Bringing an edgy yet sexy Espanola vibe to South Beach, Esme is a hotel come “village” that offers a fun and sophisticated place to stay to enjoy the best of Miami. There’s no doubt that the rooftop deck is the place to be here. Chill at the pool by day, whether it’s in the water or on the very ‘instagrammable’ day beds. As the day draws to a close, enjoy a sundowner from The Roof Bar and soak up the music. Live DJ sessions carry on into the night on Friday’s and Saturdays so you can celebrate the weekend in style. There’s plenty of other bars and restaurants to enjoy at Esme, make sure you book a reservation at the hidden Sushi Bar with only 12 prized seats so you can devour nigiri to your hearts content. As you walk through the buildings of the hotel you’ll feel like you’ve stepped into Spain with the plant lined terraces and deep red tones, and then that glorious sunshine will hit you as you leave the lobby – where you’re just 4 minutes’ stroll from Ocean Drive and the beach itself. If you carry on down past the Versace Mansion (which we’d recommend booking into for lunch!) to the Art Deco Gift Shop, you can join a tour of the Art Deco district. Or make use of the complimentary bicycle rental from the hotel to explore Miami Beach at your own agenda. If it’s more down time you’re looking for, the hotel offers a beach service with towels and chairs too.

We stayed in this hotel and we loved it! perfect location, very nice employees, I have to say that we were a bit upset because at the check in time, nobody told us about all the amenities that the hotel offer, as the location of the pool, the beach cheers and towels, the happy hour, the bikes ... so we used it just the last 3 days, a very nice girl from the reception told us about it, she is Colombian, and she is very attentive to the details, and tried to help us with everything. But we have to say that our favorite part was the breackfast people !!! Miriam and Sara, just AMAZING EMPLOYEES; they represent hospitality and what comes with it, they were super attentive with us every single day, they gave us the best recommendations and they were super nice with us. The breackfast was very good You can see the difference between the days when they work and when they dont. Also a big shoutout to BRAYAN, the bellboy, super funny and nice !!! he helped us with eeeeverything, also he has a very nice colleague, older than him that helped us with everything. As a person that works in hospitality, we know the importance of the little details, and they definitely surpassed this ! We will choose the hotel for the next time for sure. Wisal

“Disappointed”

On arrival, our first impression was that the building is absolutely stunning and a short walk from the beach (5 mins). The hotel reception is beautiful. Arriving at the front desk we were greeted by Gabriel who was friendly and informed us he needed to charge $436 to our card; $136 for resort fees and $300 for damage deposit (which we expected). Gabriel advised the resort fees got us a lot of “extras” - access to the rooftop pool, but that was shut for refurbishment and free sun loungers and towels on the beach. However, when we got to the beach only 2 loungers and towels were provided, there were 4 of us, and we’d have to pay for an extra loungers - $21 per lounger!! So we essentially paid $136 for 2 sunloungers for 1 afternoon. The room was absolutely tiny with NO storage whatsoever, again not ideal for 4 adults with large suitcases! No matter, it was only for us to sleep in. We’d also been out in a room looking out on to Espanola Way which had loud music booming until 2am. On our 2nd and 3rd nights the fire alarm went off at 3:15am, we all got evacuated and were stood outside for half an hour. Turned out it was the restaurant attached to the hotel; apparently housekeeping were using chemicals which produced a vapour and it was setting off the alarm. On the second night this happened, the man on reception told us all that management would hear about this and we’d all be compensated. We were checking out the next day and asked if we could have a late. Heck out as we weren’t getting picked up for the airport until 7pm. We were given an extra hour (c/o is at 11am, we got until noon) but if we wanted to keep it any longer we’d have to pay a nightly fee of $130. I asked if this could be done as the compensation we were told about the previous night and was told no there’d be no compensation. So overall, our experience wasn’t great; we couldn’t use the pool, it was noisy, there weren’t enough sun loungers for all of us and we had 2 sleepless nights. Beautiful hotel in a good location but disappointed with the customer service.

This hotel is very well located. The Esmé is divided over several building on Espagnola Wat. We were lucky to stay in the Drexel building away from the noise of Espagnola. The hotel has a nice pool and rooftop and offers beach chairs just across the street from the Betsy (5 min walk) BUT you have to pay 22$ for a beach umbrella - so free chairs but you still have to pay. The rooms are tiny. We did not use housekeeping because there was no way they could enter our room with all the luggage..if you only have a weekend bag you should be fine but we have one large and one small piece of luggage per person and that does not fit in the room. So be prepared…. We have been on a cruise and honestly even our cruise cabin was more spatious. This being said…the Esme is a nice hotel in a historical building ideal for a short stay in SoBe
