Kimpton EPIC Hotel

Downtown Miami, Miami

Star rating

The hotel

Epic by name and epic by nature, the Kimpton Epic sits along the water’s edge, overlooking the glistening Biscayne Bay. Take a dip into one of the two rooftop pools, and sip on a cocktail in your private poolside cabana. Seeing as you’re set on the waterfront, seafood is a must, and you can dine looking out on the sea itself. In need of some me-time? Head to the spa for a treatment, or try your hand at a yoga class. And when the evenings roll in, head out and experience one of Miami’s cool bars, or retreat to your room for some down-time.

Check in was not available at 4pm annoying after a flight. Didn’t get a text to say when the room was ready. Main issue as I spent ages choosing a hotel with a pool for my kids etc. the pool is open for any one to get to from the public so no way are all the people at the pool hotel guests it was like a zoo there and the music was absolutely awful pounding I left after ten mins with a pounding headache. My kids hated it too. I mentioned the music level to the staff as it is utterly ridiculous at 3pm and I’m pretty sure in response they turned the music up. So basically paid to stay at a place you couldn’t access the pool. Room wasn’t made up the first day. I think this is where randoms from the public turn up for a free pool experience and horrendous loud music but if you want a resort vibe and some pool time choose elsewhere this was a form of torture for me!
