A Truly Exceptional Experience – Our New Home Away from Home
We recently returned from the Sandals Royal Plantation, and even after nine wonderful days, it was still incredibly difficult to leave. We actually departed a day early on Saturday, October 25th, to avoid Hurricane Melissa, but our hearts were still very much there.
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by warm, familiar smiles and even welcomed personally by the hotel manager who knew us by name — something I’ve never experienced before at any resort. That level of genuine hospitality set the tone for what would become one of the best vacations we’ve ever had.
We had just come from Sandals Royal Caribbean, which was lovely in its own way, but it simply couldn’t compare to the level of personalized service and attention to detail we experienced at Royal Plantation. Originally, we were booked for seven nights at Sandals Ochi and three nights at Royal Plantation, but after just one night, we knew we wanted to stay at Plantation for our entire trip.
A special thank-you to Omar, the General Manager, who seamlessly made that change for us. He handled everything with such professionalism and care, allowing us to completely relax and enjoy every moment of our stay.
Our two incredible butlers, Bigs and Ricky, were simply outstanding. Both were friendly, attentive, and dedicated to ensuring every detail was perfect. They truly elevated our experience. Anthony needs to be mentioned, he was not our butler but you wouldn't have known it thanks to his service.
We also want to extend our gratitude to the Loyalty and Travel team — Mr. Bean and Sequoia — for taking care of both our spring and fall bookings. It was a pleasure working with you, and your efficiency and kindness did not go unnoticed.
Marvin, the Operations Manager, also deserves high praise. The resort runs like a well-oiled machine under his guidance — everything flowed perfectly, and his professionalism shone through in every detail. I’ll always be grateful for his thoughtful insight and the special mention of page 61 in All That’s Good — a meaningful touch that truly resonated with us and reflects the resort’s culture of excellence.
Every staff member we encountered went above and beyond. Lashawna greeted us with a big smile and a keen eye for detail. Stephnie provided wonderful service, while Romaine kept the atmosphere lively and fun. Donello ensured my glass was never empty, and Natalia made breakfast a joy every morning, remembering our preferences without even needing to ask. Vanya was incredibly attentive and a true pleasure to be around, while Chevon provided excellent service at the French restaurant. And a heartfelt thank-you to Wayne, the Food and Beverage Manager, whose leadership and dedication were evident in the consistency and excellence of his entire team.
Finally, a special thank-you once again to Omar, whose tireless efforts to help us find a flight home in the midst of the storm were deeply appreciated.
Sandals Royal Plantation has truly become our new home away from home. The warmth, professionalism, and genuine care shown by every member of the team have set a new standard for hospitality. Customer service like this simply doesn’t exist anymore, and we are beyond grateful to have found such a remarkable place.
We are already counting down the days until our return.
