The hotel

A brand new hotel within the Grove Resort complex, The Terraces offer the perfect balance between fun and relaxation. A smaller, modern complex (with it's separate check-in for ease), this brings a chilled atmosphere when you're hanging by the pool, or reading on your balcony, and is great for couples who still want to enjoy the thrills and spills of Orlando. Complete with a poolside bar, and a coffee/deli style counter in the lobby, you don't need to go far for anything, and with a kitchenette in the suites you can even heat yourself up a quick dinner in the evening. However, wander over to the Grove Resort and Waterpark and you have full access to a huge waterpark complete with slides, lazy river and more, an activity centre with arcade games, and a wider selection of bars and restaurants. And then just a stones throw away (well, a complimentary shuttle ride actually) you have Walt Disney World - the pinnacle of Orlando, where you'll find even more excitement.

Probably won’t return. On approach this resort looks like the Ritz. Beautiful, well kept, stunning grounds, giving you the impression the hotel isn’t going to match. Sadly, it doesn’t. Pros: every member of staff friendly and helpful. No queues for the water slides Our room was immaculate, well equipped with everything we needed, a little bit clinical in terms of decor but that’s personal opinion. Negatives: on arriving at reception, it didn’t match the stunning approach, its definitely in need of a little uplift. Corridors and room doors, can only be described as depressing and grimey. Hotel Cecil style. When looking for our room we went up to the wrong floor. There were really young kids messing around by the lifts, unattended, pressing the lift button. Kids will be kids but this coupled with the state of the corridors, we were wondering what we’d let ourselves in for. Someone/people smoking weed. No idea where it was coming from but not appropriate for a family resort. Not enough sun loungers with shade. Although plenty of sun loungers with shade that you have to pay $60 extra for which is a joke. It’s August it’s roasting hot and the hotel management know that it’s not safe to be sat in complete sun all day especially for children. Restaurant very standard. Tables were chipped and shabby looking. We didn’t drink in the hotel bar but when walking past there were a fair few tables that needed clearing, on one occasion it looked like they needed clearing from the night before. All in all an okay visit but wouldn’t return. Read less

Where do we start? We visited this resort 6 years ago and it was amazing, we absolutely loved it which is why we thought we would return. We were so wrong, it has gone into neglect, the outdoor grounds are kept immaculate with sprinklers on looking after the grass/lawn areas, its such a shame inside the apartments is a different story. The rooms are shabby, in need of a complete revamp, very dated. Tv not operating, blinds dirty in need of a clean, I could go on and on. Within time, people will stop coming here. When we checked in we could not get into our room, the door was jammed shut, after a kick and a shove it opened, screws had fallen off the door frame. When we told reception, they said they would send someone, ten days after checking out we saw no one. I was not surprised. How can you run a huge resort in this way? No kettle in the room so I had to use a pan to boil the water, these are basics! I've stayed in air b and b's and other accomodation that offer more than this property. Drawers in the bedroom would not close, inadequate shampoo/body wash supplies. We had two bathrooms and no bodywash or shampoo in there at all, in our one it was less than half full, you would think these would get replaced when each new visitor checks in. The crockery/cutlery kitchen utensils look like they were purchased from the dollar shop and they have been handed down from a charity shop or been given to them. I really would check out other resorts as I know there is so much better out there. I just wish I had read the negative reviews before booking. Inadequate seating around the pool as they are all premium ones wanting you to pay. Read less

We went to the Waterpark and enjoyed the longboat restaurant. Our server Winter was amazing, she was on point with our food and so very polite. Our bartender Richard made our drinks perfect. We also met the manager Johnathan, who was walking around checking to make sure we were all taken care of.

We spent the day at the water park and decided to rent out a cabana. The cabana in and of itself is pricey for what is included compared to other resorts we’ve stayed at. However we had a dedicated server, her name is Shaunte. Shaunte was friendly and on top of everything we needed. We weren’t the only family she was taking care of, and she was… Read more

However we had a dedicated server, her name is Shaunte. Shaunte was friendly and on top of everything we needed. We weren’t the only family she was taking care of, and she was constantly running non stop to everyone around us, in the heat, with a smile. She is the type of employee you want to have representing your company. Overall, pleased with our time at the park. Read less
