The Plymouth Miami Beach

South Beach, Miami

Star rating

The hotel

Take yourself just one or two blocks away from the hustle and bustle of South Beach, and you'll stumble across this hidden gem! You're still right in the heart of everything Miami has to offer - restaurants, bars and shops galore - but when you're chilling with a cocktail by the Art Deco style pool here, you'll feel completely chilled at the same time. If you're more of a beach person than the pool, hop aboard the The Plymobile and they'll take you straight to the beach hut where you can grab some towels and a lounge chair, and soak up the rays from the sand. It's not all rest though - try out a bit of kayaking or paddle boarding, or simply enjoy a good old game of connect 4 with your pals. You've surely heard of the famous Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar & Grill in New York - well now you can get your sashimi fix right here in Miami, and right here at this hotel! The high ceilings of the rooms give an airy, spacious feel. If you're travelling as a couple, we'd recommend the One Bedroom Terrace Suite so you enjoy a romantic soak in the bath tub, right in your own bedroom!

To start, we only stayed 1 night here as we were heading to Ft. Lauderdale to stay at the Marriott Resort & Spa. Which, we wish we spent our entire time at the Plymouth instead. I have nothing negative to say about this hotel. From check-in to check-out, AMAZING SERVICE. We asked to check in early since our flight got in around 12ish. The front desk lady, Igiann, was able to accommodate that as well as upgrade us to a room with a balcony, we were incredibly grateful. Our room was perfect and we enjoyed sitting on the balcony. The bed was comfortable, room was spotless, and just so cute. Loved the whole theme of the hotel. The bellman, Daniel, was the first one we technically interacted with when we got to the property and he was professional & nice from the moment we stepped foot in the hotel. We even ran into him at the local deli and he even said Hi to us. (Side note: we're from Chicago, people aren't exactly friendly.) The hotel pool bar= AMAZING. We had a lovely night just enjoying drinks in the pool and the bartender, Jefferson/JJ, cool dude, made us great drinks, fun to talk to, and just seemed to actually enjoy his job. We ate at Blue Ribbon and ordered sushi (DELICIOUS) and if I remember correctly, (those pool drinks got to me before dinner ;) ) I also ordered the pumpkin bread pudding for dessert and that was soo good. Honestly, for the 4 days we were in FL, Blue Ribbon was the best food we had! The coffee bar was great. We grabbed stuff from there twice during our short stay and sat outside the front of the hotel & then the morning of check out we grabbed coffee and sat by the pool. It was so peaceful as no one was awake yet. This was my husband and I's first time in Miami, and if we ever come back we will 1000% book with the Plymouth and for longer! My 30th birthday was definitely a trip to remember thanks to the Plymouth! Read less

Our recent stay at The Plymouth was perfect, the intimate and relaxing feel of the hotel was just perfect for us. Location excellent, super amenities with very friendly and approachable staff. Cosy bedroom, sumptuous bed and the pillows are so fluffy. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Overall the hotel is nice. However there was a dubious stain on the headboard which was unsettling. Also the pool had so much chlorine that it ruined my swimsuit and my hair. That was disappointing and the staff didn’t seem bothered when I brought it to their attention.

The front desk staff was warm and welcoming. They accommodated all of our requests and even showed us a 2nd room to make sure we were happy. We were excited to see that they had a “Blue Ribbon” restaurant on the property, as we love the one in NYC. Our dinner there which was poolside was exceptional. I forgot the name of the bartender at the pool but he was a total standout through the stay! His drinks and attitude were the absolute best. You can tell that he loves his job. All the guests gravitated towards him and became fast friends. The pool is small but very warm and inviting. Get there early if you want a lounge chair, as the pool area is small with limited lounges. To sum it up, my husband and I have already booked a return trip. This place feels like home. We loved it! I stayed at this hotel last week and found it to be a very poor experience. For the $45 "service charge" the hotel had no clean towels at the pool at the time I was there, not one free water bottle in the room (lots of water, food and liquor for sale in the room, however) and no available coffee in the AM. When I contacted the hotel about my concerns, they summarily dismissed me and my concerns that I received little to no value for the $45 fee. The woman on the phone, in fact, shared that the $45 was for room cleaning, WiFi, gym and the pool. Since when does room cleaning become an ancillary charge? Very disappointing. The manager, Shanna Kraaijeveld, summarily got involved (my request) and dismissed my request to remove the $45 service fee. I felt like I was speaking with the IRS. Not one apology toward my experience or any hint of empathy to my issue. Read less
