The Plymouth Miami Beach

South Beach, Miami

Star rating

The hotel

Take yourself just one or two blocks away from the hustle and bustle of South Beach, and you'll stumble across this hidden gem! You're still right in the heart of everything Miami has to offer - restaurants, bars and shops galore - but when you're chilling with a cocktail by the Art Deco style pool here, you'll feel completely chilled at the same time. If you're more of a beach person than the pool, hop aboard the The Plymobile and they'll take you straight to the beach hut where you can grab some towels and a lounge chair, and soak up the rays from the sand. It's not all rest though - try out a bit of kayaking or paddle boarding, or simply enjoy a good old game of connect 4 with your pals. You've surely heard of the famous Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar & Grill in New York - well now you can get your sashimi fix right here in Miami, and right here at this hotel! The high ceilings of the rooms give an airy, spacious feel. If you're travelling as a couple, we'd recommend the One Bedroom Terrace Suite so you enjoy a romantic soak in the bath tub, right in your own bedroom!

Let me cut to the chase: this hotel is dishonest, overpriced, and unprofessional. Let me cut to the chase: this hotel is dishonest, overpriced, and unprofessional. I paid nearly $500 for a two-night stay in what was advertised as a “Superior Double Queen,” but the beds were full size. Their much-promoted beach golf cart service had been out of commission for a month, yet they continued to advertise it. Because the booking was non-refundable, I had no choice but to stay or forfeit my money. When I raised these issues, the staff were rude, and when I followed up with management in writing, I was ignored entirely. This hotel takes your money, fails to deliver what it promises, and then refuses accountability. Save yourself the frustration and book literally anywhere else. Read less

This is a lovely boutique hotel very close to the beach with complimentary loungers and towels, close walking distance to a lovely shopping area in an area of fab art deco architecture! The staff are friendly and kind, they work hard to ensure needs of guests are met! The hotel is very clean, the rooms and bathrooms are great! Complimentary coffee pods, lovely toiletries. This is a chic, beautifully presented hotel where a lot of thought has gone in to its interiors but in an effortless manner, we felt very happy here with our 11y old. There is a pool but we spent our time on the gorgeous beach! Great stay very much recommended! Read less

I recently stayed at the Plymouth with my two adult daughters and overall we really enjoyed the experience. We had a nice big double double with comfy beds overlooking the pool area. The location is great just set back from Collins so it feels quiet but close to beaches and restaurants. We enjoyed the breakfast at Orange Blossom around the corner although despite paying extra for a third guest we didn't receive sufficient tokens to have breakfast each day. This wasn't a huge problem as we were setting off early on our last morning to drive down to the Keys. The pool area is very nice and the guy at the bar very friendly and mixed good cocktails. The staff overall are very friendly. My gripe is the lack of sunbeds. Guests often get to the pool early and put towels down for the day on beds and then wander off for shopping, breakfast, lunch etc. I saw some guests using two beds (one to store bags). My view is that a hotel with limited beds should have a policy to remove towels from unused beds after a period of time so other guests can also enjoy the pool. This did not happen and despite it not spoiling our stay it would make me question if I would return. Read less

We went to the Plymouth hotel in Miami in August. First of all the hotel is really cool designed and it has a cool vibe. We went to the Plymouth hotel in Miami in August. First of all the hotel is really cool designed and it has a cool vibe. I think that some of the staff members at the hotel didn’t really understand English as there are a lot of Spanish speakers in Miami, but it didn’t really turn out to be a big problem. If you’re staying at this hotel, you should claim the sun beds very early because they are really popular, but I love staying at the pool although I think it should be cleaned more because I saw that it was pretty dirty. We got upgraded to the biggest room in the whole hotel, and it was really really big, and had a lot of space for me and my father, with two beds, one you could turn into a bed from a sofa (that wasn’t so comfortable), one normal 2 persons bed, and two bathrooms with two showers and two toilets. also a lot of space and many chairs. The only problem with the bathrooms was particularly my bathroom where it was dripping from the roof so when you were sitting at the toilet, the water would drip down on your head, so that was a little bit uncomfortable and I don’t really know what type of water that was. I think the breakfast was really good. We ate breakfast at the orange Blossom cafe everyday. Even though you always had to wait outside before you could go in because of the popularity, which was a little bit uncomfortable since I can’t really handle the heat that well and you would have to stand in the heat for some time. There was also some technical issues where I wasn’t able to charge my phone so I had to charge in the lobby, but they managed it. I really love the pool bar and the bartender was a really nice guy and he made very good virgin piña colada’s. The pool bar also provides free 50+ SPF sunscreen and a cool down cream. I would definitely come back. This is really recommended. Read less

Hot water was not reliable. Also, If you are a short person, 5'3, could not reach hangers to hang clothes up. Golf cart to beach was broke also. No other food options in hotel besides sushi. Was there for work so didn't have a choice
