“Can’t recommend more!!”

My husband and I went to Dunn’s River recently for our honeymoon. I cannot rave enough about how amazing of an experience we had. The resort is beautiful, not too big, very clean, and has such a fun and positive atmosphere. We stayed in a room with a sky pool and loved it so much. Now on to the staff: Tenniel and Shawn were absolutely amazing butlers and went above and beyond to make sure we were always taken care of. They were extremely kind, selfless, and always putting a smile on our face. Tyrell at the bar quickly became one of our favorite people and was so kind to everyone he encountered. We ended up visiting him every night and now consider him a friend. Not to mention - he makes amazing drinks (coming from someone who doesn’t drink much). Hennessy, Tiana, Jada, and Omanda were all wonderful as well. They are amazing human beings who bring so much joy to everyone around them. We got to eat breakfast with Tiana and it felt like we had known her for years. Needless to say, we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect honeymoon. The best resort and the best staff ever. We cannot wait to come back again. Thank you, Sandals, for becoming our home away from home!

We’ve just got back from 2 weeks at SDR. The resort itself is beautiful and well maintained. Gym is fantastic. Don’t expect a sunbed by the pool unless you have a butler or are up at the crack of dawn. We were in the lowest grade room and were very pleased with it, spacious and comfortable. We met so many great staff but there are some we want to call out as they really deserve the recognition: Orwen and Jahvoy from Saltaire at breakfast and lunch - they always bought the best service, the endless smiles…& the pepper mill! Toni-Ann from the rooftop and beach bar - she really looked after us, it was a pleasure (& thanks for the new card game ;)). Javhon at Lapadus bar - he really loves his craft and made us his twist on an old fashioned which took over a day to prepare! King and Vikram at Banyu Asian restaurant - having learnt that we love spicy food (& we’re struggling a little with the rather bland food offering across the resort in general), King asked chef Vikram to make us two off menu dishes. They were packed with flavour and it was a greatly appreciated personal touch. Venicia from housekeeping, 7th floor Travertine - she was so good that we could tell when she had her days off without her even telling us. Overall, in our opinion this is not a resort for a long stay as it’s a bit too small and we were disappointed by the food quality but the people are wonderful.

This was our 2nd time visiting Sandals Dunns River, and I wanted to share some spectacular moments we experienced on our recent vacation. Orwen, an amazing heart felt, sweet smile server at Saltaire, has an impeccable knack for hospitality. After getting to know us on our first visit, he remembered what we liked for our morning beverages; black coffee and champagne (of course!). Our champagne glasses were always awaiting our arrival after we gathered our food at the breakfast buffet, and they were always protected with a small bowl over the top so we wouldn’t loose our bubbles! Over the course of our stay he tried different shapes and configurations of the covers over our glasses, to keep it whimsical and fun (I have a collection of photos :). One day, my husband and I were floating in the pool, lost track of time, and he found us to serve a delicious Jamaican lunch plated and wrapped for us to enjoy poolside. Obviously Orwen did not want us to miss out on the tastes of Jamaica, and we were so grateful we didn’t! Orwen has the gift of observation to see what is needed to make your dining experience an absolute delight! I would also like to give a huge a shout out to the entertainment staff. Mother Hen Hennessy has an impeccable vision and skill bringing entertainment to life, not to mention creating a fabulous entertainment team!!! Omanda, Rebecca-Jane, Tiana, Shekeela, Shivia, Akeem, Ray (amazing vocals!), Johneil (amazing vocals!), Jordan and Conrad (Connie)….all day, everyday they are present, friendly, fun, funny, and genuinely heartfelt. This entertainment crew makes SDR sparkle! As for hanging around the pool, Najae took care of us cabana-side and even poolside. He treated us like family, and always brought the fun and love during our carefree floating and relaxation. We appreciated his timing, attentiveness, shining smile and positive vibes. There were also other amazing poolside peeps; Ricardo, Akil and many more! Plus the pool bar bartenders Andre and Aljay. And I would be remissed to not mention Jevone from Club Sandals. He went over above and beyond during our stay helping us feel comfortable, festive and fun, especially with his playful humor. Well done SDR, you have a piece of our hearts.
