Highly recommend! TRUE Five Star resort hotel on South Beach. Fantastic room, pools, and property. The gym was the nicest I’ve ever seen in a hotel. Phenomenal, attentive, and helpful staff who were warm and provided first rate hospitality.

This review is considerably longer than I would normally write, but everyone at the 1 Hotel really went above and beyond.
This time was an overdue father-son Labor Day weekend with my 15-year-old. I used to live in Miami, but he’d only been there for breakfast once before we got on a cruise. So, I wanted to open his eyes and show him a real, five-star experience on South Beach and in Miami.
I told the staff about my mission, and they all went out of their way to help make it happen. They engaged my son in real conversations about what he might like to do and see. They were all very caring, often telling him what a great idea this father-son trip was, while calling him by his first name while referring to me as Mr. S….
So, I’ve tried to name them below to thank them individually here.
At the front desk, Selim got us checked in extra early and arranged for late checkout. The front desk even scheduled a late afternoon concierge shower so we could enjoy the awesome pools and the beach before our evening flight back home.
The deck staff at the pool, Medvin and Gabyson, were super nice and got us great spots to lounge poolside.
At the rooftop restaurant, Natalie and Olga got us great tables on the fly and with great views. Juan and Jesus provided really outstanding service. Plus lunch was delicious and my frozen watermelon margaritas were exactly what the doctor ordered!
At breakfast, the hostesses and our waitresses, Mirian, Paula, and Svetlana, provided outstanding service. The food was amazing (best scrambled eggs ever)!
Plus, Mirian went way out of her way to HAND-WRITE US A PERSONAL LIST OF THINGS MY SON AND I MIGHT LIKE TO DO TOGETHER on South Beach, at Wynnwood, and in Brickell. I’ve stayed at a lot of five-star hotels. I’ve never had anyone do that for me and my family.
Similarly, our concierge, Mickey helped us with specific recommendations about where to eat, including the best local Cuban restaurant. He also arranged for meals outside the hotel and had the bellman hold our luggage after we checked out, so we could squeeze in Wynwood the last afternoon and he told us exactly where to start there.
Finally, the main doorman Dennis was super friendly, always helping us individually with rides to go explore and warmly welcoming us back. Like all the other wonderful staff, he took a particular interest in my son and making sure he was having a great first experience on South Beach and in Miami.
My wife and I are already planning to come back to the hotel and bring my son and one of his buddies to explore more on their own, while she and I enjoy spending a little time together being back home in Miami.
