You should definitely give this resort a try; it will exceed all your expectations! A specific tip; go to Faru Restaurant on the island. This restaurant has a western cuisine and we loved absolutely enjoyed eating at this place. We would like to thank all the staff for being so friendly, but especially Sukan; thank you for your excellent service and the nice pictures you took from us! Read less

Trip taken in Feb 2023(review moved from duplicate account ) - Dhigali Maldives – Good, but not outstanding Feb 2023 • Family Arrival Our arrival at Dhigali was beautiful, and the staff were welcoming and friendly, which set a lovely first impression. Room Unfortunately, the room did not meet expectations. The carpets were stained, and the minibar was limited, with nothing gluten-free despite prior discussions with both the resort and Kuoni. It was also stocked for two guests, not for a family of four. The main bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable, and it took until day three after much persistence to receive mattress toppers so we could sleep properly. The roll-away bed was initially just sofa cushions, which we also had to negotiate to replace with a real mattress for our son. Seating in the room was also converted into a bed, but again, not ideal for comfort. We had requested (before and during our stay) to upgrade to a water villa and were happy to pay, but these seemed reserved for social media influencers and select guests. Many others received upgrades and special touches like birthday flowers, but despite asking several times, we were not accommodated. Food Restaurant bookings were frustrating. The resort advised us bookings could only be made on arrival via the Dhigali app, but by the time we arrived, most restaurants were full. We had to repeatedly call the reservations line to secure limited slots and managed just 3–4 bookings across our 8-night stay. The system was ineffective and disappointing. • Capers (buffet): Good variety, but gluten-free options were very limited. A gluten-free meal for my son often took 30–45 minutes to arrive, and staff could not always confirm ingredients—sometimes just saying “it’s gluten free.” On our first evening, a pasta dish was incorrectly labeled as gluten-free, which was concerning. • Battuta: Outstanding—fantastic food, service, and atmosphere. • Jade: Also excellent in every respect. • Faru: Great food and atmosphere, but service was poor and inflexible when it came to families and seating preferences. Diving The diving team was a real highlight—professional, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. A first-class experience we would highly recommend. Kids Club Sadly, the Kids Club was unacceptable and felt unsafe. Staff were inattentive, often chatting or on their phones, and even used inappropriate language in front of children. During just one 1.5-hour session: • My son burned his feet on hot surfaces outside. • He fell off a swing and hit his head. Neither incident was reported to us. This experience was concerning enough that we did not return for the rest of our stay. Overall Dhigali is a beautiful island with some wonderful staff and excellent diving, but the shortcomings in room comfort, restaurant booking, and children’s care made our stay far from the five-star standard we expected.
