Monarch Oceanfront Butler Suites are located in the West Wing and feature a dining space and marble-laden bathroom.

Royal Monarch Oceanfront Butler Suites are located in the West Wing, and are larger open-partition plan rooms, separating the living space and the bedroom. Each room has a marble bath tub.

Grand Duke Oceanfront Butler Suites are larger suites and are located in the East Wing. These rooms are open-partition plan rooms, featuring bathroom with Roman soaking tub and separate walk-in shower.

Grand Duchess Oceanfront Verandah Butler Suites are located in the West Wing and feature a large, spectacular verandah overlooking the ocean. The bathroom features Roman soaking tub and separate walk-in shower.

Royal Oceanfront One Bedroom Butler Suites overlook the resort's East Beach. These suites feature a luxurious marble bathroom with large Roman tub and separate walk-in shower.

Imperial Oceanfront One Bedroom Butler Suites are located atop the resort's beachfront West Wing. These suites feature two walkout balconies, a separate living area, and bathroom with walk-in shower and Roman soaking tub.

Governor General Oceanfront One-Bedroom Butler Suites are located on the top floor of the beachfront West Wing. These suites feature a spacious living and dining area, separate from the grand master bedroom, bathroom with a walk-in shower and Roman soaking tub, and two balconies.

Villa Plantana is a unique expansive villa comprising of 1-, 2- or 3-bedrooms complete with its own swimming pool. My husband and I visited this resort May 2-9. It was absolutely beautiful, peaceful and the perfect vibe for us. Most guests were over 40. There was not a "club" atmosphere which was perfect as we are in are late 50's and no longer in the "party all night" stage of life. The resort was smaller- 75 rooms which made it intimate and cozy. The general manager, Omar, greeted us by name daily and ensured all our needs were met. Our butlers, Tamara and Carlos, were the best. They lined up dinner reservations, escorted us to dinner on the adjoining property (Sandals Ochos), set up tee times for my husband to play golf, kept our room stocked with favorite drinks and brought us lunch on the beach. We were able to visit Sandals Ochos, which had more of the "energetic" crowd a few night for dinner. The downside to going there was waiting on shuttle busses to transfer between the 2 properties. Busses ran every 45-60 minutes. So we had to plan our night around the transport times. Not a big deal, just something to consider. The other thing to mention is that the Royal Plantation has no elevators. Everything is stairs. Even getting down to the beach. So if mobility is an issue for you, please keep this in mind. My knees were talking to me within a few days. Airport transfer was well coordinated but took over 2 hours to get to the property due to traffic. Return to airport was in the morning so not as bad. All of our meals were delicious on both properties. And tea time at the royal plantation was a nice treat too. We had a wonderful time and look forward to a future visit! Read less

This was hands down the best vacation my wife and I experienced. We were deciding between a few places to celebrate our 30-year wedding anniversary and thrilled that we chose Sandals Royal Plantation. Omar, the GM, and his team brought the word hospitality to a whole new level. We were serenated with a welcome home tribute upon arriving at the resort followed by a tour of the property. This certainly set the tone for the entire trip. Omar’s team treated us as if we were the only guests on the property; the consistency, the charm and the catering toward our every need was anticipated and delivered upon. Our butler’s Safyia and Oraine were nothing short of professional, charming, accommodating and everything in between. Chevon, a server at the Terrace and the French restaurant was our favorite. We loved how engaging he was and particularly adored his passion for music. This goes without saying, we will definitely be back! This was a First to Jamaica and a first to Sandals and we definitely made the right choice in this resort. We were looking at finding a new happy place after many years in Barbados at a hotel which has sadly lost its wow factor in our opinion. After a long day travelling we arrived at the hotel to a warm welcome and a rum punch. We were shown to our room ( room 61 a Royal Monarch ocean front room) it was late so we unpacked and prepared for the next 10 days. The room was spacious and clean of a traditional Caribbean feel. All rooms are ocean front giving those surreal sun rises and sun sets. The rooms were serviced daily and turn down provided at night. Mini bar replenishment was provided and an ice bucket. The hotel manager Omar runs a well oiled hotel and his enthusiasm and commitment oozes in abundance across the whole team. Omar has the most incredible memory and greets all guests personally each time he sees you and is a very highly visible manager which I feel is important. This is an all butler resort and we were allocated Chase and Neil who made contact with us first thing on our first morning. We discussed our requests and they were on hand throughout our stay. We had very few requests and they appreciated we were there for complete R and R. They booked our dinner reservations and walked us into the restaurants each evening. We had those little extra treats brought to the sun bed which were unexpected and appreciated. Sun-beds are available in abundance and beach towels available at various points constantly being replenished. We always got a spot we wanted and sat out pre breakfast with a coffee. There are so many staff members that deserve recognition but sadly we didn’t get all their names. Some we did were Sequoia from loyalty who would always stop for a chat and her boss Manesh , Joseph and chevon from Le Pappilon. Sheree and Stephanie at breakfast at The Terrace and Romaine and Andre at The Terrace in the evenings. There are several restaurants to choose from. Our favourite was the French. All food whether breakfast , lunch or dinner was of exceptional quality. I could go on and on. We loved this place so much we have booked for the next two years!! Read less

Last night was Jamaica night, I had been hoping to see Nico Mystique music again but sadly he was not here. We were very pleasantly entertained by Brandon & Natika last night. Wow, voices were brilliant! They also did unrehearsed duets that were so believable as though it was sung about yourself, so touching. My husband and I visited Royal Plantation as first time Sandals guests, and not only were we pleasantly surprised, but it exceeded our expectations. As this is an historic Jamaican property, it has a timeless class and elegance about it, a real boutique experience. This was emphasized for us when we took advantage of the opportunity to visit the Sandals Dunns River property - a large, glitzy complex. We had a lovely dinner, but it was a bit of sensory overload and we were glad to return to the quiet comfort of the Royal Plantation. The staff is the real star of the show here. In the lead is the incomparable General Manager, Omar Robinson, whose spirit of hospitality is evidenced by his genuine pleasure in engaging with each and every guest. We hit the Butler jackpot with Tamara and Carlos, who surprised and delighted us at every opportunity, including a candlelit bubble bath awaiting us upon return from a beach day, and spontaneously delivering our favorite dessert from our dinner the evening before, to us poolside the next day. Logistically, all our dinner and spa reservations were effortlessly coordinated for us, and any changes or requests were graciously accommodated. The entire staff in general is incredibly professional and helpful, yet have a playful nature about them. We very much appreciated the attention to detail and their anticipation of our needs, like showing up with an icy cocktail at the exact moment we were thinking of one! Almost everyone we spoke with is a returning Sandals guest, which speaks volumes about the brand, and particularly Royal Plantation, as we met multiple guests who had been there dozens of times. In fact our only complaint is that as the beach and pool seating is limited, many returning guests who are aware of this get somewhat aggressive about reserving chairs for themselves and their group, even if they won’t be occupying them for hours. There is another beach, but as it is designated a Smoker’s Beach, it was not an option for us. Overall, this ticked all the boxes for us. We enjoyed all our dining and spa experiences, and the property is immaculate. We are looking forward to seeing the room renovations that had just commenced on our visit, as we surely will return again in the future.
