Esme Miami Beach

South Beach, Miami

Star rating

The hotel

Bringing an edgy yet sexy Espanola vibe to South Beach, Esme is a hotel come “village” that offers a fun and sophisticated place to stay to enjoy the best of Miami. There’s no doubt that the rooftop deck is the place to be here. Chill at the pool by day, whether it’s in the water or on the very ‘instagrammable’ day beds. As the day draws to a close, enjoy a sundowner from The Roof Bar and soak up the music. Live DJ sessions carry on into the night on Friday’s and Saturdays so you can celebrate the weekend in style. There’s plenty of other bars and restaurants to enjoy at Esme, make sure you book a reservation at the hidden Sushi Bar with only 12 prized seats so you can devour nigiri to your hearts content. As you walk through the buildings of the hotel you’ll feel like you’ve stepped into Spain with the plant lined terraces and deep red tones, and then that glorious sunshine will hit you as you leave the lobby – where you’re just 4 minutes’ stroll from Ocean Drive and the beach itself. If you carry on down past the Versace Mansion (which we’d recommend booking into for lunch!) to the Art Deco Gift Shop, you can join a tour of the Art Deco district. Or make use of the complimentary bicycle rental from the hotel to explore Miami Beach at your own agenda. If it’s more down time you’re looking for, the hotel offers a beach service with towels and chairs too.

It was an unpleasant and disappointing interaction that really impacted my stay. Read less

We ended up staying at Esmé hotel after our originally booked hotel had to cancel due to refurbishment works, as such our booking was automatically re-routed to Esmé. I have to say, this situation made us nervous as we are quite particular with hotels and like to research them quite thoroughly prior to booking, on this occasion the re-arrangements were done quite late - as such we didn’t have time to research. I can say we were very pleasantly surprised with Esmé, the decor, initial scent as you enter the reception area and friendly staff all made for a good first impression. Further to this, the location just off Española way was very good, it is 2 located on Washington Ave - 2 blocks West from Ocean drive & 3 blocks South of Lincoln road. I would note that due to the close proximity to Española way that it can be slightly noisy, however the rooms seemed fairly well insulated so we weren’t disturbed by this. There is a rooftop pool, bar and sitting area which looks to be pleasant - we didn’t spend much time here so can’t comment much on this. The only downside we found was with regards to parking, while this is indeed a well populated area of South Beach, the sole parking option available with the hotel is Valet which was $55 for our SUV, we used this on the first night after a lengthy day of travelling from Scotland (and circa 5 hours worth of flight / airport delays), however we opted to self park at the Municipal parking garage on Collins Ave a few blocks away for $20 per day after this. Overall a pleasant experience - would recommend Read less

The hotel was fine overall, but a few things left us disappointed. I had booked a Premium King room, but the space was surprisingly small. While the vibe and interiors were stylish and the waitstaff were genuinely lovely, the overall experience didn’t match expectations. We were charged an additional $45 per night for a “village amenity fee” that wasn’t clearly disclosed before booking. This was on top of the city tax, and supposedly covered services like beach access — even if you don’t use them. The frustrating part is that when you actually go to the beach, you’re told you only get two chairs included and have to pay extra for a parasol, unless you want to roast in the sun. It felt misleading and borderline scammy — what’s the point of a resort fee if you still need to pay for basic comfort? Breakfast was also underwhelming. There’s a small buffet, but anything hot, like eggs or pancakes, comes at an extra cost. You only get boiled eggs included, which felt stingy for a hotel of this level. We apparently had VIP Access benefits, but never received the complimentary bottle of wine or any other perks. Only found out about it later, which added to the sense of being misled. In short: nice design and lovely staff, but be wary of the hidden fees and unfulfilled promises. We left feeling like the hotel prioritised upselling over hospitality. Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Don’t stay here if you want a good nights sleep

Jun 28, 2025 Nate M Ko Kret, Thailand

If you want to sleep at all — don’t book here. Multiple reviews with the same feedback but clearly the hotel doesn’t care. Music from the hotel roof bar so loud it rattles the windows till late at night. You’re either a night club or hotel — you can’t be both.
