We stayed twice at The Betsy within a two-week period, and the two experiences couldn’t have been more different. First Stay: After a 10-hour flight, we arrived tired and were disappointed right from the start. There was no greeting at the door, so we had to struggle in with our luggage ourselves. At reception, we were only offered water, and nothing about the welcome felt memorable. I had booked us a Betsy Balcony Suite, but the room (specifically Room 365) was nothing like the photos online. It was much smaller than portrayed, and, strangely, had an out-of-service lift inside the room—which was quite an eyesore. To make matters worse, my daughter’s brand-new bottle of Prada perfume, bought duty-free on Sunday, went missing by Tuesday night, with only the empty box left behind. This matter is still under investigation by the hotel. Overall, our first stay was a letdown. Second Stay: At the end of our holiday, we returned to The Betsy, and this time the experience was completely different—in the best way. We were greeted at the taxi, our luggage was taken in for us, and we were welcomed with prosecco for the adults and water for the kids. Art, the concierge, even stopped mid-conversation with other guests to come over and introduce himself. Our room, a simple King Suite that was around $400 cheaper than the Balcony Suite, was far better—considerably larger, better laid out, and free of any awkward “lift feature.” We also received turndown service during this stay, which hadn’t been offered during our first visit. Overall: The Betsy is a lovely hotel in a quieter part of South Beach, with a Starbucks across the street and direct access to Collins Avenue, where you’ll find plenty of shops, restaurants, and cafés. I would recommend The Betsy—but I hope future stays match the wonderful experience of our second visit rather than the disappointment of our first. Read less

I’ve traveled extensively across many countries and stayed in some of the world’s most renowned luxury hotels. From grand palaces in Europe to ultra-modern resorts in Asia, I’ve experienced every style of hospitality. Yet, my stay at The Betsy in Miami stands out as truly exceptional and it’s not because it’s the biggest or most extravagant. In fact, this is a relatively small boutique hotel, but what it delivers is pure, refined excellence. The heart of this experience is the service, and one person in particular made all the difference: Art, the concierge. In all my travels, I have never encountered a concierge so efficient, attentive, and genuinely invested in making a guest’s stay unforgettable. He is fast, proactive, and seems to anticipate needs before you even voice them. Art should honestly be voted the best concierge in Miami-Dade County perhaps even in all of Florida. From arranging last-minute reservations to offering insider local tips, his professionalism and warmth transformed my trip. It’s rare to meet someone in hospitality who operates at this level. If you want a Miami stay where you feel truly looked after in a place that blends charm, comfort, and world-class service The Betsy is THE address. Read less

We were walking to the Front Porch for breakfast and it was so darn hot that we looked at the menu outside the Betsy Hotel and said, “sold!” Let’s eat here. It was beyond wonderful. The ambiance, the portions, the absolutely adorable and kind server, and the serene music piped in made it a breakfast to remember. I live in NJ where breakfast spots and diners are the norm. It is hard to beat a good breakfast and the Betsy blew it out of the water. We are heading back tomorrow we loved it so much. Great food, personable service, and a non-rushed experience is the trifecta of greatness. Read less
