Our Sandals trip started at the airport where we had snacks and drinks at the Sandals airport lounge before we were transported to the resort. Once at the resort we were greeted with cool towels and a beverage. The food here is amazing and the service is even better. There are so many activities to partake in that you don't have to leave the resort. The activities included scuba diving, paddleboarding, canoeing, and wine tasting. I can't say enough about what an amazing trip we had!! Just bring enough cash as there is no atm and some staff can be tipped. If you go off resort, tips are expected by non Sandals employees. We just returned from a week at Sandals Dunns River for our anniversary and were blown away by our experience. The resort was beautiful - fresh, clean, and not too large. Only downside I think is the setup of pools…if you thought the swim up bar pool was the party spot you would be wrong. The beach bar is far superior in that regard. But the pool by the beach bar is often flocked with an older crowd looking for quiet. Not a huge deal but the beach bar is definitely where it’s at, but you figure that out pretty quick. The shows were good, though I wish they had an elevated stage so you could see the shows better. The food was of high quality and consistent. But the people who work there were absolutely phenomenal. So I will focus my review mainly on them, as they were the bright spot in our week and why we would return again. We stayed at a Club Sandals level room, Travertine Beachfront with a great view, and Tori at Club Sandals was always so nice and was eager to help us with anything we needed all week long. Shoutout to Desauny as well for helping us. The beach bar was a highlight of our week. We enjoyed our time there with music, games, and fun people to be around. The atmosphere there is great since it is centrally located and staffed with great people. Antionette and Mark were some of our favorite bar tenders the entire week. Seymour also was a great bar tender and a hard worker! We saw him sun up to sun down hard at work. Go see Nelton at the rooftop bar for a high quality drink, he knows how to make some good ones. Tenesha at Saltaire (buffet) was always a shining start to the mornings, and I had several great conversations with King at the restaurants. Damian at the seaside grill was so friendly and attentive, he even made sure we had fresh beef patties right before our bus picked us up to leave! Talk about service! Kimani is a bright spot upon arrival, was always happy every day, and we were happy to see him again when we left. We had a really nice candlelight dinner at the pier (shoutout Tori at Club Sandals again) and Everon took good care of us for the dinner. We really enjoyed this private dinner and the pier was a great location for it. The Greek restaurant Edessa was our standout favorite, I would go back for that meal again. French was just ok, Sushi was good (try the firecracker), Italian was great. Zuka was good though my wife wasn’t a fan of the pork chop she got. Jerk Shack was a daily meal for me and I was impressed with the food there! Try the small bites at the Rum Bar! Blum coffee shop was a cool spot and a good place to chill. Do the water activities! Kayaking, snorkeling, paddle boarding, etc - are all so much fun and included. Last but certainly not least we can’t say enough good things about Henisa, Conrad, and O’Ryan. They are great people! Henisa is so nice and was keen to help us understand Jamaican culture, which was awesome. And she was just thoughtful in general, giving us tips and her amazing insight. Conrad was so much fun and someone we were drawn to immediately because of his fun loving attitude and outgoing personality. O’Ryan is extremely talented, get that man a record deal. We were happy to have enjoyed our time hanging with him and enjoying his music. These three are gems, find them, befriend them, and you will know what I mean. If you go here, get to know the people you meet that work here. You will love them. My wife and I will miss our friends we made, and certainly hope we are lucky enough to see them again. Read less

Had an amazing December getaway at Sandals Dunns River for our free week. The skypool room was nice, although we didn't get into the pool, but once. When we did, we had to call for it to be cleaned due to paint overspray floating on top of the water. The pool team squared it away within a few minutes. Otherwise, the room was great. The resort is small, which we enjoyed. We were told it was at 90%, but we only waited in line once, and that was the morning of departure. The management team has this resort running very well for a recently opened resort. Shout out to Melissa and her staff. They are great!! She remembered us from another resort on another visit. Entertainment was awesome! The only thing we didn't like is they had a show at the bar on the beach. The show was great, but it wasn't that much space between the performers and spectators. The Rum Club is a major plus. Great drinks and food. The oxtail sliders were something we didn't know that we needed. They should have them at other resorts! Our bultlers were Shaw & Martin. They were top 3 of all our butler teams over 10 trips. They weren't overbearing even though we were low maintenance. They did everything we asked and then some. We traveled with friends who used a wheelchair and this team took care of all 4 of us as if we were their only clients. When we come back, we definitely want this duo again. If we could assign them to us to use every other resort where we book, we'd definitely do it! We would definitely come back to this resort. It may not accommodate our whole travel group comfortably, but a few of us here or there would enjoy this resort. Clean up the beach a bit, and this spot is 5 stars! Melissa, keep up the great work! Staff was super nice and went out of their way to ensure that your stay is awesome! However we waited a LONG time for food pretty much anywhere we went, I guess that’s why this is the country for laid back relaxin’ mon! lol Also the food in the resort was subpar compared to the food out in the neighborhoods. Have a taxi driver take you out to eat!
