We liked it so much that we extended our stay! The room was spacious, stylish, and comfortable with great amenities, and the area around the W is walkable and full of energy. We went to Komodo 1 night and Hell’s Kitchen 2 nights for dinner which both were in walking distance.
One unexpected amenity was a Zumba class at the hotel. It was high energy, upbeat, and a great way to burn calories after delicious dinners. Definitely not something I usually do on vacation, but I’m glad I went.
Huge shoutout to George at the W hotel’s Tulum Restaurant who was a standout. He has a warm, welcoming energy that elevated our breakfast experience including his amazing caramel latte which I’ll miss when I’m home. He also made thoughtful recommendations including the pancakes and ensured everything arrived timely without ever feeling rushed. The food was delicious, George’s service was impeccable. and the views on the rooftop made this a 5 star experience.
All in all, W Miami exceeded my expectations. Between the incredible service, the amazing location, the surprises like Zumba, and the stylish room, we’re looking forward to staying again.

We have stayed previously at W hotels and expected the same cleanliness, quality of common areas, quality of service and amenities that we associate with this brand. Upon arrival on Sunday July 20, 2025, we were struck with the poor interior and reception desk, no one offered to assist with our baggage when we valeted our car. We told the front desk representative we were tired and hungry and asked for directions to the restaurant. We were informed that the restaurant was closed as of 5:00 PM. We specifically chose the W because it stated it had a rooftop bar and restaurant. We voiced our concerns since we did not want to change and go out to dinner, we were told to order Door Dash.
We chose to leave our bags in the room and go out to dinner, so we did not pay attention to the room at that time. We arrived back at the room around 8:40 PM. As we were unpacking we then began to see many room issues: first the corridors to the room were dark and unwelcoming, the room had a moldy odor, the glass enclosure and tile in the shower in our room was dirty, wallpaper was peeling, the carpet was dingy, the windows have not been cleaned in a long time and green algae was growing on them, a filthy t-shirt was on the ledge outside the window. The conditions of this hotel and room were more on a par with a much cheaper hotel, not what is expected at a W.
We thought it was important to let Bonvoy Marriott know our concerns and need for an inspection because this hotel was not W Quality, so we called the Bonvoy 888 number and voiced our opinions. We then spoke to the front desk representative, by this time it was late, and we were very tired, we did not want to pack up and move to another room, we told her we would be checking out in the morning, but we needed the since manager to contact us the next morning. No one from hotel management called us Monday July 21st or any day since. We were charged for Monday night even though we gave notice Sunday and we checked out for good cause.
The Kimpton Hotel right across the river is a far superior hotel with amazing restaurants and amenities for a far cheaper rate.
We hope someone in a position of responsibility gives us the courtesy of contacting us.
