The Plymouth Miami Beach

South Beach, Miami

Star rating

The hotel

Take yourself just one or two blocks away from the hustle and bustle of South Beach, and you'll stumble across this hidden gem! You're still right in the heart of everything Miami has to offer - restaurants, bars and shops galore - but when you're chilling with a cocktail by the Art Deco style pool here, you'll feel completely chilled at the same time. If you're more of a beach person than the pool, hop aboard the The Plymobile and they'll take you straight to the beach hut where you can grab some towels and a lounge chair, and soak up the rays from the sand. It's not all rest though - try out a bit of kayaking or paddle boarding, or simply enjoy a good old game of connect 4 with your pals. You've surely heard of the famous Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar & Grill in New York - well now you can get your sashimi fix right here in Miami, and right here at this hotel! The high ceilings of the rooms give an airy, spacious feel. If you're travelling as a couple, we'd recommend the One Bedroom Terrace Suite so you enjoy a romantic soak in the bath tub, right in your own bedroom!

The Plymouth was just the place I needed for a long weekend staycation with my bestie! We enjoyed a room overlooking the pool, that was spotless and super comfortable. To begin with, my room reservation was mishandled. I was given the wrong room type, and although I was repeatedly told that the issue would be resolved, nothing ever was. The front desk kept making promises they simply could not deliver on. In addition, my room was unbearably hot—completely uncomfortable for a summer stay in Miami. I attempted to call the front desk several times for help, but no one answered. I had to go downstairs myself just to get assistance. Eventually, they sent a maintenance person to check the issue, but it didn’t improve the situation at all. As a last resort, they gave me a small fan. To pay this amount of money and end up sweating in a room with a fan—during peak Miami summer heat—is absolutely ridiculous. The front desk staff were unhelpful throughout and offered no meaningful solutions. If you have other hotel options in the area, I strongly suggest staying elsewhere. This hotel does not live up to even basic hospitality standards. I hope you take this complaint seriously and consider appropriate action to ensure no other guest has to go through this again. Hidden gem of a hotel with overall great staff, great rooms and great pool area. Staff were helpful overall although there some were quite distant and it seemed like you were a burden to them however the hotel is busy so they may just be a little burnt out. Overall though a great stay in a lovely area with good facilities. Read less

The support here is a total joke in fact when checking out they could not let two people even pay there own parts of the bill as we always do at hotels, for conferences both of us have always paid individually. Here when requesting the reply was no

This hotel is conveniently located in Miami South Beach, a short walk away from the beach and Lincoln Road. Rooms are pretty generous in terms of spaces, with a modern look and cleaned daily. They provide you with daily soap, body wash, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion. The room also has a safe where you can look your belongings, mirrors and a hairdryer. There’s a pool opened from 7AM to 5PM with a small where you can buy drinks. They provide you with clean towels, sun beds and umbrellas. The pools is never too crowded and offers some activities during the week, such as yoga and pool movies. Inside the hotel there’s another bar and a restaurant but they close at 10PM so beware if you want to drink cocktails after that time. Staff is friendly and welcoming and there to help if you need. The hotel offers free access to a nearby beach where you can get free towels and sun beds, but you need to pay for the umbrella. The staff at the beach is not so friendly and it’s hard to get them to check you in or bring you a towel. There’s no restroom either so be prepared to walk if you need it. They open at 9.30AM which is not ideal if you are an early bird. Upon checking in we were told we had everything prepaid hence we did not have to pay for anything. We asked about the resort fee and they told us this was included; however, when we checked out, we discovered there was a daily service fee ($45), plus sales tax ($3.15), plus Hotel Occupancy Tax ($1.35), plus Miami Beach Resort Tax ($1.80) meaning you should expect to pay $51.3 extra per night which is not great. We would have appreciated more transparency around pricing and costs. They do not serve breakfast and rely on 2 local cafe. One serves small bits (such as muffins and coffees) and opens at 7AM; while the other has a-la-carte menu which is quite pricey but very low quality. Joe the Juice, McDonald’s and Rosetta are also close and offer a much better choice than the two cafes they suggest you. Considering this, I must say it’s been a nice stay but one I will not repeat.
