Amaranto Restaurant serves an international show-cooking buffet with global cuisine and theme nights, open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Villa Marina Restaurant is a pool-area buffet serving international cuisine for breakfast and lunch. Bluemoon Restaurant offers romantic à la carte dining with breakfast for El Beso guests (08:00–11:00) and dinner for adults (18:00–22:00). Sakura Restaurant features oriental and teppanyaki cuisine (17:30–22:00). Route 66 Restaurant presents typical American à la carte dishes (17:30–22:00). Margarita Restaurant specialises in Mexican à la carte cuisine (18:00–22:00). Steak House Restaurant is an à la carte steakhouse (18:00–22:00). Pez Vela Restaurant is a beachside à la carte venue with Caribbean flavours (opening times published via the hotel app). La Locanda Restaurant offers Italian fine dining (18:00–22:00). La Terraza Restaurant features show-cooking unlimited à la carte options (18:00–21:00). Resort Fees

Guests staying in the Mexican state Quintana Roo are required to pay a travel tax of $11 per adult (over 15 years old), subject to change. “Good escape from the cold and snow”

My spouse and I stayed there Jan. 7 to 21. The weather was great and it was good to get away from the cold and snow. Our thoughts: Mike's coffee is great—good coffee and snacks. We really enjoyed going there at least twice a day. We enjoyed the Italian restaurant (La Locanda) , although it can get noisy inside and the food can be inconsistent. Sitting outside was the best option if you preferred a quiet meal and wanted to chat. The French (Bluemoon) we only visited once. We ordered the Chicken Fricassee and what we got was a piece of chicken breast dried out so we chocked on it first bite. Not French chicken fricassee.....the cook there needs to go back to cooking school and learn what French cooking is all about. We sent our meals back as they were not edible. No sauce and dry as cardboard. The Mexican Restaurant (Margarita) we only visited once. The food there was not good. The neighbouring table left their meals and our waiter apologized for the food and stated it was not Mexican. I had the chicken in mole sauce and I could have made it better. This place needs a revised menu with items like fajitas on the menu Pez Vela on the beach was our favorite— pizzas, friend fish, fish tacos..............excellent. We had lunch there every day --sometimes an early supper if we skipped lunch as they were open till 5:30. The Japanese (Sakura) left us disappointed. Our chef must have been new as she put a half hearted effort into the cooking display, while the others really looked good. She ignited a fire twice, then cooked the food quickly and then ran off right after she served the food. Also the booking for this restaurant was terrible. People lined up at 7 am and the booking started at 8. This was NOT worth it. I don't know why you can't book this restaurant online like some of the others. Also you can line up and wait and find out that there is no room left (unless you buy into the Mayan dinner show). No sign up stating that no spots are left. Buffet (Amaranto) we used for breakfast only. Fruit was good and fresh and good selection of breads and baked goods. Line ups for the eggs and omelettes were too long so we never really lined up as there was enough other food. Route 66 was good for late night snacks especially as we were a late night arrival. Steak House, our fish was overdone and the second time we had the steak which was not the best as it was too well done (not as requested) and not tender. Ocean Burger was good for a quick lunch of a burger or hot dog. Casual place poolside. The ice cream parlour was good and it also had 2 non dairy selections for the lactose intolerant. My main complaint about the restaurants is the inconsistency. The meal one night was excellent while the same meal the following week was not as good and different! Also the restaurants were very noisy — sound seemed to echo. The gym and tennis courts were well used. Not enough room in the gym for stretching so we took the mats outside. There was one pickleball court and we used it the first week but could not get on the court the second week as it was always in use in the mornings when cooler to play. Our room was spacious and good maid service. The bars were good and service excellent. All the staff was friendly and greeted everyone. We tried to find the yoga, it said it was in El Beso and I guess that was only for their use as we were told we could not access by the security there. El Beso is the adults only section but they do not have their own restaurant (only for breakfast and snacks).Excellent resort for families but I would not recommend for seniors and couples who enjoy quiet dinners.

I came down to Mexico with family and we were pretty excited as these photos made this hotel look pretty good. I must say, I have no idea who in the world is rating this hotel to give it 5 stars ! The reservation system for the restaurants are a disaster. Needing to wait on a long line to book with the front desk was terrible. The staff simply doesn’t care about the guests whatsoever. The only one I can credit was a waitress named Patricia at Amaranto who helped us out a lot (i think she’s the only Reason I gave this place 2 stars) . They were missing both my Sisters reservations at the front desk even after they had a conformation number. One of my Sisters is pregnant with two kids they were not accommodating whatsoever when they couldn’t find her reservation we had to fight hard to get her a room with two beds ! Get ready for every staff member to just say “no” to everything Drinks all watered down. Pool water was freezing cold. Their systems on which pools you are allowed to use and cannot make no sense either. Bottom line is there are plenty of resorts in Mexico that I’ve heard far better reviews on !
