 minutes, my only dissatisfaction there was I didn't receive a welcome drink. That was made up for instantly as even though my room was not ready I was invited to enjoy the property until it was, this included bars, restaurants and all water activities. The room was spacious, clean and included robes. I had a garden view, at Couples San Souci I must say they are big on nature so the property is like a rain forest, they are so many trees which makes it conducive to the utmost relaxation for nature lovers, thumbs up for this. Every team member I interacted with—from housekeeping staff, water sports staff, servers and supervisors at the restaurants and bars —was exceptional. They went out of their way to make sure every moment was perfect, always asking if you are okay or just warmly greeting you upon passing. Dining at the  restaurants were amazing. The breakfast buffet  had a wide variety of  local and international offerings. Lunch and dinner  were equally exquisite and the true Jamaican flavors were on offering,  spicy. The property has multiple pools and jacuzzis, a wide variety of water activities and attentive competent watersports staff to ensure utmost enjoyment. I loved the swim up bar, bar tender was attentive, pleasant and engaging with the guests. The absolutely best part of my stay was my interaction with the staff. Special mention must be made of the gentleman from housekeeping that came to clean up after  water was dripping from the AC on the night of July 8th. He was so apologetic and genuinely concerned about our comfort. The supervisor at Palazzina that worked on the night of July 7th, you ensured that we got something extra from room service. Thank you 😊 Muta from watersports, ensured I got a personal guided tour on my snorkeling trip. It was greatly appreciated. Couples San Souci isn't just a hotel,  it's an experience that leaves you wanting more and will have you planning your return trip before you check out. Read less

This hotel is absolutely beautiful and we are so glad we chose here to celebrate our honeymoon. We were given welcome gifts and a free massage each as we were celebrating our honeymoon which was really lovely. The hotel is in a beautiful area surrounded by lush tropical vegetation and with its own beautiful beach. I got to experience scuba diving which was complimentary and had a wonderful experience. Glass bottom boat is also complimentary and fantastic as is other water sport activities. The rooms are beautiful and all the staff are so friendly and welcoming and the food is equally of a very high quality. Entertainment is brilliant with a must see spectacular Caribbean night on Tuesdays and Fridays on the main lawn. We would not hesitate to visit this beautiful hotel again and a big thank you to all the staff for making our honeymoon one to remember. Cannot recommend this place enough, one place everyone should visit if they get a chance to. Read less

This was our second stay here, we booked a redone Deluxe Garden Suite G107 and it did not disappoint. There were many, many positives here and only a few negatives. Negatives: The beach at SSB was even rockier than last visit. Even with water shoes, it was not easy. The stairs!!! The young lady working at the clothing side pool bar was not interested in working. At all. The water pressure in the shower is not good. Positives: The room and view is fabulous. AC does a great job and the bathroom is huge!!! The staff is great, friendly and welcoming. The food is fantastic!!! Things you must get Fish tacos at the beach grill Chicken wings from room service Anything from Casanova All the other bartenders were great!! Drinks are good and they don’t skimp on the alcohol. The spa!!! Coffee shop!! Plus you can leave a book, take a book there as well. Do a photo shoot! Richard is amazing and they make great memories. I may hate the stairs but the layout almost feels like 3 separate resorts. Up top is the mineral pool and jacuzzi, spa, salon, Casanova, coffee shop and piano bar. Then the main part of the resort and then Sunset Beach. We rotated through them all depending on how much we hated the stairs on a given day. Room service!!!! We had it every morning for break fast, a couple lunches and 1 dinner. The food was excellent, hot and on time. Go to SSB!!! It’s fun and everyone is really nice. I could go on for a long time, we really enjoyed ourselves. Some people that really stood out: Richard and Ashay-the resort photographers were everywhere this visit catching your favorite moments. Shakier in housekeeping took excellent care of our room. Lafane at Pallazina dinner Camille and Shaquille at Casanova Tashieba at Pallazina Breakfast and lunch Nickayla-young trainee just started but works hard. She served us multiple times in multiple places. Ruth, Tia and Thelma at the spa. They’ll make you relax so hard, you’ll forget your name! Orlando at Bella Vista, I have a very sensitive palate and he made sure my dinner was cooked to my liking. Herde and Lloyd at the beach bar, keeping everyone topped up with a smile! And our shuttle driver back to the airport was Fitzroy. Very professional and we had a nice cool van. We had a great time and can’t wait to come back. Read less

We’ve literally just left and I have say the overwhelming feeling is of disappointment. The pros of this resort are its undoubted beauty, it’s a really pretty, beautifully maintained, small, stylish resort and that’s something that can’t be faulted. We’ve literally just left and I have say the overwhelming feeling is of disappointment. The pros of this resort are its undoubted beauty, it’s a really pretty, beautifully maintained, small, stylish resort and that’s something that can’t be faulted. The other is the price, it’s certainly a very reasonable price for an AI. The rooms(we were in B301) are very nice, spacious and pretty with very comfortable beds, decent aircon and huge bathroom(the shower is terrible though, barely a trickle of lukewarm water). Sadly the cons of this place far exceed the positives. The biggest and most disappointing issue was the staff. No matter how smiley, friendly or polite we were(we’re naturally bubbly and friendly people) we never got the same in return. The vast majority of staff seemed almost annoyed that we were there. Getting a mediocre unfriendly service at almost every meal became frustrating. Expecting a friendly welcome or a smile was obviously too much. I’m glad we aren’t expected to tip at this resort because I would have struggled to find any staff who would make me feel inclined to do so. I don’t understand where the resentment comes from. When someone greets you with a smile and a cheery good morning, it actually takes effort not to respond in kind..most couldn’t even find it in them to look you in the eye when speaking to you. The dismissive attitude on the whole was upsetting. There were a few standouts however..the shining beacons of delight.. John, who had such a genuine smile for everyone, made us feel welcome every time we saw him. Carol, who was at the omelette bar, was another wonderful surprise, as was Jody Ann and Tamesha who were some of the most lovely ladies we’ve met, an absolute asset to the company, we just wish all the staff would take their lead. The second biggest disappointment has to be the food. We didn’t expect fine dining, but something above mediocre blandness shouldn’t have been too much to ask for. I’ve never understood the dumbing down of the Jamaican flavours. I understand the clientele are mainly American and perhaps it’s to cater to their tastes, but the lack of authentic flavours or spices was just ridiculous. The standard of most food was poor.. I think I could name 3 dishes I really enjoyed and the slow service(even taking into account ‘island time’) was unreasonable. Their gala nights and Caribbean night buffets are good though, great selection(service was as always , pretty terrible.. so unfriendly). The veggie bar, whilst the food is delicious (shout out to the smoked Marlin sandwich) .. the service was always RIDICULOUSLY slow.. and again, I hate to say it but the lady was borderline rude most of the time. You never see any management , when we were at Sandals RP, the GM was always wandering around, greeting guests, asking about their stay (even handing out ice lollies).. nothing like that here. And handing out customer feedback at the end of the stay is pointless.. it doesn’t help us. Replenishing the drinks in the room was non existent..we had to wait 3 days before we got any liquor in our room at all, then 3 times we requested a bottle of wine on the app, and twice went to reception.. finally got one on the last day. Housekeeping staff were very friendly, and the rooms were spotless. The entertainment on the whole was excellent, the female singer, the Bob Marley tribute, the circus, steel band.. all fabulous, the fashion show/singer…. well let’s say that was less so. The gentleman who does the entertainment was also unfriendly, and unaproachable.. unless you were a returner.. The booking of restaurants is a pain, because you can only book the Casanova once at a time.. if all the restaurants were of the same standard, then there wouldn’t be a need to clamour to get the only decent place to eat.. all the food should be of the same quality! Overall, whilst it’s a beautiful resort, the unfriendly, unwelcoming staff members makes this a place I wouldn’t want to return to. Such a shame, but being made to feel uncomfortable and unwelcome doesn’t encourage me to return. Read less
