I hate that I have to write this review because I have stayed here before and experienced better service. But this time I did not have a good experience, at all. My friend and I booked a room at the Novotel for a conference (second year in a row) I called to asked for early check in for her because her travel was challenging. They said they would try to accommodate her but ultimately couldn't . Not being able to accommodate is aye okay, but the woman at the desk being unpleasant and displaying eye rolling and behavior that communicates she doesn't like her job, is not okay. Later that evening, we arrive together to check in and now the gentlemen checking us in, takes my ID barely says a word, and now my experience with check in is also filled with a lack of warmth. Meanwhile he and his coworkers are speaking in French to one another not acknowledging us at the front. We head to bed. The next morning we notice as we shower that the bathroom ceiling is disgusting! Photo attached. We have plans to go on a boat so we leave. We come back at 557pm. Our room is NOT cleaned. I talk to the ladies directly bc I see some of them in the hallway. They are very kind. An order for them to clean our room, we leave to the rooftop. While up there, we meet an employee who was very kind Michael. He was helpful when we couldn't find the towels, a great conversationalist and he had Top tier hospitality. I also had a cocktail, that was very average. We return to our room and see that it's obvious the sheets on the bed were not changed. The pillows have makeup on them. In addition nothing was wiped down, bc it was still sticky in spots where we had dropped dipping sauce on the counter, from unpacking our boat snacks. The next day it was time to check out, Upon exit we experienced a very kind and hospitable employee mauhammad Ali.
I think he could tell I was ready to check out, and a tad irritated. He said he would comp our parking for that day. He made me smile and laugh. Overall Part of booking a hotel is to stay in a clean place. And this did not meet that standard at all. Paired with the staff that were not welcoming upon arrival make me not want to stay here again. The lobby is gorgeous and l love the size of the bathrooms, and the beds are so comfortable however, zero stars on cleanlyness! I am providing two stars to honor the two employees who treated us with hospitality and kindness. But if I hadn't met them I'd provide one star.
